Preaching love for its own sake....

It is not in accordance with God's will if His word is used as a means to achieve earthly aims.... if it is used to induce the fellow human being into loving activity in order to derive his own benefit from it. This is a misuse of the divine word and an injustice against the neighbour, for he is, so to speak, urged to be lovingly active, yet always under pressure which does not allow his love to develop. The obvious purpose deprives him of the joy of loving activity, and spiritual progress is rarely achieved. The divine word certainly teaches love, yet it is not the deed itself which is valued but the degree of love in which the deed is carried out. If an earthly aim is the reason for loving activity, the deed itself can certainly be carried out but the feeling of love can be completely lacking, and then it is a dead work which is accomplished.... but the human being believes to have fulfilled the divine commandment of neighbourly love. But the person who influences his fellow human being to carry out a deed for the sake of an earthly advantage by reproaching him for the divine commandment of love is worthy of condemnation.... The latter can listen to the reproaches, he can do what is demanded of him and yet inner love can be completely absent. But the human being does not give an account of his inner feelings but is satisfied with having accomplished an act which apparently corresponds to the divine commandment of love. But the human being who strives for his own advantage and tries to induce his fellow human being does not observe the commandment of unselfish neighbourly love himself but tries to harm his fellow human being. Consequently, he is not justified in invoking the divine commandment of love; he thereby makes himself sinful, for this is no teaching and no educating to love, but the deed itself is given more priority. Love alone, however, is decisive for the soul's progress.... And this way of preaching love can often be found where earthly aims are pursued which require people's cooperation.... aims which mean an increase in power and which cannot be reconciled with true neighbourly love. And then the divine commandments come into a false light with those who seriously strive and now become suspicious because the representatives of this doctrine of love obey it the least and do not give true, unselfish love to their neighbour. The divine word is misused but people seek cover behind this word by citing it, yet it is not followed by the representatives of the divine teaching who strive for earthly aims.... power and wealth. And these inflict damage on humanity which, however, is rarely recognized, because a person who believes himself to be lovingly active does not practice love.... but the love of the heart must inevitably impel him into action.... for only this love is redeeming, and only this love connects the human being with God....

Predicar el amor para el propio beneficio....

No corresponde a la voluntad de Dios cuando Su Palabra se usa como un medo para lograr objetivos terrenales.... cuando se usa para motivar a los demás seres humanos a actuar en amor para obtener de ella un beneficio personal. Entonces se trata de un mal uso de la Palabra divina y de una injusticia contra el prójimo, porque se le anima, por así decirlo, a obrar en el amor, pero siempre bajo una presión que no permite que su amor se desarrolle. El propósito obvio le priva de la alegría de la actividad del amor y rara vez se logra el desarrollo espiritual.

La Palabra divina ciertamente enseña el amor, pero no es el acto en sí que se valora, sino el grado de amor con que se realiza el acto. Si un objetivo terrenal es la razón de la actividad del amor, entonces el acto en sí puede ciertamente realizarse, pero el sentimiento de amor puede faltar por completo, y entonces es una obra muerta la que se realiza.... pero el ser humano cree haber cumplido el mandamiento divino del amor al prójimo.

Sin embargo, es digno de condenación aquel que, en aras de una ventaja terrenal, influye en su prójimo para que realice un acto, reprochándole el mandamiento divino del amor.... Ahora puede escuchar las amonestaciones, puede hacer lo que se le pide y, sin embargo, el amor interior puede faltar por completo. Sin embargo, el ser humano no se da cuenta de sus sentimientos interiores, sino que se contenta con haber realizado un acto que aparentemente corresponde al mandamiento divino del amor.

Sin embargo, el ser humano que se esfuerza por su propio beneficio y trata de animar a sus semejantes, no observa él mismo el mandamiento del amor desinteresado al prójimo, sino que busca perjudicar a su semejante. En consecuencia, no tiene derecho a citar el mandamiento divino del amor; A través de esto se hace pecador, porque esto no es enseñar ni educar al amor, sino que se pone más el acto mismo en primer plano. Pero solo el amor es decisivo para el progreso del alma.... Y esta manera de predicar el amor se puede encontrar a menudo allí donde se persiguen objetivos terrenales que requieren la participación humana.... Objetivos, que significan el aumento del poder y que no pueden reconciliarse con el verdadero amor al prójimo.

Y entonces los mandamientos divinos aparecen bajo una luz falsa para aquellos que se esfuerzan seriamente y ahora sospechan porque los representantes de esta enseñanza del amor son los menos propensos a seguirlos y no dan amor verdadero y desinteresado al prójimo. La palabra divina se usa mal, pero uno busca cubrirla citándola, pero sin seguirla, por parte de los representantes de la enseñanza divina que se esfuerzan por objetivos terrenales.... poder y riqueza. Y esto causa un daño a la humanidad que, sin embargo, rara vez se reconoce porque un ser humano que cree que es activo en el amor no practica el amor.... pero el amor del corazón debe impulsarlo inevitablemente a la acción.... porque solo este amor es redentor, y solo este amor conecta el ser humano con Dios....
