Temptations of the world....

You will have to be careful not to fall prey to the temptations of the world if you are not yet strong enough in faith. For the hostilities of the world are especially directed towards you, it seeks to win you over and to persuade you to fall away from God, and therefore you must arm yourselves with the shield of faith and steel it beforehand so that it will stand firm. Anyone who is still weak should struggle for strength of faith, he should not stop asking for strength and grace and his will should always be turned towards God; he should practice love because strength will flow into him and he will then be able to withstand all temptations by the world. So love is always the first.... incessantly being active in love will let you grow in realization, you will attain convinced faith and this will have an unshakeable strength, love is a weapon which overcomes everything and forces the strongest enemy to the ground, because God Himself is active in the loving human being. And again and again it has to be pointed out that the coming time will bring you abundant opportunities to practice neighbourly love, and that you must not fail then if you want to survive the horrors of the time, if you want to go through this last battle unharmed in body and soul. Nothing else can replace the strength of love and nothing else can earn you this strength than active neighbourly love, as energetic care for the soul and body of your fellow human being. If you practice this, the time of tribulation need not frighten you, for then you will have the strength within you to master all opposition. But as soon as you lack love you will also waver in faith, because faith without love is dead and a dead faith is without conviction and without strength. Then the world will easily succeed in making you inclined towards its temptations; earthly life will seem incomparably more appealing to you, for you have nothing more blissful to offer it.... the delights of a profound bond with God through love.... Then you will fall away and be lost for eternity, for the final decision is upon you and you will only be able to make it correctly if you believe deeply and steadfastly. And therefore God warns you urgently of the temptations of the world, and again and again He admonishes you to love.... He constantly shows you the path you have to take in order to emerge victoriously from the last time of battle; yet there is only one path, the path of love.... And if you walk this path you need not fear anything, no matter what may come. But without love the path is difficult or, if you leave it, dangerous for your soul.... And prayer is always at your disposal. If you are in danger of becoming weak, call upon God for His help, present your adversity to Him and appeal to Him for grace and strength, and He will truly not let your prayer go unheard if you fear for your soul's salvation and take refuge in Him. And you will receive the strength to be lovingly active and then use it in the right way.... Always bear in mind that you cannot become blessed without love but that in love you will find the fullest substitute for everything the world can offer you. For it is only pseudo goods which you desire.... for their sake don't give up the goods of eternity which make you deeply happy and turn you into free, blissful beings. Therefore fight the short battle with God, i.e. remain in constant contact with God in love for your neighbour, and you will emerge victorious from this battle and eternally enjoy your victory....

Versuchungen der Welt....

Achtsam werdet ihr sein müssen, daß ihr den Versuchungen der Welt nicht zum Opfer fallet, die ihr noch nicht stark genug im Glauben seid. Denn euch gelten ganz besonders die Anfeindungen der Welt, euch sucht sie zu gewinnen für sich und euch zum Abfall von Gott zu bewegen, und darum müsset ihr euch wappnen mit dem Schild des Glaubens und diesen zuvor stählen, auf daß er standhalte. Wer noch schwach ist, der soll ringen um Stärke des Glaubens, er soll nicht aufhören, zu bitten um Kraft und Gnade, und sein Wille soll stets Gott zugewandt sein; er soll sich in der Liebe üben, weil dadurch Kraft in ihn überfließt und er dann standhalten wird allen Versuchungen durch die Welt. Also ist immer die Liebe das erste.... unentwegt in der Liebe tätig sein lässet euch wachsen in der Erkenntnis, ihr gelanget zu überzeugtem Glauben, und dieser wird eine Stärke haben, die unerschütterlich ist, die Liebe ist eine Waffe, die alles überwindet und den stärksten Feind zu Boden zwingt, weil im liebetätigen Menschen Gott Selbst wirkt. Und immer wieder muß darauf hingewiesen werden, daß euch die kommende Zeit überreich Gelegenheit bringen wird, die Nächstenliebe zu üben, und daß ihr dann nicht versagen dürfet, wollet ihr die Schrecknisse der Zeit überstehen, wollet ihr unbeschadet an Leib und Seele durch diesen letzten Kampf hindurchgehen. Nichts anderes kann euch die Kraft der Liebe ersetzen und nichts anderes diese Kraft eintragen als werktätige Nächstenliebe, als tatkräftige Fürsorge um Seele und Körper des Mitmenschen. Übet ihr diese, so braucht euch die Zeit der Drangsal nicht zu schrecken, denn dann traget ihr die Kraft in euch, aller Widerstände Herr zu werden. Sowie euch aber die Liebe mangelt, werdet ihr auch wankend werden im Glauben, weil der Glaube ohne die Liebe tot ist und ein toter Glaube ohne Überzeugung und ohne Kraft ist. Dann wird es der Welt leicht gelingen, euch ihren Verlockungen geneigt zu machen; es wird euch das irdische Leben ungleich reizvoller erscheinen, denn ihr habt ihm nichts Beseligenderes entgegenzusetzen.... die Wonnen einer tiefen Verbindung mit Gott durch die Liebe.... Dann werdet ihr abfallen und verloren sein für die Ewigkeit, denn die letzte Entscheidung steht euch bevor, und diese werdet ihr nur recht treffen können, so ihr tief und unerschütterlich glaubt. Und darum warnet euch Gott eindringlich vor den Versuchungen der Welt, und Er mahnet euch immer und immer wieder zur Liebe.... Er zeigt euch ständig den Weg, den ihr gehen müsset, um aus der letzten Kampfzeit siegreich hervorzugehen; doch es gibt nur den einen Weg, den Weg der Liebe.... Und so ihr diesen Weg wandelt, brauchet ihr nichts zu fürchten, was auch kommen mag. Ohne die Liebe aber ist der Weg beschwerlich oder, so ihr ihn verlasset, gefahrvoll für eure Seele.... Und immer steht euch das Gebet zur Verfügung. So ihr schwach zu werden droht, so rufet Gott an um Seinen Beistand, tragt Ihm eure Not vor und bittet Ihn um Gnade und Kraft, und Er wird euer Gebet wahrlich nicht unerhört lassen, so ihr um euer Seelenheil banget und zu Ihm eure Zuflucht nehmet. Und es wird euch die Kraft zugehen, liebetätig zu sein, und dann nützet sie in der rechten Weise.... Bedenket immer, daß ihr ohne die Liebe nicht selig werden könnt, in der Liebe jedoch vollsten Ersatz findet für alles, was die Welt euch bieten kann. Denn es sind nur Scheingüter, die ihr begehret.... um ihretwillen gebet nicht die Güter der Ewigkeit auf, die euch tief beglücken und euch zu freien, seligen Wesen machen. Darum kämpfet den kurzen Kampf mit Gott, d.h. bleibt in der Liebe zum Nächsten in ständiger Verbindung mit Gott, und ihr werdet als Sieger aus diesem Kampf hervorgehen und euch ewiglich eures Sieges erfreuen....
