And lead us through the temptation....

You should always pray.... And lead us through the temptation.... when the world tries to discourage you from your spiritual striving and you are at risk of succumbing to its attractions. Since this temptation comes upon you in order to strengthen your will, you will always be subject to this temptation in order to demonstrate your will and you will always be successful if you take refuge in God’s protection, if you call upon Him for the strength to resist. Time and again the opponent will attempt to alienate you from God, and his ways of doing so are dangerous, because they appeal to people’s senses and therefore the soul will always have to fight in order to resist him. Nevertheless, God’s help is assured to you if you confide in Him and appeal for His guidance....

Behoed ons in bekoring en verlos ons van het kwade

Leid ons als we bekoord worden, zo moet u altijd bidden, wanneer de wereld u van uw geestelijk streven dreigt af te brengen en u in gevaar bent een prooi te worden van de prikkels ervan. Want dit is een verzoeking die over u komt om uw wil te sterken, het is een verzoeking waaraan u altijd bent blootgesteld, omdat uw weerstand moet worden beproefd en die u echter steeds kunt doorstaan als u onder GOD's hoede vlucht, als u HEM aanroept om kracht om te weerstaan. De tegenstander tracht u steeds weer van GOD te vervreemden en zijn middelen zijn gevaarlijk, want ze zijn aangenaam voor de zinnen van de mens en daarom vraagt het steeds een strijd van de ziel hem te weerstaan. Maar GOD's hulp is voor u ook zeker, als u zich aan HEM toevertrouwt en om Zijn leiding vraagt.
