"Watch and pray...."

Righteous in thought, righteous in speech and righteous in action.... this should be the life of anyone who wants to unite with God in spirit. Man should avoid all pitfalls, he should always remember how easily he can fall into the snares of those who seek to corrupt him. And he should be vigilant, because the enemy is always lying in wait and takes advantage of every weak moment. Therefore watch and pray, lest you fall into temptation, for the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Do not covet what is the portion of the world, but seek only spiritual good. And make every sacrifice so that you may become strong in spirit and easily surrender what belongs to the world....

깨어 있고 기도하라.

의롭게 생각하고, 의롭게 말하고, 의롭게 행하라. 영으로 하나님과 연합하려는 사람의 삶은 이런 삶이 되어야 한다. 사람은 모든 위험한 절벽을 피해야 한다. 그는 사람을 타락하게 하려는 그물에 쉽게 빠질 수 있다는 것을 항상 생각해야 한다. 너희는 깨어 있어야 한다. 왜냐하면 항상 대적자는 숨어서 기다리고 있고, 모든 연약한 순간을 이용하려고 하기 때문이다. 그러므로 너희가 시험에 빠지지 않도록 깨어서 기도하라. 왜냐하면 영은 실제 원하지만, 육신은 약하기 때문이다. 세상에 속한 것을 탐하지 말고, 단지 영적인 것을 얻으려고 하라. 영적으로 강하게 되기 위해 어떤 희생도 감수하라. 즉 세상에 속한 것을 힘들이지 말고 희생하라.
