Righteous in thought, righteous in speech and righteous in action.... this should be the life of anyone who wants to unite with God in spirit. Man should avoid all pitfalls, he should always remember how easily he can fall into the snares of those who seek to corrupt him. And he should be vigilant, because the enemy is always lying in wait and takes advantage of every weak moment. Therefore watch and pray, lest you fall into temptation, for the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Do not covet what is the portion of the world, but seek only spiritual good. And make every sacrifice so that you may become strong in spirit and easily surrender what belongs to the world....

"Wachet und betet...."
Gerecht im Denken, gerecht im Reden und gerecht im Handeln.... so soll das Leben dessen sein, der sich Gott verbinden will im Geist. Es soll der Mensch jegliche Klippen meiden, er soll immer daran denken, wie leicht er in die Fallstricke dessen geraten kann, der ihn zu verderben sucht. Und er soll wachsam sein, denn immer liegt der Feind auf der Lauer und nützet jeden schwachen Augenblick. Darum wachet und betet, auf daß ihr nicht in Versuchung fallet, denn der Geist ist wohl willig, aber das Fleisch ist schwach. Begehret nicht, was Anteil der Welt ist, sondern suchet nur geistiges Gut zu erringen. Und bringet jedes Opfer, auf daß ihr stark werdet im Geist und mühelos hingebet, was der Welt angehört....
