Lies and truth and their origin....

The working of the spirit is unmistakable where the concepts of truth and lie are so clearly distinguished, thus God or His adversary can be recognized as the origin of what is offered to people. The spirit from God will always declare war on all untruth, since it is the pure truth in itself.... the emanation of God, Who is the truth Himself. Truth and falsehood are such opposites that the origin must also be two completely opposite entities. And the person who is in the truth will always feel connected to God, i.e. strive for the good from within, while the follower of the lie is in bondage to the will of the power that ignites all evil instincts in people. Just as the concept of truth can only be associated with God, a person who associates himself with God will never have to fear untruth or error, and consequently truth can always be assumed to exist where people are willing to turn to God. However, it is not the words but the actions of those who believe themselves to be knowledgeable that are decisive. A person who cannot do enough in his deeds of love will also irrevocably stand in the truth, for the spirit from God directs his thoughts towards the right realization. But lies will be represented by those people who do not act lovingly themselves, for their thoughts are influenced by the power that opposes God. The latter will always try to mix truth and lies.... The human being will neither desire the truth nor recognize the lie as such, but will accept without judgement everything that is offered to him, even consider everything to be good, even if it obviously suggests bad powers. For he does not detest lies, since he is blind in spirit and, due to his loveless nature, is still very much related to the one who himself is devoid of all love. Nor will he feel the urge within himself to want to recognize what is true and right because he desires nothing that is from God as long as he is still in the power of God's adversary. The working of the spirit is then understandably not possible, for the spirit from God can only express itself where the truth is desired, because God can only offer divine things to those who endeavour to come close to God. But the lie emanates from the adversary and also leads back to him, for everything that is a lie means distance from God and therefore drawing closer to His adversary. The person who desires the truth will recognize all characteristics of truth as well as those of lies and he will very soon know where he should look for the truth and where he can avoid lies. For the human being who desires truth gives himself, i.e. his thinking, to God, Who then enlightens him with His spirit, i.e. directs his thinking, so that he can clearly recognize and distinguish truth from lies....

Leugen en waarheid en hun oorsprong

Het werkzaam zijn van de GEEST is niet te miskennen, waar de begrippen waarheid en leugen zo duidelijk van elkaar worden onderscheiden, dus GOD of Zijn tegenstander als oorsprong van datgene wat de mensen wordt aangeboden, te herkennen is. De GEEST uit GOD zal steeds tegen elke onwaarheid ten strijde trekken, daar HIJ in Zich de zuivere Waarheid is - de Uitstraling van GOD, DIE de WAARHEID Zelf is. De waarheid en leugen zijn zo tegengesteld, dat ook de oorsprong ervan twee heel tegengestelde wezens moeten zijn. En steeds zal de mens die zich in de waarheid bevindt, zich met GOD verbonden voelen, d.w.z. vanuit zijn innerlijk het goede nastreven, terwijl de aanhanger van de leugen gebonden is aan de wil van de macht die alle slechte driften en neigingen in de mens opwekt.

Zoals nu het begrip waarheid alleen met GOD in verband kan worden gebracht, zal de mens nooit onwaarheid of dwaling hoeven te vrezen die zich zelf in verbinding stelt met GOD en bijgevolg kan steeds daar de waarheid vermoed worden waar de wil van de mensen op GOD is gericht. Maatgevend daarvoor zijn echter niet de woorden, maar de daden van diegenen die geloven dat ze wetend zijn. Een mens die niet ophoudt met werkzaam te zijn in liefde, zal onherroepelijk in de waarheid wandelen want de GEEST uit GOD stuurt zijn gedachten naar het goede inzicht.

Maar achter de leugen staan zullen die mensen die niet actief zijn in de liefde, want het denken van hen wordt door de macht die tegen GOD gericht is, beïnvloed. Deze zal steeds waarheid en leugen trachten te vermengen. De mens zal noch de waarheid begeren, noch de leugen als zodanig inzien, veeleer alles zonder te oordelen aannemen wat hem wordt aangeboden, nog wel alles voor goed houden, zelfs wanneer men duidelijk kan besluiten dat er slechte krachten in het spel zijn. Want hij verafschuwt de leugen niet daar hij in zijn verstand blind is en door zijn liefdeloze wezen nog zeer verwant is aan hem die zelf zonder enige liefde is. En hij zal ook niet de drang in zich voelen het ware en juiste te willen inzien, omdat hij niets begeert wat van GOD is, zolang hij zich nog in de macht van de tegenstander van GOD bevindt.

Een werkzaam zijn van de GEEST is dan begrijpelijkerwijs niet mogelijk, want de GEEST uit GOD kan Zich alleen uiten waar de waarheid wordt begeert, omdat GOD het goddelijke alleen aan diegene kan aanbieden die probeert dichter bij GOD te komen. Maar de leugen gaat van de tegenstander uit en voert ook naar hem terug, want alles wat leugen is, betekent verwijdering van GOD en dus aanpassing aan Zijn tegenstander.

Alle kenmerken van de waarheid zowel als ook die van de leugen worden herkenbaar aan de mens die naar de waarheid verlangt en hij zal zeer spoedig weten waar hij de waarheid zoeken moet en waar hij de leugen kan vermijden. Want de mens die de waarheid begeert geeft zichzelf, d.w.z. zijn denken, over aan GOD, DIE hem nu met Zijn GEEST verlicht, d.w.z. het denken richt, zodat hij duidelijk kan inzien en de waarheid goed onderscheidt van de leugen.
