Spiritual flattening.... earthly violence....

The most unmistakable sign of spiritual shallowness is the inclination and desire for the goods of this world. If humanity only knows this striving, spiritual wisdom can hardly be spread among it, for it has nothing to do with earthly success and is therefore not desirable. But it can never be assumed that spiritual striving could be utilized in an earthly way. Only where all desire for matter is suppressed can spiritual endeavour be crowned with success, i.e. the working of the spirit in man can also become visible. However, if humanity is only interested in increasing earthly prosperity, the working of the spirit in the human being is forbidden of its own accord, and the consequence of this is spiritual darkness, often to such an extent that the working of the spirit is regarded as human machination instead of a divine manifestation of strength and is therefore given little attention or faith. There are only very few courageous children of God who nevertheless represent what they have become aware of through spiritual experience, but these few will speak as if with the tongues of angels, even though they will be called to account by the earthly authorities for their opinion.... Nothing else is to be expected at a time when people are almost on the brink of destruction. And so the believers alone will not be able to do anything about them and will almost become despondent until the lord Himself unexpectedly expresses Himself, and this in an obvious way. People's spiritual shallowness is recognizable by the ignorance that speaks from every word, providing they take part in a conversation that digresses into the spiritual. They lack all concepts and they do not dwell on what they have heard for long either but regard the time spent on it as a waste of time. Consequently, they will never make any progress as they lack any knowledge, but in their stubbornness they do not accept any instruction either. There are only a few exceptions who immediately recognize the truth when it is offered to them. The desire for earthly possessions will not dominate their thoughts as much, even though they still regard it as the most important aspect of earthly life. These are people for whom earthly possessions, however great they may be, are no longer enough and who therefore, of their own accord, occupy themselves with thoughts which reach into the kingdom of the beyond. If spiritual truth is then presented to them, the good forces in the beyond will help them by influencing their thoughts and thus guide the person towards realization. The word of God must be proclaimed everywhere, even if the resistance is very great and seemingly no progress can be achieved. Where the divine word is offered, people with good will can also recognize it as the word of God because it speaks to them themselves. There the spiritual low is also not so alarming, i.e. not completely hopeless, because these people are willing and accessible to an instruction coming from above....

영적인 침체. 세상의 권세.

영적 침체의 가장 확실한 표시는 이 세상의 재물을 향한 편애와 욕망이다. 인류가 단지 세상 재물만을 추구할 줄 안다면, 그들 사이에 영적인 지혜가 전파될 수 없게 될 것이다. 왜냐하면 영적인 지혜는 이 땅의 성공과는 전혀 관련이 없고 결과적으로 갈망할만 하게 보이지 않기 때문이다. 그러므로 영적인 추구가 이 땅에서 평가를 받을 수 있다고 절대로 가정할 수 없다. 단지 물질를 향한 모든 갈망을 억압하는 곳에서, 영적인 추구가 성공할 수 있다. 다시 말해 사람 안의 영의 역사가 볼 수 있게 된다.

그러나 인류가 단지 이 땅의 복지를 증가시키려는 생각을 한다면, 스스로 사람 안의 영의 역사를 금지하는 것이고, 이런 일의 결과는 영적인 어두움이 된다. 자주 이런 영적 어두움의 규모는, 영의 역사를 하나님의 힘의 나타남으로 여기지 않고, 인간의 역사로 여기고, 그러므로 그가 주의를 기울이지 않게 되거나 또는 믿지 않을 정도가 된다.

그럼에도 불구하고 영적인 체험을 통해 의식하게 된 것을 대변하는 용감한 하나님의 자녀는 단지 극소수에 불과하다. 그러나 이런 소수의 사람들이, 비록 그들의 의견 때문에 세상의 권세에 의해 책임을 추궁당하게 될지라도, 천사가 말하는 것처럼 말하게 될 것이다. 이런 시기에 이런 일 외에 다른 일을 기대할 수 없다. 왜냐면 사람들이 거의 파멸 직전에 있기 때문이다. 그러므로 믿는 사람들은 혼자서 그런 사람들에게 아무일도 할 수 없고, 주님이 예상치 못하게 자신을 분명하게 나타낼 때까지, 이미 거의 낙담하게 될 것이다.

사람들이 영적인 일에 관한 대화에 참여한다면, 그들이 말하는 모든 단어에서 알 수 있는 무지로 인해 사람들의 영적 침체를 깨달을 수 있다. 그들은 어떤 개념도 없고, 그들은 들은 내용에 오래 머무르지 않고, 이를 위해 드린 시간을 단지 낭비라고 생각한다. 그러므로 그들은 어떤 성장도 이루지 못하게 된다. 왜냐면 그들에게 모든 지식이 부족하지만, 그러나 그들은 그들의 고집 가운데 어떤 가르침도 받아드리지 않기 때문이다. 그들에게 진리가 제공될 때, 즉시 진리를 깨닫는 일은 단지 적은 예외적인 일이다.

모든 사람이 실제 아직 이 땅의 재물을 이 땅의 삶에서 가장 중요한 것으로 간주하지만, 이 땅의 재물을 향한 욕망이 사람들의 생각을 아주 지배하지는 않는다. 이런 사람들은 그들의 세상 재물이 아무리 크더라도, 더 이상 만족하지 않고, 그러므로 자신이 동인이 되어 저세상의 나라를 생각하는 사람들이다. 그들에게 이제 영적인 진리가 전해진다면, 저세상의 선한 세력이 이제 생각에 미치는 영향을 통해 그들을 돕고, 이로써 사람들이 깨닫도록 인도한다.

하나님의 말씀은, 비록 저항이 아주 크고, 진척을 이루는 일에 성공하지 못할 것처럼 보일지라도, 모든 곳에서 전파되어야만 한다. 하나님의 말씀이 제공되는 곳에서, 선한 의지를 가진 사람은 말씀을 하나님의 말씀으로 깨달을 수 있다. 왜냐면 말씀 자체가 그에게 말하기 때문이다. 그런 곳에서는 영적으로 저조한 상태가 그렇게 심각하지 않다. 다시 말해 완전히 희망이 없는 것이 아니다. 왜냐하면 사람들이 위에서 오는 가르침에 자원하여 접근할 수 있기 때문이다._>아멘
