Material benefit of the activity.... right to use it....

What contributes to the increase of matter need not be directed against divine will as long as love for one's neighbour is the driving force behind earthly activity. Man should fulfil his earthly task and this will also bring him material advantage. This is not against divine will. The only thing that matters is how he now utilizes the earthly good he has gained. If he only has his own physical well-being in mind, then he will enjoy the possession for his own sake and jeopardize his soul. However, if he uses it to alleviate the need of his neighbour or uses his possessions to provide physical or spiritual help where it is needed, God Himself will bless and increase his possessions, for this is in accordance with His will. A person can gain an incredible advantage for his soul if he is always restlessly active with a view to the soul's higher development. His earthly activity is then at the same time redeeming, for it is carried out with the right realization. It no longer supports the evil power in the beyond, but its effect is weakened by redeeming matter and again enabling a new moulding for the spiritual in it, but at the same time the now won possession is used in such a way that it again remedies earthly misery. The success of earthly activity must always favour a work of love, then it is God-willed and the activity will be blessed. But anyone who is only intent on making his earthly life bearable, who works restlessly for the sake of earthly advantages, who only loves his own ego and this love is the driving force for earthly activity, who constantly increases his possessions for his own pleasure, simultaneously increases the power of evil, for he does not release the immature spiritual substance from its form but prolongs its bound state and hands himself over to those forces which influence him unfavourably by seeking to increase the inclination for what the human being has long since overcome.... Then man rejoices in his possessions and contributes neither to his own redemption nor to the redemption of the bound spiritual substance, but binds himself and the spiritual substance in matter anew through his desire for earthly good....

Materieller Vorteil der Tätigkeit.... Rechtes Nützen dessen....

Was zur Vermehrung der Materie beiträgt, braucht nicht durchaus dem göttlichen Willen entgegengerichtet sein, sofern die Liebe zum Nächsten Triebkraft ist zur irdischen Tätigkeit. Es soll der Mensch seiner Erdenaufgabe nachkommen, und es wird ihm dies auch materiellen Vorteil eintragen. Dies ist nicht gegen den göttlichen Willen. Nur das ist von Bedeutung, wie er das gewonnene irdische Gut nun nützet. Hat er nur sein eigenes körperliches Wohl vor Augen, dann wird er sich des Besitzes um seiner selbst willen freuen, und er gefährdet damit seine Seele. Lindert er jedoch damit die Not des Nächsten oder verwendet er seine Güter so, daß er körperliche oder geistige Hilfe leistet, wo solche nötig ist, so wird Gott Selbst seinen Besitz segnen und mehren, denn es entspricht dies Seinem Willen. Unglaublichen Vorteil kann der Mensch für seine Seele gewinnen, so er rastlos tätig ist immer im Hinblick auf die seelische Höherentwicklung. Es ist dann seine irdische Tätigkeit gleichzeitig erlösend, denn sie wird ausgeführt in der rechten Erkenntnis. Es wird nicht mehr damit jenseitige böse Kraft unterstützt, sondern deren Wirken entkräftet, indem Materie erlöst und wieder eine neue Verformung für das Geistige in ihr ermöglicht wird, gleichzeitig aber der nun gewonnene Besitz so angewendet wird, daß er wieder irdische Not behebt. Immer muß der Erfolg irdischer Tätigkeit ein Liebeswirken begünstigen, dann ist er Gott-gewollt, und die Tätigkeit wird gesegnet sein. Wer aber nur darauf bedacht ist, sich sein Erdenleben erträglich zu gestalten, wer rastlos arbeitet um irdischer Vorteile willen, wer nur sein eigenes Ich liebt und diese Liebe Triebkraft ist zu irdischer Tätigkeit, wer seinen Besitz ständig vermehrt zur eigenen Freude, der vermehrt gleichzeitig die Kraft des Bösen, denn er erlöst das unreife Geistige nicht aus seiner Form, sondern er verlängert den gebundenen Zustand dessen und überliefert sich selbst jenen Kräften, die ihn ungünstig beeinflussen, indem sie den Hang danach zu vermehren suchen, was der Mensch schon längst überwunden hat.... Dann freut sich der Mensch seines Besitzes und trägt weder zur eigenen Erlösung noch zur Erlösung des gebundenen Geistigen bei, sondern er bindet sich und das Geistige in der Materie von neuem durch seine Begierde nach irdischem Gut....
