Measures taken by earthly power against faith in Jesus Christ....

It remains a futile endeavour of the world to completely detach people from Christ, that is, to alienate His name from them and to eradicate His teaching. Although it will appear as if the worldly power is to succeed in this, it will only be able to force people to deny Jesus Christ up to a certain limit, but then it will also work for it to the same extent as against it. And Jesus' disciples will also have a power at their disposal that far surpasses worldly power. Only by invoking His name will they accomplish things which are impossible for worldly power, and this will increase the number of Jesus' followers, and then people's faith will come alive and the reputation of worldly power will diminish to the same extent as faith in Jesus Christ will grow. And the earthly power will not look upon it with favour, it will rather try with all its might to shake the faith in Jesus Christ; it will adopt a threatening attitude and threaten the harshest punishments to those who stand up for the spreading of the divine word and thus profess to be followers of Jesus. These will have to bow to earthly power and will be subjected to great tribulations. But even if it may seem earthly, as if all power is on their side, they will be unable to do anything against the power of faith of those who fight for God. These will manifest themselves through obvious signs and wonders that God Himself works in and through the believers. And where the believers no longer know what to do, there God Himself will appear and tell people what they should do, and people will speak when and how God wills it, and all measures which the world and its representatives take in order to eradicate faith in God, in the divine saviour, will be weak human work. They will have little success and this will increase their indignation to such an extent that they will make decrees upon decrees, but without real success, without reaching their goal. Many will certainly fall away from faith in Jesus Christ during this time, but those who stand firm and profess Him will endure the harshest trials; they will no longer surrender what they possess because Jesus Christ means far more to them than what earthly power can ever offer them....

Medidas do poder terreno contra a fé em Jesus Cristo....

Continua a ser uma tentativa fútil do mundo de separar completamente as pessoas de Cristo, alienando assim o Seu nome delas e erradicando os Seus ensinamentos. Embora pareça que o poder mundano deva ser bem sucedido nisto, só poderá forçar as pessoas a negar Jesus Cristo até um certo limite, mas então também trabalhará para ele na mesma medida que contra ele. E os discípulos de Jesus também terão à sua disposição um poder que ultrapassa em muito o poder do mundo. Eles só realizarão coisas invocando Seu nome que são impossíveis para o poder mundano, e isso aumentará o rebanho de seguidores de Jesus, e agora a fé das pessoas se tornará uma fé viva, e a reputação do poder mundano diminuirá na mesma medida em que a fé em Jesus Cristo crescerá. E o poder terreno não olhará para tais com favor, em vez disso, tentará com todas as suas forças abalar a fé em Jesus Cristo; adotará uma atitude ameaçadora e ameaçará os castigos mais duros para aqueles que apoiam a propagação da Palavra divina e assim professam ser seguidores de Jesus. Estes terão que se curvar ao poder terreno e ser expostos a grandes tribulações. Mas mesmo que pareça terreno, como se todo o poder estivesse do seu lado, eles não são capazes de fazer nada contra o poder da fé daqueles que lutam por Deus. Estes se expressarão através de sinais e maravilhas óbvias que o próprio Deus trabalhará dentro e através dos crentes. E onde os crentes não souberem mais o que fazer, o próprio Deus aparecerá e dirá às pessoas o que devem fazer, e as pessoas falarão quando e como Deus quiser, e todas as medidas tomadas pelo mundo e seus representantes para erradicar a fé em Deus, no divino Redentor, serão uma fraca obra humana. Eles terão pouco sucesso, e isso aumentará sua indignação a tal ponto que farão decreto após decreto, mas sem sucesso real, sem atingir seu objetivo. Muitos certamente cairão fora da fé em Jesus Cristo durante este tempo, mas aqueles que se mantiverem firmes e O professarem sofrerão as mais severas provas; não mais entregarão o que possuem, pois Jesus Cristo significa muito mais para eles do que o poder terreno pode alguma vez oferecer-lhes....
