The soul.... The spiritual spark in the human being....

The human soul is the unification of countless soul-substances which are assembly points for spiritual strength, i.e. which are receptacles for the spirit of God. Each one of these countless substances was previously embodied somewhere else, that is, enclosed in an outer form for the purpose of the spirit’s higher development and for the prospect of later unification with an equal substance. Hence each single substance of the human soul has passed though every work of creation and has, so to speak, matured for its last embodiment on earth. The soul always assumes the same shape as its surrounding outer shape.... If a person with spiritual vision would contemplate the human soul in its composition he would be presented with an incredibly charming and varied picture. This work of God’s creation, invisible to human beings, is beyond description, both in its structure as well as in its usefulness. But a description of the formation of the soul would only confuse human thought for he cannot understand the countless miracles within the human body. What human beings understand to be ‘soul’ is all of creation in miniature. The soul is the innermost part of the human being and includes the whole of creation.... intended to become enlightened during its life on earth and in glorification of God to enjoy the delights of heaven.

The soul has the divine spirit within itself. Although the original substance of the soul is also spirit in all its phases of evolution.... the divine spark of spirit is placed into the incarnating soul of the human being by God Himself.... He instils His breath into the human being.... He places the divine into him and gives the soul the task to chose between the divine and the human during its last existence on earth. If the soul.... the spirit out of God which at one time had opposed God.... is now willing to unite with the divine spirit, the transformation of what was once far away from God begins and the human soul becomes enlightened. The unity of the human soul with the divine spirit occurs when the soul steadfastly overcomes all human desires, which, for the purpose of testing and for strengthening of the will, cling to the human body as temptation.... when it resists all that the body as such requires and willingly submits to the requirements of the divine spirit.

Then the soul finally surrenders its former resistance to God. It chooses God, it is no longer in conscious opposition to the divine and accepts the emission of love, the strength, to increase the spirit within itself, to bring about the unity of the spirit within itself with the spirit outside of itself, and thus consciously strives to draw closer to God. If, however, the body’s desire dominates then the divine spark of spirit stays dormant and completely buried deep within the human being, it cannot emit light and the soul dwells in utter darkness. Its earthly life goes by without the smallest accomplishment; the spirit within is condemned to stagnate, its earthly process is not a path towards higher development but a time of standstill or even regression. The divine spark of spirit in the human being had been ignored and therefore could not manifest itself. The strength of divine love could not flow into the being and, as a result, the unity with the spirit of the eternal Father could not take place either. The soul takes this lightless state, which it had chosen for itself on earth, across into eternity and there, with endless pain of regret, contemplates the wasted time on earth and now has to struggle far more strenuously to improve its situation....

L’âme - l’étincelle de l’esprit dans l’homme

L'âme de l'homme est la fusion d'innombrables substances animiques qui sont des points de recueil de la Force spirituelle, donc des vases de réception du spirituel de Dieu. Chacune de ces innombrables substances a été précédemment incorporée, c'est-à-dire renfermée dans une forme extérieure dans le but d’un développement ultérieur du spirituel et la possibilité de la fusion future avec la même substance. L'âme de l'homme au travers de ses substances individuelles est passée à travers chaque Œuvre de Création, l'âme est pour ainsi dire mûre pour la dernière incorporation sur la Terre. L'âme assume toujours la même forme que l'enveloppe extérieure qui la renferme, et à celui qui serait capable de la vue spirituelle, elle offrirait une image incroyablement fascinante et multiple, s'il voulait observer l'âme de l'homme dans sa composition. Cette Œuvre de Création de Dieu, invisible aux hommes, est indescriptible, que ce soit dans sa constitution comme aussi dans son utilité. Mais une description de la constitution de l'âme confondrait seulement les pensées de l'homme, parce qu'elles ne saisiraient pas les innombrables Miracles que le corps humain cache en lui. C’est une Œuvre complète de Création en miniature, qui maintenant est compréhensible en tant qu’«âme» par l'homme. L'âme est la partie intime de l'homme et comprend toute la Création destinée à se transfigurer dans la vie terrestre pour jouir des délices du Ciel en Louanges à Dieu.

L'âme cache en elle l'esprit divin ; la substance primordiale de l'âme est certes spirituelle dans toutes ses phases de développement, mais Dieu Lui-Même pose une étincelle divine d'Esprit dans l'âme qui s'incorpore dans l'homme. Il insuffle Son Souffle dans l'homme, Il remet en lui le Divin et Il met l'âme devant la tâche de se décider pour le Divin ou pour l’humain pendant sa dernière existence sur la Terre. Si maintenant l'âme, le spirituel de Dieu qui un temps fut rebelle à Dieu, veut maintenant s'unir avec l'Esprit divin, elle doit commencer maintenant la transformation de ce qui était loin de Dieu, et l'âme humaine doit s’éclairer. Et alors l'âme humaine s'unit ensuite avec l'Esprit divin, lorsqu’elle dépasse fermement tout désir humain qui est inhérent au corps humain comme la tentation en vue du renforcement de la volonté – lorsqu’il résiste à tout ce que le corps comme tel lui demande et qu’il se soumet volontairement à ce que lui demande l'Esprit divin.

Alors l'âme renonce définitivement à sa rébellion d'un temps contre Dieu, se décide pour Dieu, ne s'oppose plus consciemment contre le Divin et accueille le Rayonnement d'Amour, la Force, pour augmenter en elle le spirituel, pour établir la fusion du spirituel en elle avec le spirituel hors d’elle et maintenant elle cherche consciemment le rapprochement avec Dieu. Mais si le désir corporel prédomine, alors l’Etincelle de l'Esprit divin somnole en elle au plus profond de l'homme, il ne peut rayonner aucune Lumière et l'âme reste dans la plus profonde obscurité. Elle vit sa vie terrestre sans la moindre poussée, le spirituel en elle est condamnée à l'absence de vie, le chemin terrestre n'est pas un chemin de développement vers le haut pour elle, mais une période de stagnation ou bien même de rétrogradation. L’Etincelle de l'Esprit divin dans l'homme a été laissée inaperçue et donc elle ne pouvait pas s'exprimer. À l'être la Force de l'Amour divin ne pouvait pas affluer et donc l'unification avec l'Esprit du Père de l'Éternité ne peut jamais plus avoir lieu. Et l'âme sur la Terre est dans un état d'absence de lumière, elle l’emporte avec elle dans l'Éternité, pour se rappeler là avec d’infinis tourments et repentirs du temps perdu sur la Terre et maintenant elle doit mener une lutte très dure pour améliorer sa situation.
