Lack of strength.... prayer.... sigh of relief....
People often lack the strength to live, and it emerges from this that they desire too little strength from God, that they try to master everything by themselves but that their own strength is not sufficient against strong opposition and that they should therefore seek help where the outcome of every event is. Whether hardship and worry come upon people through their own fault or whether God Himself sends them suffering as a test, strength from God must always be called upon if this hardship is to be overcome. But man has lost this realization that God only wants to reveal Himself through suffering so that man remembers Him and takes refuge in Him. The will is extraordinarily weakened so that he often allows himself to be ruled by the adversity indifferently and without resistance instead of wanting to fight everything that is difficult and calling upon God's help to do so. If God is called upon for help, he will succeed in freeing himself from both the lethargy of the spirit and the captivity of the soul.... For the will to liberate oneself will become strong. The basic evil always has to be removed first, the will has to be freed again from the power of the adversary who has bound it, then it will express itself again according to God's will. And again the human being must come to the father of his own accord in his greatest need.... He must pray, for only prayer in spirit and in truth reaches God, and only this prayer can be answered by God. The sigh for strength can be sent up to the father in the most difficult emergency.... The more fervently and imploringly it rises to the heights, the more surely it will be heard. For God waits for this call that comes from the heart.... God wants the child on earth to stretch out its hands longingly towards Him, He wants it to regocnize its own weakness and surrender itself to the father in heaven.... that it desires to avail itself of His love and grace.... He wants it to come to Him in every need.... for He is willing to distribute His strength if only it is desired. Receive God into your hearts, regocnize that He is close to you and only waits until your heart turns to Him. Do not seek Him in the distance, open your heart and hear His voice.... He speaks to you like a loving father and will comfort you if you present your adversity to Him, for He is love after all, and this love wants to help you, yet you must desire it with an alert spirit, you must request strength from God at every hour, for every action and in every situation in life.... You must ask God for deliverance from the adversity you have caused yourselves by granting the adversary power over you and thereby weakening your will. Fervently ask God for deliverance from his power and you will truly not make a wrong request....

Gebrek aan kracht – Gebed – Verzuchting
Het ontbreekt de mensen vaak aan de kracht om te leven en het komt daar uit voort, dat ze te weinig naar de kracht uit God verlangen, dat ze proberen om alles vanuit zichzelf meester te worden, maar tegen sterke weerstanden is hun eigen kracht niet toereikend en daarom moeten ze daar, waar elke gebeurtenis uit voortkomt, hulp zoeken. Of nu nood en bezorgdheid door eigen schuld over de mensen komt, of God Zelf hun het leed ter beproeving stuurt, steeds moet om de kracht uit God gevraagd worden, als deze nood moet verdwijnen.
Maar de mens heeft dit inzicht, dat God Zich alleen door leed te kennen wil geven, zodat de mens aan Hem denkt en toevlucht tot Hem neemt, verloren. De wil is buitengewoon verzwakt, zodat hij zich vaak onverschillig en zonder tegenstand door de noodsituatie laat overheersen, in plaats van al het moeilijke te willen bestrijden en daartoe aanspraak te maken op de hulp van God. Als God om hulp gevraagd wordt, zal het hem lukken om zich te bevrijden, zowel uit de lethargie van de geest, als uit de gevangenschap van de ziel. Want de wil om zichzelf te bevrijden, zal sterk worden. Steeds moet eerst het ergste kwaad uit de weg geruimd worden. De wil moet weer vrij worden uit de macht van de tegenstander, die hem gebonden heeft, daarna zal hij zich weer overeenkomstig de wil van God uiten.
En de mens moet in zijn grootste nood weer vanuit zichzelf tot de Vader komen. Hij moet bidden, want alleen het gebed in de geest en in de waarheid dringt tot God omhoog en alleen dit gebed kan door God vervuld worden. De zucht om kracht kan in de ergste noodsituatie naar de Vader omhoog gestuurd worden. Hoe inniger en dringender deze zucht naar de hoogte stijgt, des te zekerder zal hij verhoord worden. Want God wacht op deze roep, die uit het hart komt. God wil, dat het kind op aarde de handen verlangend naar Hem uitstrekt. Hij wil, dat het kind zijn eigen zwakheid inziet en zich vol overgave aan de Vader in de hemel overgeeft. Dat hij ernaar verlangt om een beroep te doen op Zijn liefde en genade. Hij wil, dat het in elke nood naar Hem komt, want Hij is bereidwillig om Zijn kracht uit te delen, als ze maar verlangd wordt.
Neem God op in jullie hart. Besef, dat Hij in jullie meest directe nabijheid is en alleen wacht, tot jullie hart zich naar Hem toekeert. Zoek Hem niet in de verte, open jullie hart en hoor Zijn stem. Hij spreekt tot jullie als een liefdevolle Vader en zal jullie troosten, als jullie je nood aan Hem voorleggen, want Hij is immers de liefde en deze liefde wil jullie helpen, maar jullie moeten naar haar levende geest verlangen. Jullie moeten op elk moment, bij elke handeling en in elke levenssituatie om kracht uit God vragen. Jullie moeten God vragen om verlossing uit de nood, waar jullie zelf de oorzaak van zijn, doordat jullie ook voor de tegenstander macht ingeruimd hebben en daardoor werd jullie wil verzwakt. Vraag God innig om verlossing uit zijn macht en jullie zullen werkelijk niet vergeefs vragen.
