School of the spirit.... earth life as a station of education....

Every individual creature is subject to the law to complete the school of the spirit, and it has to do this compulsorily through all periods of development in order to, however, be released from compulsion in the last stage and now be free to make use of the possibilities which serve spiritual development. The earthly child can be taught in the most exhaustive way if it only wants to be taught.... Spiritual strength is always at its disposal to initiate it into everything worth knowing for the salvation of its soul. It also constantly receives spiritual admonitions which it can hear through the inner voice, and all this is only ever a means to an end to achieve the spiritual state of maturity in order to reach that height which signifies the sphere of light for the earthly being and which differs considerably from the unfinished beings' stay outside of this sphere. As long as the human being does nothing to improve his spiritual state, as long as he is only purely earthly concerned about his well-being, the soul's state will always remain the same as when it entered earthly existence. Then the soul will have reached a dead end.... it will not strive for higher development, it will neither seek spiritual nourishment nor knowledge and thus will not change its state in the slightest.... However, time on earth will slip away and days and years will be spent useless.... For the soul has no part in all experiences but only the body. What would be the soul's share is not tangible to the human being and thus often not desirable. And yet the only important thing on earth is that the spirit be awakened and come to development. For only then is earthly life the educational station for the human being, when the soul strives towards ever higher realization and thus consciously completes the school of the spirit and the result is the state of perfection, which ensures entry into spheres of light after bodily death and is therefore the purpose and aim of embodiment as a human being....

La scuola dello spirito - La vita terrena come stazione di formazione

Ogni singola creatura è sottomessa alla Legge ad assolvere la scuola dello spirito, e lo deve fare per obbligo attraverso tutti periodi di sviluppo, per essere però sospesa dalla costrizione nell’ultimo stadio ed ora è libero di sfruttare le possibilità che servono allo sviluppo spirituale. Il figlio terreno può essere istruito nel modo più esauriente, se soltanto vuole essere istruito. Gli sta a disposizione in ogni tempo la Forza spirituale che lo inizia in tutto ciò che è degno di sapere per la salvezza della sua anima. Gli giungono anche continuamente degli ammonimenti spirituali, che può percepire attraverso la voce interiore, e tutto questo è sempre soltanto il mezzo allo scopo, per raggiungere lo stato della maturità spirituale, per giungere così a quella Altura che significa per l’essere terreno la sfera di Luce e si differenzia notevolmente dalle sfere che si trovano al di fuori del soggiorno degli esseri imperfetti.

Finché l’uomo non fa nulla per migliorare il suo stato spirituale, finché e solo preoccupato in modo puramente terreno per il suo benessere, lo stato dell’anima rimarrà sempre lo stesso come era all’entrata nell’esistenza terrena. Allora l’anima è arrivata ad un punto morto, non aspira allo sviluppo verso l’Alto, non cerca né il Nutrimento spirituale, né la conoscenza e non cambia nemmeno minimamente il suo stato. Ma il tempo sulla Terra fugge, ed i giorni e gli anni vengono vissuti inutilmente, perché l’anima non ha parte in ogni esperienza, ma soltanto il corpo. Quello che sarebbe parte dell’anima non è afferrabile per l’uomo e così sovente non desiderabile. E malgrado ciò è l’unica cosa importante sulla Terra, che lo spirito venga risvegliato e giunga allo sviluppo. Perché solo allora la vita terrena è la stazione di formazione per l’uomo, quando l’anima combatte per giungere ad una conoscenza sempre più alta e quindi la scuola dello spirito viene assolta coscientemente ed il risultato è lo stato della perfezione, che assicura l’entrata nelle sfere di Luce dopo la morte corporea e quindi è scopo e meta dell’incorporazione come uomo.
