Immersion in spiritual problems.... flying high.... idleness of life....

The only possibility for the human being to leave the valley of earth matured and completely is to consciously immerse himself in spiritual problems, for only then will the spirit in the human being become active through free will, and the distance from the divine original spirit will then decrease to the same extent as the human being complies with the desire within himself which is directed towards the father of the universe. And thus it follows that the separation from the earthly child to the father is not insurmountable and that it is only up to the individual's will to bridge this gulf, and this through precisely that flight into spiritual spheres which can be completely successful if the earthly child consciously devotes itself to this work. Anyone who only sees his earthly task in spiritually distancing himself from earth, who believes he will find his true home far above earth and who, through the strength of this belief, seeks contact with this spiritual world, will again and again have the opportunity to increase his knowledge of spiritual things, and he will be introduced to everything he needs to know and can thus undertake the high flight in complete certainty of reaching the final aim. Thus the earthly world can only ever be looked at with worldly eyes, it fulfils worldly desires and is also exploited in every respect in a purely worldly way, whereas the spiritual eye can wander into endless distances and what it sees there satisfies the spirit's longing and is therefore desired and striven for again and again. People do not consider what spiritual attention is at their disposal, they disregard that which exceeds all earthly value.... they chase after pseudo-goods and carelessly pass by real wealth, and their end will be that they will have to recognize the idleness of their life. They will leave the valley of the earth in the poorest spiritual state and will have to struggle bitterly in the beyond for what they could easily acquire on earth and rejected through their own fault where it was offered to them....

Verdiepen in geestelijke vraagstukken – Hoge vlucht – Nutteloosheid van het leven

De enige mogelijkheid om het aardse dal gerijpt en volmaakt te verlaten, is voor de mens het zich bewust verdiepen in geestelijke vraagstukken. Want pas nu wordt de geest in de mens uit vrije wil werkzaam en de verwijdering van de goddelijke oergeest wordt in dezelfde mate kleiner als de mens het verlangen, dat op de Vader van het heelal gericht is, in zich vervult. En zo volgt hieruit, dat de scheiding van de het mensenkind met de Vader niet onoverkomelijk is en het enkel aan de wil van de afzonderlijke mens ligt om deze kloof te overbruggen. En dit juist door de vlucht naar geestelijke sferen, die een volledig succes kan betekenen, als het mensenkind zich bewust aan deze arbeid overgeeft.

Degene, die de aardse opdracht alleen maar beschouwt als het zich in de geest verwijderen van de aarde, die het ware thuis ver boven de aarde gelooft te vinden en die door de kracht van dit geloof aansluiting zoekt bij deze geestelijke wereld, heeft eeuwig en altijd weer gelegenheid om zijn kennis over geestelijke zaken te vergroten. En hij wordt ingevoerd in alle voor hem benodigde kennis en kan dus de vlucht naar de hoogte ondernemen in de volste zekerheid om tot het uiteindelijk doel te geraken.

Zo laat de aardse wereld zich alleen maar met wereldse ogen bekijken. Ze vervult wereldse begeerten en wordt ook in ieder verband puur werelds benut, terwijl het geestelijke oog kan zwerven in eindeloze verten en, door wat hij daar ziet, het vurige verlangen van de geest stilt en er daarom steeds weer naar verlangen en het nastreven zal.

De mensen denken er niet aan, welke geestelijke schenking hen ten dienst staat. Ze geringschatten dat, wat al het aardse in waarde overtijgt. Ze jagen schijngoederen na en gaan achteloos aan werkelijke rijkdom voorbij. En haar einde zal zijn, dat ze de nutteloosheid van hun leven moeten beseffen. Ze zullen in de gebrekkigste geestelijke toestand het aardse dal verlaten en in het hiernamaals bitter moeten strijden om dat, wat ze op aarde, waar hun het aangeboden werd, met gemak konden verwerven en door eigen schuld verwierpen.
