Work of the spiritual forces.... inner life.... grid.... mercy of God.... necessity of sorrow....

It is in the power of the most high to create whole worlds.... and it is also possible for Him to dissolve everything into nothingness, but what is of God will never perish, and even if the earth and its inhabitants become entangled in the deepest darkness, it will never be destroyed, but the good forces will immediately seek to win back all beings on earth. An endless battle will be waged against all those powers that oppose this endeavour of the good spiritual forces. Such an endeavour will certainly extend over thousands of years, but divine love will never cease, and this love will ensure that no being will forever distance itself from the supreme deity but will gradually approach its starting point again, albeit over a truly endless period of time.... Without question, the spiritual forces find themselves in situations where all their efforts and labour seem hopeless, but thanks to their perfection they can approach the most difficult problems.... they can initiate people into everything, both in the earthly and in the spiritual realm.... they can first train him to become a person capable of thinking and judgement, put questions into his heart that he seeks to fathom.... they can make the wonders of creation clear to him so that the spirit in him becomes active.... and after a person has been prepared in this way, they approach him with the most important task of life.... They direct his mind upwards towards the eternal creator, and now an awakening of the inner life begins in the quite pre-formed earthly man.... a searching and questioning.... a feeling and sensing. And once the human being has come this far, he is no longer lost for eternity, then the heavenly father Himself puts him in a position to nurture this inner life so that it grows and flourishes and bears fruit. Once a person has reached this stage, he can no longer fall back, for he has eaten the bread of life and will eternally desire it and yet also be satisfied. Only to the weary and sluggish is ascent tremendously difficult, for just as he does nothing to expose his body to any exertion, so he also leaves the soul in permanent inactivity, which is like death. For a spiritually active person is, as it were, at the source of life where he finds refreshment in abundance, yet, as in a desert, no refreshment will beckon to the sluggish person, he will only ever carelessly walk past this.... has no desire for spiritual strengthening, and therefore his soul is constantly in need as long as the body is empty of divine grace. Thus the soul does not leave its shell so easily.... (interruption)

(15.9.1938) This is, so to speak, like a lattice which can only be opened through the mercy and love of others.... If a person does not make himself worthy of this mercy, he cannot be assisted, but again the slightest deed of love is enough to give the soul God's mercy and love. In the sphere of the world beyond only mercy and love can intervene to help, for the soul is unable to do anything on its own.... it must only have the will to separate itself from matter and long upwards.... otherwise, however, it is completely dependent on the love of other spiritual beings or the prayer of earthly people, whereas its earthly existence gives it daily or hourly opportunities to cultivate a field of love for itself which will again bear rich fruit for its life in the beyond and it need not go hungry there. Either the soul leaves earthly life with a treasure of imperishable goods, such as works of love for its neighbour.... Or it stands completely empty at the entrance to eternity and remembers with remorse what it missed out on earth. The state of their helplessness is so extremely oppressive that, if humanity knew about it, they would never be so hardened as to prepare this state for their soul.... but even if they are told, they do not believe it and still remain unteachable, for all otherworldly messages disturb their enjoyment of life and therefore they prefer to deny everything and easily ignore things which come from the realm of the invisible. The world wants to be dealt with harshly.... with all love and kindness alone the divine saviour achieves nothing, for they do not hear this voice of love or deliberately ignore it.... then only such events can still bring help which shake the calm of man, that he only then realizes that he does not live arbitrarily on earth, but that everything must have its well-considered reason and final purpose.... If God is not heard in His love, then He must let the human being feel His power so that the resistance will be broken and he will recognize the greatness of the one Who created him....

영의 세력이 하는 일.... 내면의 삶.... 감옥.... 하나님의 긍휼.... 염려의 필요성....

온 세상들을 생성되게 하는 일이 지극히 높으신 분의 권세 아래 있다. 마찬가지로 그에게 또한 모든 것을 분해하여 사라지게 하는 일이 가능하다. 그러나 하나님으로부터 나온 것은 결코 멸망되지 않을 것이다. 이 땅이 이 땅의 거주자들과 함께 가장 깊은 어두움에 빠지면, 결코 소멸되지 않게 하고, 선한 세력은 이 땅의 모든 존재들을 다시 얻기 위해 노력할 것이다. 선한 영적 세력의 이러한 노력에 저항하는 모든 세력과의 끝없는 투쟁이 있을 것이다.

그러한 의도는 수천년 동안 계속될 것이다. 그러나 하나님의 사랑은 결코 멈추지 않는다. 이 사랑이 역사하여 어떤 존재도 가장 높은 신성으로부터 영원히 멀리 떨어져 있지 않고, 진정으로 끝없이 긴 기간이 걸릴지라도 서서히 자신의 출발점으로 다시 가까이 다가 간다. 의심의 여지가 없이 이 가운데 영의 세력들이 그들의 모든 수고와 일이 희망이 없게 보이는 환경에 처한다. 그러나 그들은 그들의 온전함 때문에 가장 어려운 문제에 달려든다.

영적인 세력은 인간에게 이 땅과 영적인 영역에 관한 모든 것을 알려줄 수 있다. 그들은 너희를 먼저 이해할 수 있고 판단할 수 있는 사람이 되도록 훈련시킬 수 있고, 그가 헤아려보려고 하는 질문을 그의 심장 안에 넣어줄 수 있다. 그들은 창조의 기적을 그에게 분명하게 보여주어 그 안에서 영이 활성화되게 할 수 있다. 사람이 이렇게 준비가 된 후에 그들은 인생의 가장 중요한 과제를 가지고 그에게 다가간다.

그들은 그의 생각을 위에 계신 영원한 창조주를 향하게 한다. 이제 적절하게 교육을 받은 이 땅의 인간의 탐구하고 질문하고 더듬고 느끼는 내면의 생명이 깨어나기 시작한다. 인간이 여기까지 왔을 때 그는 더 이상 영원을 위해 버림을 받지 않게 된다. 그러면 하늘에 계신 아버지 자신이 이 내면의 생명을 돌볼 수 있게 되어, 내면의 생명이 성장하고 번성하고 열매를 맺게 한다. 한번 이 단계에 도달한 사람은 더 이상 물러날 수 없다. 왜냐하면 그는 생명의 양식을 먹었고 생명의 양식을 영원히 갈망하고 또한 배가 부르게 될 것이기 때문이다.

피곤해하고 게으른 사람들에게 성장하는 일이 지극히 어렵다. 왜냐하면 그가 자신의 몸을 힘들게 하는 일에 아무런 활동을 하지 않는 것처럼 그는 또한 혼을 끊임없는 활동하지 않는 죽음과 같은 상태에 두기 때문이다. 그러나 영적으로 활동적인 사람은 동시에 생명의 원천에 있다. 그는 풍성하게 쾌활함을 발견한다. 그러나 게으른 사람에게는 상쾌함이 없는 사막이 나타난다. 그는 항상 단지 이에 주의를 기울이지 않고 지나간다.

그의 혼은 영적으로 강하게 되려는 열망이 없기 때문에 항상 궁핍하고, 이런 상태가 육체가 하나님의 은혜를 받지 못하는 동안 계속되고, 혼은 그렇게 쉽게 자신의 겉형체를 벗어나지 못한다. (1948년 9월 15일) 이는 어떤 면에서는 단지 다른 사람의 긍휼과 사랑을 통해 열 수 있는 감옥과 같다. 사람이 자신을 이 긍휼을 받기에 합당하게 만들지 않으면, 어떤 도움도 받을 수 없다.

그러나 혼이 다시 하나님의 긍휼과 사랑을 받을 수 있기 위해 가장 사소한 사랑을 행하는 것으로 충분하다. 저 세상의 영역에서는 단지 자비와 사랑이 도움을 줄 수 있다. 왜냐하면 혼이 스스로는 아무것도 할 수 없기 때문이다. 혼은 단지 물질로부터 자신을 분리시키고, 위를 향하려는 의지를 가져야만 한다. 그러나 그렇지 않으면 혼은 다른 영적인 존재의 사랑이나 이 땅의 사람들의 기도에 전적으로 의존한다.

반면에 혼이 이 땅에 거하는 동안에는 매일 또는 매시간 스스로 사랑의 밭을 경작할 수 있는 기회를 제공받고, 사랑의 밭은 저 세상의 혼의 삶에 풍성한 열매를 주고, 혼은 저 세상에서 굶주릴 필요가 없다. 혼은 이웃 사람에게 행한 사랑의 역사인 불멸의 재화의 보물 창고와 함께 이 땅의 삶을 떠나거나 또는 전적으로 빈손이 된 가운데 영원을 위한 문 앞에 서서, 이 땅에서 소홀히 했던 것을 아주 후회하면서 생각하게 된다.

그들의 무력한 상태는 극도로 짓눌리는 상태여서 인류가 이를 알게 된다면, 그들의 혼을 이러한 상태에 있게 할 정도로 자신을 강팍하게 만들지 않았을 것이다. 그러나 그들에게 이를 말해줄 지라도 그들은 이를 믿지 않고 예전과 마찬가지로 가르칠 수 없는 상태에 머문다. 왜냐하면 저 세상에서 오는 모든 계시가 그들의 삶의 즐거움을 방해하기 때문이다. 그러므로 그들은 보이지 않는 나라에서 온 모든 것을 거부하고 쉽게 무시한다.

세상은 심한 다룸을 받기를 원한다. 구세주 하나님은 사랑의 음성을 듣지 못하거나 의도적으로 무시하기 때문에 모든 사랑과 선함으로 아무 일도 할 수 없다. 그러므로 사람들의 평온을 흔드는 사건들 만이 도움을 줄 수 있다. 이로써 그가 제멋대로 살도록 이 땅에 존재하는 것이 아니고, 모든 것이 잘 고려된 그의 이유와 목적이 있어야만 함을 비로소 의식하게 된다. 하나님이 사람이 자신의 사랑의 말을 듣지 않으면, 하나님은 사람에게 자신의 권세를 느낄 수 있게 해줘야만 한다. 이로써 저항이 무너지게 하고, 사람이 자신을 창조한 분의 위대함을 깨달을 수 있게 한다.
