5423 Lawful Return.... earthly walk....

June 28, 1952: Book 60

The path through the earthly life for the purpose of the upward-development of the spiritual is the only possibility for it to enter the original state again, which it once gave up voluntarily. That is why every being has to cover this path, because a sudden return to God is not possible, but everything has to reach God again in order to be able to fulfill the original purpose of working with Him in power and light as a God-like being. The being's will once robbed it of its strength and light and it stepped out of the divine order which was based on the being's perfection. This divine order must again be acknowledged by the being, and therefore it must first in the bound will and finally in free will incorporate itself into the order again, to regain the lost perfection and to use the power in divine will, which is now at its disposal again. The path through the earthly life is therefore a return to the order, which also takes place in the bound will but can fail in the state of free will.... that the being then consciously turns against the divine order again, thus falls back where it (actually) should ascend.

Consequently, the earthly life as a human being is extremely important, because in it the decision is made as to whether the former perfection will again be reached or whether the being will again lose the degree of maturity it reached in the bound state.... As a human, the being itself decides in regard to its fate during the eternity, or rather, it again postpones the state of perfection, the deification of its soul, for eternities and will therefore still be unhappy for eternities, because there is no beatitude without perfection. The earthly life therefore is the last opportunity for an infinite long time, even though God does not give up this soul either and it is also granted bliss in the end.... the being has to spend eternities in a state of torment, by the absence of light and lack of strength, because God cannot act against the law of the eternal order and therefore cannot supply light and strength to the being who does not integrate itself into His divine order.... By looking at your earthly life from this point of view, you humans then will also become aware of the great responsibility you bear for your soul, for the spiritual being who ought to strive towards perfection.... All the possibilities are available to you, you can reach the aim on earth.... yet not without your own will, for it was this one that distanced itself from God, and therefore it must also strive towards God again in order to restore the order which the being once overturned, which understandably also had an effect on itself, shown as an unhappy state, which is by no means caused by God and therefore has to be abolished.

The fact that you humans lack all knowledge about this is the consequence from it, for knowledge is light and this you gave up voluntarily. But you can again reach the light if you strive for it. Just the desire already to receive knowledge of the meaning and purpose of your earthly life will also lead you to knowledge. But you then should also do everything you recognize as caused by God, which corresponds to His eternal order. You thus will consciously strive for perfection, your earthly path then will be successfully covered, you then will integrate yourselves into the divine order of your own free will and approach the original state.... You voluntarily strive towards God and thus return to the One from Whom you once took your origin.... You return to the father's house, where you are awaited and received with full love, so that you now will never again leave Him, Who loves you and wants to prepare bliss for you without end....
