Fortschritt der Seele.... Göttlicher Wille....

Nur das kann dem Willen Gottes entsprechen, was zur Vervollkommnung der Seele beiträgt. Und es ist daran der Maßstab anzulegen, was zu beachten wichtig ist im Erdenleben. Es hat keinen Wert für die Ewigkeit, Dinge zu vollbringen, die keine Fortschrittsmöglichkeit für die Seele bedeuten, denn es nützet dann der Mensch die ihm zur Höherentwicklung gegebene Kraft in falscher Weise, und also geht ihr auch die Zeit, die ihr dazu gewährt ist, verloren. Wenn der Mensch sein Denken und Handeln einer Prüfung unterzieht, so muß er es immer in Einklang bringen können mit dem göttlichen Willen, d.h., es muß eine seelische Reife zur Folge haben, und es sind darum äußere Handlungen nicht nötig, die nicht ausgesprochene Liebeswerke sind, also dem Nächsten zum Heil gereichen....

Eine Reihenfolge guter Taten verbürgt das Ausreifen der Seele, es strebt die Seele der Vollkommenheit entgegen, folglich erfüllt dann der Mensch den göttlichen Willen, wenn er ausführt, was die Annäherung an Gott nach sich zieht. Die Entfernung von Gott war Anlaß zum Entstehen dessen, was den Menschen umgibt. Nun soll dieses dazu beitragen zur Verringerung der Entfernung. Was nun zum Erreichen dieses Zieles unternommen wird, ist dem Willen Gottes entsprechend. Was aber lediglich Selbstzweck ist, was irdischem Wohlleben dient oder zur Vermehrung der Materie beiträgt, vergrößert die Entfernung von Gott, kann also auch nicht Gott-gewollt sein.... Progress of the soul.... divine will....

Only that which contributes to the perfection of the soul can correspond to God's will. And this is the standard to be applied as to what is important to observe in earthly life. It is of no value for eternity to accomplish things which do not signify a possibility of progress for the soul, for then the human being will utilize the strength given to him for higher development in the wrong way and thus the time granted to him for this purpose will also be lost. If the human being subjects his thoughts and actions to scrutiny he must always be able to bring them into harmony with divine will, i.e. they must result in spiritual maturity, and therefore external actions are not necessary which are not expressed works of love, thus they will benefit his neighbour....

A sequence of good deeds guarantees the maturing of the soul, the soul strives towards perfection, consequently the human being then fulfils the divine will when he carries out what brings him closer to God. The distance from God was the cause for the emergence of that which surrounds man. Now this is to contribute to reducing the distance. What is now undertaken to achieve this goal is in accordance with God's will. But what is merely an end in itself, what serves earthly well-being or contributes to the increase of matter, increases the distance from God and therefore cannot be God-willed.... (interruption)
