Geestelijke wedergeboorte – Bemiddelaar – Opdracht

Het moment van de geestelijke wedergeboorte is buitengewoon verheffend en voor het lichaam toch maar weinig voelbaar, omdat de geestelijke wedergeboorte een vereniging van de ziel met de geest in zich is en een scheiden van het lichaam betekent. Het lichaam heeft weinig aandeel in deze daad van vereniging en daarom is dit ook vaak heel moeilijk, zolang het lichaam nog niet stil geworden is. Zolang hij nog een bepaald verzet tegen de ziel biedt, als ze deze vereniging met de geest aan wil vangen.

En toch geeft een innig gebed de ziel de kracht om haar wil tot uitvoering te brengen. En het gebed moet daarom als tegengif gebruikt worden als het verlangen van het lichaam te sterk is en de ziel zwak dreigt te worden. De geest in de mens worstelt eveneens om de ziel en zou haar graag de gelukzaligheid van de vereniging bezorgen en als de ziel dan zijn aandrang niet tegemoetkomt, krijgt het lichaam de overhand en dan wordt zijn verlangen vervuld.

De geest in de mens kan de ziel niet dwingen, precies zoals het lichaam geen dwang op de ziel uit kan oefenen. De ziel is er vrij in om te kiezen waar ze voor kiezen wil. Maar de keuze voor de geest levert de ziel geestelijk loon op, terwijl de ziel enkel een aards loon in het vooruitzicht heeft als ze voor het lichaam kiest. Het geestelijke loon is een totale hervorming van zijn denken, eeuwige waarheid en kennis, dus licht. Het aards loon bestaat uit de goederen van deze wereld, die onbestendig zijn en vergankelijk met de lichamelijke dood van de mens.

De mens, die wedergeboren is in de geest, hoeft geen aardse dood meer te vrezen, want zijn leven duurt eeuwig en hij legt het aardse lichaam alleen maar af om het eeuwige leven binnen te gaan zonder deze uiterlijke omhulling. Hij is dus wedergeboren tot een nieuw leven, waarin geen dood meer bestaat. De wedergeboorte van de geest sluit echter aardse vreugden en wereldse genietingen uit, want er kan niet tegelijkertijd aan de geest en het lichaam gedacht worden. De ziel kan slechts voor één van de twee kiezen.

Wie dus alleen maar wereldsgezind is, zal nooit van de wedergeboorte van de geest kunnen spreken. Hij moet al het wereldse mijden en zich daar in het hart volledig van scheiden. Pas dan kan de ziel de verbinding met de geest aangaan. En het volledig versmelten van beiden heeft de wedergeboorte tot gevolg, die onvoorstelbaar zaligmakend is, omdat ze de mens waardig maakt om de wijsheden uit God te ontvangen, omdat ze hem tot lichtdrager maakt en bijgevolg tot een schakel tussen God en de mensen.

Een bemiddelaar te kunnen zijn, die de medemensen de goddelijke wil bekend mag maken, is een genade van de grootste betekenis en verbonden met een opdracht, waarvan de vervulling weer de hoogste rijpheid van de ziel garandeert. En weer maken maar weinig mensen zich deze genade waardig en maar weinig mensen bieden zich aan God ten dienste aan en vragen Hem om een taak op aarde tot het welzijn van de medemensen. Maar deze weinigen worden door God in overvloed met Zijn liefde en genade bedacht en ze mogen op elk moment om deze genade en liefde vragen. Steeds zal God hun verzoeken gehoor schenken en hen met kracht bedenken, opdat ze in staat zijn om hun taak te vervullen, opdat de kracht van de geest in hen werkt tot zegen van de mensheid.

Spiritual rebirth.... mediator.... task

The moment of spiritual rebirth is immensely uplifting for the soul and yet only slightly perceptible to the body, since spiritual rebirth is a union of the soul with the spirit within itself and signifies a separation from the body. The body has little part in this act of union and therefore this is often very difficult as long as the body has not yet become still, i.e. as long as it still puts up a certain resistance to the soul if it wants to enter into this union with the spirit. And yet heartfelt prayer gives the soul the strength to carry out its will. And prayer should therefore be used as an antidote when the body's desire is too strong and the soul threatens to become weak. The spirit in the human being also struggles for the soul and would like to bring it the delights of union, and if the soul then does not comply with its urging, the body gains the upper hand and its desire is fulfilled.... The spirit in man cannot force the soul, just as the body cannot exert any compulsion on it. It is up to the soul what it chooses. The decision in favour of the spirit, however, earns the soul a spiritual reward, whereas only earthly rewards await the soul if it decides in favour of the body. The spiritual reward is a total transformation of its thinking, eternal truth and knowledge, i.e. light.... The earthly reward is the goods of this world, which are impermanent and transient with the physical death of man. The person who is born again in the spirit no longer needs to fear earthly death, for his life lasts forever and he only lays down the earthly body in order to enter eternal life without any outer shell. He is therefore reborn into a new life in which there is no more death. However, the rebirth of the spirit excludes earthly pleasures and worldly enjoyment, because spirit and body cannot be considered at the same time. The soul can only decide in favour of one or the other. He who is therefore only worldly-minded will never be able to speak of the rebirth of the spirit. He must avoid everything worldly and completely separate himself from it in his heart, only then can the soul enter into union with the spirit, and the complete fusion of both results in rebirth, which is unimaginably blissful because it makes the human being worthy of receiving the wisdom from God, because it makes him a bearer of light and consequently a link between God and people. To be able to be a mediator who is allowed to announce the divine will to fellow human beings is a grace of utmost importance and associated with a task whose fulfilment again guarantees highest maturity of soul, and again only few people make themselves worthy of this grace, and only few people offer themselves to God for service and ask Him for an earthly task for the benefit of fellow human beings. But God provides these few with His love and grace in abundance, and they may request this grace and love at any time.... God will always listen to their requests and provide them with strength so that they are able to fulfil their task, so that the power of the spirit may work in them for the blessing of humanity....
