배신자.... 명예.... 영광.... 이 땅의 보상.... 신들....

나를 깨닫고 다시 떠난 교자들에게 화가 있을 것이다. 저 세상에 그들의 운명은 쉽지 않을 것이다. 그들은 비록 옳은 것을 깨달았지만 거절했고 이제는 나를 대항하는 증언을 한다. 왜냐하면 내가 나에게 속한 사람들에게 약속한 왕관보다 이 땅의 권세와 호의가 그들을 더 많이 자극하기 때문이다. 이 땅에서 그들의 삶은 아마도 명예와 명성과 위신면에서 더이상 바랄 것이 아무것도 없을 것이다. 자신을 위해 세상의 명성과 명예를 주장하는 사람은 나의 은혜를 받지 못할 것이다.

왜냐하면 단지 겸손한 사람이 나의 은혜를 받을 자격이 있기 때문이다. 세상에 경의를 표하는 모든 일은 세상으로부터 보상을 받아야만 하고, 이 보상은 혼에게는 빈약할 것이다. 하늘의 양식이 너에게 주어질 때 너는 그들보다 더 높이 서있다. 왜냐하면 사람들이 인정받기를 갈망하는 곳에서 너에게 하나님의 은혜가 주어지기 때문이다. 신처럼 칭송을 받아야 할 만큼 위대한 사람은 하나님 앞에 없다. 모두가 자기사랑과 지배욕과 자존심을 발산한다. 자유로운 사람은 이를 느끼고 외면한다. 반면에 세상의 노예들과 그들의 지배자는 연합을 하고, 그들의 복종을 나타내는 희생제사를 그들의 신에게 드린다.

수많은 사람들이 다가오는 시대를 영적으로 혁명적인 전환으로 여기지 않는다. 그들은 단지 이 땅의 일에만 주의를 기울이고 가장 중요한 것인, 즉 하나님 자신이 이 땅의 모든 사건을 어떻게 여기는 지에 주의를 기울이지 않는다. 사람들이 무의미한 문제에 얼마나 많은 생각을 하는가! 그들이 여기 이 땅에 사는 목적에 대한 질문을 얼마나 중요하지 않게 여기는가! 그들이 내면의 삶을 바라봐야만 하도록, 일어나는 다기오는 시대에 나타나는 일이 영원한 신성과 어떤 관련이 있는지 전적인 관심을 갖도록 하기 위해 그들에게 황량한 시간이 확실하게 필요하다.

인생의 유일한 과제는 혼을 구원하는 일이고, 혼의 완성과는 전혀 관련이 없는 문제를 지속적으로 제기하는 것보다 훨씬 더 중요한 일이다. 오, 사람들은 어떤 에너지를 사소한 일에 낭비하고 있는가! 궁핍과 불행 속에서 훨씬 더 많은 도움이 필요한 자신의 혼을 얼마나 적게 생각하는가! 모두가 나의 피조물인 너희는 앞으로 서로 간에 평화롭게 살고, 민족의 가치를 구분하지 말라.

내가 그들 모두를 창조하지 않았느냐! 누가 자신과 같은 종류들 중에서 자신이 가장 가치가 있다고 거만한 생각을 하느냐? 너희가 삶의 진정한 의미를 파악했다면, 공격을 받고 있는 자를 돕고, 억압하는 자를 경멸하며 피하는 고귀한 원동력이 너희 심장을 지배해야만 한다. 이 땅의 고통의 시간이 너희에게 여전히 많은 것을 가르쳐 줄 것이다. 그러나 너희가 겸손해지기 전까지는, 너희가 손을 들어 도움을 간청하기 전까지는, 너희가 먼저 하나님께 영광을 돌리고 예수 그리스도를 하나님의 아들로 인정하기 전까지는, 이 땅의 고난이 너희를 떠나지 않을 것이다.

왜냐하면 모든 죄를 지고 사람들을 위해 십자가에서 고난을 받으신 분이 이 땅에서 가장 작은 사람이었고 백성의 왕으로 올라갈 모든 권세를 가졌다. 그는 이 땅에서 가장 가난한 형제들처럼 가난했고, 모든 가난한 사람들의 친구이자 구원자였고, 그를 구원한 것은 십자가상의 수치스러운 죽음이었다. 이 땅에서 세상의 명예에 참여하는 사람은 주 예수 그리스도로부터 아주 멀리 떨어져 있다. 그는 먼저 왕좌에서 내려와 십자가에 못박힌 그 앞에, 우주와 모든 생물의 통치자 앞에 무릎을 꿇어야 한다. 이로써 주 예수 그리스도가 그를 흙에서 들어 올려 자신의 아버지의 심장으로 끌어안게 해야 한다.

Renegades.... honour and glory.... earthly reward.... gods....

Woe to the apostates who recognized Me and yet left Me again.... Their fate will not be easy in the hereafter.... They rejected, although they recognized what was right, and now bear witness against Me, for they are more tempted by earthly power and favour than by the crown I promised to My own.... And so their life on earth will certainly leave nothing to be desired in terms of honour, fame and prestige, yet they sacrifice their soul to it and depart from the world in poverty.... Whoever claims fame and honour for himself will be without My grace, for only the humble are entitled to it.... everything that pays its tribute to the world must also receive its reward from the world, and this will be meagre for the soul. If you are offered the food of heaven, you will stand high above them, for you will be granted divine favour where they crave human recognition. There are no people so great before God that they should be celebrated like gods.... Everything breathes only self-love, imperiousness and pride.... The free man feels this and turns away, whereas the slaves of the world and its rulers unite and offer their gods the sacrifice of their subservience....

Thus countless people do not see the coming time as a spiritually revolutionary turning point.... instead, they only pay attention to earthly goings-on and do not focus their attention on the most important thing, how God Himself relates to all earthly events. How many thoughts people give to trivial problems and how unimportant the one problem seems to them.... the question for what purpose they are here on earth.... And it is certainly such a desolate time that they would have to turn their attention to their inner life and would like to pay full attention to every time phenomena, in what connection these are with the eternal deity. Life's only task is to redeem the soul.... it is infinitely more important than to raise perpetual questions of controversy which have absolutely no connection with spiritual fulfilment.

O, what strength these people waste on trivialities and how poorly they consider their own soul.... which is far more in need of help in adversity and misery.... As a result, live peacefully side by side, you who are all My creatures, and make no distinction between the value of the peoples.... Have I not created them all, and who will presume to be the most valuable of their kind? If you had grasped the true meaning of life, then the noble instinct should prevail in your hearts, which turns to protect the oppressed and abhors the oppressor. The time of suffering on earth will still teach you many things.... But before you do not become humble and stretch out your hands, pleading for help.... until you first give glory to God and recognize Jesus Christ as the son of God, the suffering on earth will not turn away from you, for He Who took all guilt upon Himself and suffered on the cross for mankind.... He was one of the least of these and had all power to exalt Himself as king of the people.... He remained poor like His poorest brothers on earth, He was a friend and saviour of all the poor, and His redemption was the ignominious death on the cross.... Whoever on earth becomes a partaker of worldly honours is far inferior to the lord Jesus Christ.... He must first descend from his throne and humbly bow his knees before Him, the crucified.... before the ruler of the universe and all creatures.... so that He may raise him from the dust and draw him to His father's heart....
