La lotta fra la Luce e la tenebra

Stanno lottando le Forze buone e cattive per l’anima dell’uomo ed ambedue hanno grande potere dato da Dio, perché sia gli esseri di Luce sono compenetrati dalla Forza, come anche gli esseri che sono lontani da Dio, perché questi ultimi traggono la forza dall’avversario di Dio, al quale come essere spirituale primo creato stava a disposizione illimitatamente e non gli era stata sminuita da Dio. Ma gli esseri di Luce possono riportare la vittoria, se l’uomo stesso si lascia a loro mentre la sua volontà è rivolta a Dio e con ciò non oppone nessuna resistenza all’agire degli esseri di Luce. L’uomo stesso deve stabilire il soprappeso attraverso la sua volontà. Se ora la volontà si china al maligno, aumenta la sua forza, e la sua anima soccombe all’agire dell’avversario di Dio. Ma l’uomo non è mai esposto senza protezione al potere maligno, ma gli esseri di Luce sono sempre pronti di lottare per la sua anima, loro gli oppongono sempre la loro Forza e cercano continuamente di rivolgere la volontà dell’uomo a Dio, per stabilire il soprappeso e con ciò vincere i poteri maligni. Ma che a questi ultimi era stato assegnato il diritto di opprimere le anime, è necessario per la liberazione dello spirituale caduto e quindi legato, perché altrimenti non potrebbe usare la libera volontà, con la quale soltanto può aver luogo la Redenzione. Ed ora ambedue le Forze cercano di conquistare per sé la volontà dell’uomo, ambedue cercano di far valere la loro influenza sull’anima, ma in direzione differente. Gli esseri di Luce sono compenetrati dalla Volontà di Dio ed il loro tendere è di trasferire sugli uomini la Volontà divina, cioè di guidare il pensare dell’uomo in modo che si inserisca totalmente nell’Ordine divino, che la volontà umana si sottometta totalmente alla Volontà divina. Nello stesso modo tendono le forze cattive alla loro meta, guidano il pensare dell’uomo a cose terrene, all’aumento di beni terreni e con ciò cercano di scatenare gli istinti terreni nell’uomo, che sono antidivini, cioè privi di qualsiasi amore per Dio e per il prossimo, che nascono solo nell’amor proprio, che attirano l’uomo sempre in basso nel regno dell’avversario di Dio.

Battle between light and darkness....

Good and bad forces fight for the human being's soul and both are given great power by God, for both the beings of light are permeated by strength as well as the beings which are turned away from God, because the latter draw their strength from God's adversary to whom it was unlimitedly at his disposal as an originally created spiritual being and it is not diminished by God either. But the beings of light can win the victory if the human being abandons himself to them by turning his will towards God and thus not opposing the light beings' activity. The human being himself must establish the predominance through his will.... As soon as the will leans towards evil it increases its strength, and his soul is subject to the activity of God's adversary. But the human being is never defencelessly at the mercy of the evil forces but the beings of light are constantly ready to wrestle for his soul, the beings of light constantly oppose them with their strength and constantly try to direct the human being's will towards God in order to gain the upper hand and thereby defeat the evil forces. But the fact that the latter were granted the right to oppress the souls is necessary for the redemption of the fallen and therefore bound spiritual because otherwise it could not use free will, in which alone redemption can take place. And now both forces try to win the human being's will for themselves, both try to exert their influence on the soul but in different directions.... The beings of light are permeated by God's will, and their endeavour is to transfer divine will to people, i.e., to direct the human being's thinking such that it fully adapts to divine order, that the human will fully subordinates itself to divine will.... In the same way the bad forces strive towards their aim.... they direct the human being's thoughts towards earthly things, towards the increase of earthly goods, and thereby they seek to unleash earthly instincts in the human being which are contrary to God, i.e. which lack all love for God and neighbour, whereas they are only born in self-love, which always drag the human being down into the realm of God's adversary....
