La lotta dello spirito con il corpo per il predominio sull’anima

Ogni essere ha nostalgia della sua liberazione, perché lo stato non-libero è un tormento per tutto lo spirituale. Ma nell’incorporazione come uomo lo spirituale sente bensì la sua non-libertà, ma non il corpo e l’anima. L’anima è pure inizialmente senza conoscenza della sua situazione e di conseguenza dà ascolto solamente al desiderio del corpo. Quest’ultimi però si sente libero e cioè, ancora più libero, più tiene in considerazione il mondo, cioè le gioie terrene e perciò non impone a sé stesso nessun impedimento. Allora, l’anima cede alla spinta del corpo e lo spirito rimane inconsiderato. Così lo spirituale nell’uomo deve subire lo stato legato, finché gli viene dato l’aiuto da parte dell’anima, perché soltanto lei può aiutarlo, mentre pensa di più allo spirito in sé che al corpo. Proprio per questo l’esistenza terrena, anche se deve procurare la liberazione allo spirito, è il più grande pericolo per l’anima, finché non si è ancora liberata dalle bramosie del corpo. Di conseguenza il corpo contende con lo spirito per la supremazia sull’anima. Questa è la lotta della Luce con l’oscurità. Gli esseri della Luce lottano con le potenze dell’oscurità per l’anima, per lo spirituale, che si è allontanato da Dio e non si rende ancora del tutto conto, che fa parte della Luce eterna, della Divinità. Quando l’anima ha raggiunto la conoscenza, si volgerà liberamente a Dio. Le potenze oscure però impediscono con tutti i mezzi, che l’anima giunga alla conoscenza. Il corpo sarà l’ostacolo maggiore, che l’anima si rivolga allo spirito. Finché il corpo viene ancora messo in prima fila, per l’anima esiste poca possibilità di diventare sapiente, che giunga alla conoscenza della sua situazione, cioè la sua lontananza da Dio. Solo quando non dà più attenzione alle pretese del corpo, comincia a riflettere sul vero scopo della vita terrena. Solo allora l’avversario perde il potere; le forze oscure non hanno più tanta influenza sull’anima. Si distoglie dal corpo e si rivolge allo spirito, e quando è stabilito questo legame, si fa chiaro e limpido in lei. Quindi, lo spirito in lei ha vinto ed ha conquistato il dominio sull’anima, che si unisce ora totalmente con lo spirito ed ora la liberazione dell’essere è una conseguenza inevitabile. Ma la lotta è incredibilmente difficile e richiede pieno impegno sia da tutte le Forze buone, come anche dalla volontà umana, la quale soltanto opera la decisione dell’anima. La volontà dell’uomo soltanto è determinante, dove l’anima si rivolge, la volontà può decidere per il corpo, ma anche per lo spirito, quest’ultimo però porterà ora all’essere la definitiva liberazione dalla f orma.

Struggle of the spirit with the body for supremacy over the soul....

Every being longs to become free because the unfree state is agonizing for all spiritual beings. But in the embodiment as a human being the spiritual certainly feels its lack of freedom, but not the body and the soul. The soul is likewise initially without realization of its situation and consequently only listens to the body's desires. The body, however, feels free, and indeed the freer the more it can take the world, i.e. earthly pleasures, into account and therefore hardly imposes any restraints on the body. Thus the soul yields to the body's urging and the spirit remains unheeded. And so the spiritual in man must endure the banished state until help comes from the soul. For only the soul can help it by thinking more of the spirit within itself than of the body. And that is why being on earth, although it is supposed to bring liberation to the spirit, is the greatest danger for the soul as long as it has not yet freed itself from the desires of the body. Consequently, the body fights with the spirit for supremacy over the soul.... And this is the struggle of light with darkness.... The beings of light wrestle with the powers of darkness for the soul.... for the spiritual that has distanced itself from God and is not yet fully aware of it that it belongs to the eternal light.... to the deity.... Provided the soul has attained realization, it will voluntarily turn to God. The dark forces, however, prevent the soul from attaining realization by all means. And the body will be the greatest obstacle for the soul to turn to the spirit. As long as the body is still placed in the foreground there is little possibility for the soul to become aware that it comes to the realization of its situation.... i.e. its distance from God.... Only when it no longer pays attention to the demands of the body does it begin to think about the actual purpose of life on earth. Only then does the adversary lose power; the dark forces no longer have so much influence on the soul.... It turns away from the body and towards the spirit within, and once this bond is established, it becomes bright and clear within.... Thus the spirit within it has triumphed and gained dominion over the soul, which is now completely united with the spirit and the inevitable consequence of this is the liberation of the being. Yet the battle is unspeakably difficult and requires the full commitment of all good forces as well as the human will, which alone brings about the soul's decision. The will of the human being alone is decisive as to where the soul turns.... the will can decide in favour of the body, but also in favour of the spirit, but only the latter will bring the being final liberation from the form....
