L’essere interiore - Apparenza esteriore - La preghiera nello Spirito e nella Verità

Come l’uomo si predispone verso l’eterna Divinità, è determinante per il suo valore morale e per il grado di maturità dell’anima. In ciò è determinante senza questione il sentimento interiore dell’uomo, non la sua predisposizione contrassegnata nell’esteriore. Questo sentimento interiore si manifesterà però solamente, quando la calma dell’uomo viene scossa, quando l’uomo capita in situazioni di vita, in cui non può conservare nessuna apparenza esteriore, ma lascia cadere ogni maschera. Solo allora si può parlare dell’essere di un uomo, e soltanto allora si decide, quale posizione assume verso Dio. L’uomo può darsi nell’esteriore del tutto diversamente senza esserne però giudicato, perché non gli aggrada mettere in aperta mostra il suo essere più interiore; viceversa però può anche fingere verso il suo prossimo un essere nobile, che non è i n accordo con il suo essere interiore. E perciò l’uomo non potrà facilmente emettere un giusto giudizio sul prossimo. Ma Dio conosce le manchevolezze e debolezze dell’uomo come il suo valore e volontà. E vuole, che rinuncino all’apparenza, Lui vuole, che loro stessi si riconoscano e riflettano sul loro vero essere, riconosca Dio e tutto ciò che è buono e nobile in tutte le situazioni della vita, e si rifugia in Lui nella sua miseria, e quindi l’uomo impara a pregare bene, cioè nello Spirito e nella Verità. Non pronuncia solo meccanicamente fra sé e sé, ma la supplica del suo cuore sale su a Dio ed ha preso il ponte, che conduce di là nel Regno spirituale. Ma innumerevoli uomini che dapprima sono stati spensierati e superficiali, che portavano Dio solo nella bocca e diversamente gli stavano lontani, ora Lo cercano e Lo trovano anche, perché la caducità del terreno ha scosso la loro propria sicurezza ed insegnato a pensare diversamente. L’uomo è facilmente incline a giudicare, ma Dio E’ longanime e misericordioso. Egli cerca di salvare ciò che è ancora del tutto caduto all’avversario, anche se i Suoi mezzi sembrano crudeli ed incomprensibili per gli uomini.

Inner being.... outer appearance.... prayer in spirit and in truth....

Man's attitude towards the eternal deity is decisive for his moral worth and the maturity of his soul. Without question, the decisive factor here is man's inner feeling, not his outwardly characterized attitude. However, this inner feeling will only be expressed when a person's calm is shaken, when he finds himself in situations in life where he cannot maintain an outward appearance, but lets go of any mask. Only then can we speak of a person's nature, and only then will it be decided what position he takes towards God. A person can present a completely different outward appearance without, however, being condemned for it, for he cannot openly display his innermost nature; conversely, however, he can also feign a noble nature towards his fellow human beings which is not in harmony with his inner nature. And therefore man will not be able to make a fair judgement of his fellow human being so easily.... But God knows people's shortcomings and weaknesses as well as their value and will. And He wants them to renounce appearances, He wants them to recognize themselves and reflect on their true nature.... Everything that is good and noble recognizes God in all situations in life and takes refuge in Him in times of need.... and thus the human being learns to pray correctly, i.e. in spirit and in truth.... He does not just speak mechanically to himself, but the supplication of his heart rises up to God and the bridge is entered which leads over into the spiritual kingdom. Countless people, however, who were previously careless and superficial, who only spoke of God and were otherwise distant from Him, now seek Him and they also find Him, because the transience of the earthly has shaken their self-assurance and taught them to think differently. Man is easily inclined to judge, but God is long-suffering and merciful.... He seeks to save what has not yet completely fallen to the adversary, even if His means seem cruel and incomprehensible to people.... (interruption)
