Ogni inizio è difficile – La Forza della volontà - La preghiera nella guerra – La contesa sulla Parola di Dio

Ogni inizio è difficile, così cominciava la tua Opera. Ad ogni grande lavoro deve precedere una lotta, affinché maturi prima la volontà di iniziare questo lavoro. E si mostrerà solo nella perseveranza di una persona, quanto forte è la sua volontà. Se all’inizio di un lavoro ci vogliono già delle grandi Forze di volontà, queste devono aumentare, più l’Opera è progredita. C’è sovente il pericolo che la volontà si paralizzi, che la persona si scoraggi attraverso fallimenti oppure subentra una certa indifferenza in ogni lavoro iniziato, che ha poi per conseguenza che la volontà diventi debole, ed allora l’Opera capita facilmente nel pericolo di essere interrotta e di rimanere incompleta. In un tale pericolo saresti anche tu, se non chiedessi in continuazione l’Aiuto. Quest’Opera non deve subire nessuna interruzione, dev’essere continuata con tutto l’amore sotto il Sostegno degli esseri spirituali attivi dall’Alto, se soltanto ti metti volenterosa a disposizione del Signore e Salvatore. Il Signore ha i Suoi saggi Piani, e nulla dev’essere eseguito nella costrizione, e l’uomo stesso deve perciò sempre e sempre di nuovo lottare e resistere ad ogni tentazione, che potrebbe indebolire la sua volontà. In seguito ricevi la Parola pronunciata nel tuo cuore, ed in ogni momento ti viene aperta la Fonte, dalla quale puoi attingere, ed il tuo cuore si ristorerà, e la tua volontà sarà ferrea e sempre soltanto pronta a servire il Signore. Potrai penetrare nell’interiore dell’uomo e riconoscere la maturità del suo spirito. Ti sarà riconoscibile l’umiltà e la modestia negli occhi dell’uomo, e sarai ben in grado di distinguere l’autentico dal falso. Ma allora dipende anche da te di dedicarti con maggior fervore al tuo compito, perché il tempo si avvicina sempre di più, in cui inizierà la lotta per la Parola di Dio. Nel pericolo di una guerra gli uomini sanno ben pregare, ma guardano con indifferenza alla lite per la Parola di Dio, che è mille volte più importante, perché può avere delle conseguenze ancora molto più terribili per l’anima. Questa lotta li tocca così poco e dovrebbe comunque risvegliare tutto il loro orrore da un lato e la loro prontezza d’intervento dall’altra, ed a questa lotta dovrebbe essere data molta più attenzione, perché quello che da questa può diminuire o perdere l’anima, è così immensamente importante, la perdita infinitamente dolorosa e la conquista pure così indicibilmente beatificante. Perciò la preghiera dell’uomo dev’essere rivolta molto di più alla lotta e alla contesa per la vittoria della Parola di Dio, affinché l’uomo ne esca indenne.

All beginnings are difficult.... willpower.... prayer during war.... controversy over God's word....

All beginnings are difficult.... this is how your work began. Every great work must be preceded by a struggle that first matures the will to tackle this work. And only then will a person's perseverance show how strong his will is. If increased willpower is already present at the beginning of a work, it will have to increase the further a work has progressed. There is often a danger that the will will slacken, that the person will become discouraged by failures or that a certain indifference will set in with every work begun, which then results in a weakening of the will, and then the work is easily in danger of being broken off and remaining unfinished. You would also be in such danger if you did not continue to ask for help. This work should not suffer any interruption, it should be continued with all love with the support of the active spiritual beings from above, and so the strength will also continue to be transmitted to you if only you willingly place yourself at the lord and saviour's disposal. The lord has His wise plans, and nothing is to be carried out under compulsion, and therefore time and again the human being himself must struggle and withstand every temptation which could weaken his will. Then you will hear the word spoken in your heart, and the fountain from which you may draw will be opened to you at all times, and your heart will be refreshed, and your will will be strengthened and constantly ready to serve only the lord. You will be able to penetrate the inner being of man and recognize the maturity of his spirit. Humility and modesty will be recognizable to you in the eyes of man, and you will be able to distinguish the genuine from the false. But then it is also up to you to devote yourself to your task with increased fervour, for the time is drawing ever closer when the battle for the word of God will begin. People know how to pray when they are in danger of war, but they are relaxed about the battle for the word of God, which is a thousand times more important because it can have even more dreadful consequences for the soul. This battle affects them so little and yet should arouse all their horror on the one hand and their full willingness on the other, and far more attention should be paid to this battle. For what the soul can reduce or lose through it is so immensely important.... the loss is infinitely painful and the gain just as unspeakably blissful. Therefore, man's prayer should be far more focussed on the battle and struggle for the victory of the word of God, so that man may emerge from it safe and sound....
