Sobreestimar los bienes materiales....

Buscáis extraer todo de la vida, lo que os ofrece; os esforzáis por alcanzar los bienes de este mundo con todos los sentidos, acumuláis posesiones y acumuláis celosamente tesoros terrenales.... Ni siquiera consideráis lo inútil que es todo lo que deseáis.... No consideráis qué es realmente la materia ni cuál es vuestra relación con ella. Los bienes materiales sin duda deberían serviros, podéis subordinarlos a vosotros, pero no debéis dejaros dominar por ellos....

Y hacéis esto cuando vuestros pensamientos y deseos se dirigen únicamente a la adquisición de bienes materiales. Entonces ya os habéis convertido en esclavos de la materia, o incluso de aquel cuyo dominio es el mundo material. Pues toda materia es materia espiritual que una vez se apartó de Dios, se endureció por su resistencia a Él, y ahora, por la voluntad de Dios, se ve obligada a una función subordinada para volver a emerger de este estado endurecido.

Pero el ser humano era una vez lo mismo que después de un tiempo infinitamente largo, ha vuelto a ascender mediante el servicio involuntario, de modo que se le permitió desprenderse de sus envolturas materiales y recuperar cierto grado de libertad, para ahora también liberarse de su última envoltura material mediante una relación correcta de Dios y también frente a la materia, que ya la ha superado. Debe ayudar a la materia a servir, pero él mismo no debe dejarse dominar por ella. Sin embargo, el comportamiento de los seres humanos demuestra lo último....

La adicción por la materia se ha vuelto excesiva; los seres humanos viven únicamente centrados en adquirir lo que el mundo ofrece, y la alegría de poseer es una devoción abierta hacia aquel, del cual desprenderse es su tarea terrenal. Pues quien desea el mundo con sus bienes no anhela el reino que no es de este mundo. Pues quien desea al mundo recuerda poco o nada de su Dios y Creador; no tiene la relación correcta con Él, no es el “niño” que busca a su “Padre”. Aún tiene mucha comunión con aquel que es el señor del mundo material y se esfuerza a regresar a él, de cuyo poder Dios ya lo había ayudado tanto a través del viaje a través de la creación que le es fácil separarse por completo de él en la Tierra.

Pero el ser humano nunca podrá alcanzar esta liberación a menos que primero se libere del deseo de esos bienes materiales. Solo cuando empieza a despreciarlos, cuando ya no los valore más allá de función según el orden divino, solo cuando los bienes espirituales le resultan deseables, podrá recibir estos últimos y así completar la transición de este mundo al reino espiritual, y solo entonces podrá alcanzar la liberación completa, incluso del señor de este mundo. Y cada uno podría hacer esto si tan solo consideraría la inutilidad de los bienes materiales, si tan solo reflexionaría una vez acerca del valor de lo más deseable de este mundo en la hora de su muerte, que él mismo no puede determinar, pero que puede sobrevenirle en cualquier momento.

El ser humano vive y piensa solo en la vida, no en la muerte, que es igual de cierta.... y a regañadientes se sacude cualquier pensamiento sobre ella.... Y, sin embargo, sabe que no puede llevarse nada a la otra vida, nada de lo que ha adquirido en la vida terrenal.... sin embargo, se deja dominar por la idea de hacerse la vida terrenal lo más hermosa posible, y es constantemente influenciado de esta manera por el adversario de Dios, de modo que la codicia por los bienes materiales crece cada vez más, porque todos intentan superarse unos a otros y nadie piensa en lo pobres que realmente son y en qué necesidad pasarán al reino espiritual cuando llegue su hora.

Nadie puede adquirir bienes terrenales y espirituales a la vez. Solo los que se han hecho dueños de los bienes de este mundo, quienes se han esforzado únicamente por acumular bienes espirituales que perduren por toda la eternidad, serán ricamente bendecidos al final de su vida terrenal....

Overestimating material goods....

You seek to gain from life everything it offers you; you strive for the goods of this world with all your senses, you increase your possessions and eagerly collect earthly treasures. You do not even think about how worthless all that you desire is.... You do not think about what matter is in the first place and in what relationship you already stand to it. Material goods should indeed serve you, you can make them serve you, but you must not let yourselves be dominated by them.... And this is what you do when your thoughts and aspirations are exclusively directed towards the acquisition of material goods. Then you have already become the slave of matter or also the slave of him whose domain is the material world. For all matter is spiritual that once fell away from God, which hardened itself through its resistance to God and is now forced by God's will into a serving function in order to emerge again from the hardened state.... But the human being was once the same which, after an infinitely long time, worked its way up again through involuntary service, that it was allowed to shed the material coverings and has now regained freedom again to a certain extent in order to now also become free from its last material cover through a right relationship with God and also towards matter, which it has therefore overcome. He should help matter to serve, but he must not let himself be dominated by it. But the behaviour of people proves the latter.... The addiction to matter has become excessive, people only live with this aim in mind, that is, to acquire what the world offers them, and the joy of possession is an open devotion to that from which their earthly task is to detach themselves. For he who desires the world with its goods has no desire for the kingdom that is not of this world. For anyone who desires the world remembers little or nothing of his God and creator, he is not in the right relationship with Him, he is not the 'child' who seeks his 'father'.... He still has much fellowship with the one who is lord of the material world and strives to return to him, from whose power God had already helped him so far through his walk through creation that it is easy for him to completely detach himself from him on earth. But man can never accomplish this release if he does not first free himself from the desire for these material goods. Only when he learns to despise them, when he no longer attaches more value to them than that they serve him according to divine order, only when spiritual goods are worth striving for can he accept the latter and thus accomplish the change from this world to the spiritual kingdom, and only then will he succeed in complete detachment from the lord of this world. And everyone could do this if only he would consider the worthlessness of earthly goods, if only he would think about the value of even the most desirable things in this world at the hour of his death, which he cannot determine himself but which can be granted to him on any day. Man lives and therefore thinks only of life, but not of death, which is insecure for him.... and he shakes off every thought of it unwillingly.... And yet he knows that he cannot take anything into the kingdom of the beyond that he has acquired in earthly life.... Yet he allows himself to be dominated by the thought of making his earthly life as beautiful as possible, and again and again he is influenced by God's adversary in this sense, so that his greed for material goods will always increase because one tries to outdo the other and no-one thinks of how poor he really is and in what hardship he will cross over into the spiritual kingdom when his hour has come. But no human being can acquire earthly and spiritual goods together. Only he will be richly blessed at the end of his earthly life who has become master of the goods of this world, who has only sought to gather spiritual treasures that will last for all eternity....
