Truth comes from within.... desire for it....

Seek the truth within yourselves.... What is offered to you from outside need not always be truth, but you yourselves will not be able to judge it as long as you cannot be informed from within. Many things can be offered to you as truth, and even the greatest untruth is often disguised in such a way that it is accepted as truth. But first of all it requires the serious will to be offered truth.... Only then will you be able to examine what is offered to you and recognize it for what it is. The will to come closer to the truth is also at the same time the will to come closer to Me, because I Myself am the truth from eternity.... If I now recognize this desire in a person, then the possibility is already given to mentally guide him, thus to make knowledge accessible to him in the form of thoughts, to let him recognize correlations, thus to guide his thinking truthfully.... So then he stands.... still unconsciously.... with the one Who alone can provide him with information, and then he will oppose every misguided teaching with inner resistance but be open-minded towards the truth, for then he will have a certain ability to judge, he will be instructed from within.... My spirit has become effective in him, and he will now no longer be so easily deceived if he receives knowledge from outside which does not correspond to the truth because it did not originate from Me.... Every person is capable of testing who is only serious about not falling prey to error and lies.... who seriously desires truth. For the human being carries all wisdom within himself because he harbours the divine spiritual spark which knows everything and also wants to impart knowledge to the human being if he gives him the right to do so, i.e., desires to know. The human being is only isolated from Me as long as he behaves in this isolation himself.... He can give up his defensive position against Me at any time, and as soon as he thus desires to be connected to Me he also causes the spiritual spark within himself to secede.... And then the bond is already established, the isolation is lifted, for now the human being hears the voice of the one Who is the eternal truth and Who therefore also instructs him truthfully. But the desire for truth will always prove a certain degree of maturity, for love and truth cannot be thought of without each other, because they are My fundamental nature, because God - love and truth - are one and the same and because therefore only the person who acknowledges Me and lives in love can stand in truth. For the latter also seriously strives for truth, he seeks to penetrate knowledge which cannot be proven and which therefore can also never be fathomed purely intellectually.... (25.4.1957) And therefore truth cannot be transmitted to you humans in a scholastic way either.... For as soon as the preconditions are not fulfilled, as soon as the prerequisites for receiving the truth are not present, the human being will not recognize it either, even though it is offered to him. It has to resonate in him, as it were, for it is present in every human being, i.e. the spiritual spark in the human being, as a part of Myself, is also the truth, and what it emanates cannot be anything other than truthful knowledge. Only when you humans have grasped this will you also know the reason for the lie and error which is widespread in the world and which people accept far more willingly than the pure truth, and you will also understand why it is not possible to impart truthful knowledge to all people in a scholastic way. For the resistance towards it will remain as long as the human being closes himself off to the expressions of the spiritual spark dwelling in him or denies it any expression through an anti-divine attitude, through unbelief and unkindness. Everyone has the same right, the same claim to truth, but this must also be so desirable to him that he fulfils the conditions which are attached to the supply of truth. But anyone who thoughtlessly accepts all spiritual knowledge conveyed to him from outside, without desire for truth and therefore also serious examination, is closer to the one who is My adversary and thus an enemy of truth, who will always fight against Me by going against the truth.... He, too, will influence your thoughts but always meet with resistance where the bond with Me is established through loving activity and where the desire for the pure truth predominates. For My spirit will always be active there, the 'comforter', Whom I have promised to send to you and Who will "guide you into all truth"....

Waarheid komt van binnen - Verlangen ernaar

Wat u van buitenaf wordt aangeboden, dat hoeft niet altijd waarheid te zijn. U zelf echter zult niet in staat zijn het te beoordelen, zolang u niet van binnenuit opheldering kan worden gegeven. Er kan u veel worden aangeboden als waarheid. En zelf de grootste onwaarheid wordt vaak zo gecamoufleerd dat ze als waarheid wordt aangenomen. Maar er behoort vooreerst de ernstige wil toe, waarheid aangeboden te krijgen. Dan pas zult u ook in staat zijn het u aangebodene te onderzoeken en te herkennen als dat wat het is. De wil om dichter bij de waarheid te komen, is ook gelijktijdig de wil om dichter bij Mij te komen, omdat Ik zelf de Waarheid ben van eeuwigheid.

Herken Ik nu in een mens dit verlangen, dan is ook al de mogelijkheid gegeven hem in zijn denken te sturen, dus hem in de vorm van gedachten een weten te ontsluiten, hem samenhangen te laten inzien, dus zijn denken waarheidsgetrouw te sturen. Dan dus staat hij, nog onbewust, al in verbinding met Hem die hem alleen opheldering kan geven en dan zal hij tegen elke verkeerde leer een innerlijke weerstand inbrengen, voor de waarheid echter open staan, want dan heeft hij een zeker oordeelkundig vermogen, hij wordt van binnenuit onderricht. Mijn Geest is in hem werkzaam geworden en hij zal nu niet meer zo gemakkelijk kunnen worden misleid wanneer hem van buitenaf een weten toekomt dat niet overeenstemt met de waarheid, omdat het niet van Mij afkomstig is. Ieder mens is in staat te onderzoeken die het maar serieus meent niet de dwaling en de leugen ten offer te vallen, die ernstig naar waarheid verlangt. Want de mens draagt alle wijsheid in zich, omdat hij in zich de goddelijke geestvonk draagt, die - omdat het een deel is van Mij - van alles op de hoogte is en ook de mens het weten wil overbrengen, wanneer deze hem daartoe het recht geeft, dat wil zeggen begeert te weten.

De mens is alleen zo lang van Mij geïsoleerd als hij zichzelf in deze afzondering houdt. Hij kan altijd zijn afwerende houding jegens Mij opgeven en zodra hij dus met Mij verbonden begeert te zijn, zet hij ook de geestvonk in zich aan zich kenbaar te maken. En dan is de band al aangeknoopt. De isolering is opgeheven, want nu verneemt de mens de stem van Hem die de eeuwige Waarheid is en die hem dus ook waarheidsgetrouw onderricht. Maar steeds zal het verlangen naar waarheid ook een bepaalde graad van rijpheid bewijzen, want liefde en waarheid zijn niet zonder elkaar te denken, omdat ze mijn eigenlijk wezen zijn, omdat God, Liefde en Waarheid één zijn en omdat daarom ook alleen die mens in de waarheid kan staan die Mij erkent en in de liefde leeft. Want deze streeft ook geheel ernstig naar de waarheid, hij probeert binnen te dringen in een weten dat niet te bewijzen is en dat daarom ook nooit zuiver verstandelijk kan worden doorgrond.

En daarom kan u mensen de waarheid ook niet schools worden overgedragen. Want zolang aan de voorwaarden niet voldaan wordt, zolang de vereisten voor het ontvangen van de waarheid niet aanwezig zijn, herkent de mens deze ook niet, ofschoon ze hem wordt aangeboden. Ze moet als het ware in hem zelf de weerklank vinden, want aanwezig is ze in ieder mens, dat wil zeggen de geestvonk in de mens is als deel van Mij zelf juist ook de waarheid. En wat hij uitstraalt kan niets anders zijn dan een waarheidsgetrouw weten. Pas wanneer u mensen dit begrepen hebt, zult u ook op de hoogte zijn van de reden van de leugen en van de dwaling die in de wereld verbreid is en die de mensen heel wat bereidwilliger aannemen dan de zuivere waarheid. En u zult dan ook begrijpen waarom het niet mogelijk is alle mensen schools waarheidsgetrouw weten over te brengen. Want de afweer tegenover dit weten blijft bestaan zolang de mens zich afsluit voor de uitlatingen van de in hem wonende geestvonk of hem elke uiting belet door een God vijandige gezindheid, door ongeloof en liefdeloosheid. Ieder heeft wel hetzelfde recht, dezelfde aanspraak op waarheid, maar deze moet hem ook zo begerenswaardig zijn, dat hij aan de voorwaarden voldoet die aan de toevoer van waarheid verbonden zijn.

Wie echter gedachteloos al het hem van buitenaf overgebracht geestelijk goed aanneemt, zonder verlangen naar waarheid en daarom ook ernstig onderzoek, die staat hem nader die mijn tegenstander en dus een vijand van de waarheid is, die steeds weer tegen Mij strijden zal doordat hij tegen de waarheid optreedt. Ook hij zal uw gedachten beïnvloeden, maar steeds op afweer stuiten waar de band met Mij is aangeknoopt door liefdewerken en waar het verlangen naar de zuivere waarheid overheerst. Want daar zal steeds mijn Geest werkzaam zijn, de Trooster die Ik beloofd heb u te zenden en die u "in alle waarheid zal leiden".
