Mischief and misery.... God's will or permission....

The worldly man is satisfied with what satisfies his bodily senses and does not deprive himself of anything that satisfies his senses, even if he believes that he is indulging in 'spiritual' pleasures and only understands this to mean intellectually acquired goods, if he occupies himself with knowledge which again only concerns earthly things. Thus he feels good and does not deprive himself of anything because his soul does not push itself forward with its desire and cannot push itself forward either, since the body has the upper hand. But this state of contentment does not last until death, or only very rarely, because such a person usually ruins himself physically, because illnesses or increasing age prohibit those earthly pleasures or the fulfilment of bodily desires and the person is then often forced to think about himself, about his life and about the purpose of existence. And then God's love approaches him again and again and tries to hold him back from the world, He tries to impart strength to the soul that it influences the human being from within to detach himself from the previous striving and to free himself from worldly thoughts.... But the soul will only penetrate if it has a certain amount of strength which, however, must come to it from outside.... through help which can consist of good conversation, spiritual conversations or transmission of the divine word, through good books or through loving intercession of a fellow human being.... From this the soul receives the strength to also influence the body, and then a slow change of thinking can occur, and the rest of earthly life can still be used well for the maturing of the soul. Illness, misfortune and earthly hardship are therefore indispensable for people who give themselves too much to the world and are often the best and only means to learn to recognize the world's staleness. And these means are therefore used again and again and become ever more apparent the more humanity turns its gaze to the world. And that is why increased enjoyment of life, excessive earthly pleasures and the sensual performances of the worldly side will always be accompanied by phenomena of a negative kind, by misfortunes, illnesses and blatant misery, which is based on excessive enjoyment of life. People should, as it were, already experience in their own bodies the devastating effects which hedonism and intemperance produce, and they should thereby learn to recognize what the body actually is and what the life they have led up to now has brought them. For other means are unsuccessful with such worldly people, but these can still achieve what ideas and good speeches could not.... that they distance themselves from the world and escape the greatest danger of being devoured by it. For this reason, all apparent disaster in the last days should be regarded as divine will or permission which can also still have a beneficial effect, even if it is caused maliciously or also testifies to adversarial activity.... It can always bring people to their senses and result in a turning away from the world, and then their soul will be saved from a far worse fate after its recall from this world....

Desgracia y miseria.... Voluntad o consentimiento de Dios....

El hombre mundano se contenta con lo que satisface sus sentidos corporales y no le falta nada cuando sus sentidos se satisfacen, aunque crea que disfruta de placeres “espirituales” y sólo los entiende como un bien adquirido intelectualmente, cuando se ocupa de un conocimiento que nuevamente sólo se refiere a cosas terrenales. Entonces se siente cómodo y no carece de nada, porque su alma no se impulsa con sus deseos y tampoco puede avanzar porque el cuerpo tiene la ventaja.

Pero este estado de satisfacción no dura, sólo en muy raras ocasiones, hasta la muerte, porque una persona así suele destruirse físicamente, porque las enfermedades o la edad avanzada impiden esos placeres terrenales o la satisfacción de los deseos físicos y ahora la persona se ve a menudo obligada a pensar sobre sí misma, (04.09.1956) sobre su vida o sobre el propósito de la existencia. Y entonces el amor de Dios siempre se le acerca a él una y otra vez y trata de apartarla del mundo, trata de impartir fuerza al alma para que influya en la personas desde dentro para romper con los esfuerzos anteriores y liberarse de los pensamientos mundanos....

Pero el alma sólo penetrará si tiene una cierta fuerza, la que debe venir de fuera.... mediante la ayuda, que puede consistir en una buena conversación, en conversaciones espirituales o en la transmisión de la Palabra divina, a través de buenos libros o mediante la amorosa intercesión de un prójimo.... De esto el alma obtiene la fuerza para influir también en el cuerpo, y entonces puede ocurrir un lento cambio en el pensamiento, y el resto de la vida terrenal todavía se puede aprovechar para la maduración del alma.

Las enfermedades, las desgracias y la necesidad terrenal son, por tanto, indispensables para las personas que se dedican demasiado al mundo, son a menudo los mejores y únicos medios para aprender a reconocer la estanquidad del mundo. Y por eso se utiliza estos medios una y otra vez y se vuelven cada vez más evidentes cuanto más la humanidad dirige su mirada hacia el mundo. Y es por eso que el mayor disfrute de la vida, los excesivos goces terrenales y las actuaciones que deleitan los sentidos por parte del mundo siempre van acompañados de fenómenos de naturaleza negativa, desgracias y enfermedades y flagrante miseria, que son la base del excesivo disfrute de la vida.

Las personas deberían, por así decirlo, experimentar de primera mano los efectos devastadores que causan la autocomplacencia y la intemperancia y a través de esto deben aprender a reconocer lo que realmente es el cuerpo y lo que les ha aportado su vida anterior. Porque con personas tan mundanas otros medios no tienen éxito, pero aun así pueden lograr lo que las ideas y buenos discursos no fueron capaces de lograr.... que se aparten del mundo y eviten el mayor peligro de ser absorbidos por ello.

Por eso, toda desgracia aparente de los últimos tiempos debe considerarse como una voluntad o un permiso divino, que también puede tener un efecto beneficioso, incluso si tiene una causa maliciosa o atestigua acciones contrarias.... Siempre puede hacer que la gente entre en razón que resulta en un alejamiento del mundo, y entonces el alma de la persona se salva de un destino mucho peor después de su partida de este mundo....
