The church of Christ....

The congregation of Jesus Christ is made up by all believers who see in Jesus Christ their Redeemer, who believe in Him as the Son of God, Who descended to earth in order to offer the sacrifice of atonement as a human being for the whole of the human race.... and therefore want to follow Him.... The 'church of Christ', which He Himself founded on earth, has to be understood to be all profound believers; all, who seriously strive to be active Christians; all, who are not just Christians observing formalities; all, who have a living faith and consciously place themselves under the cross of Christ.... Jesus Christ must be acknowledged by the members of His church, and from this acknowledgment arises their duty to live in accordance with His teaching.... thus to consciously live a life of love, as He Himself exemplified to people and requested with His call 'Come and follow Me.... ' Anyone who complies with this call and acknowledges Him also belongs to the congregation which is described as the 'church of Christ'.... This is the invisible church which nevertheless can be and indeed is represented in every denomination because there are people everywhere who believe with heartfelt love in Jesus Christ, who are also absorbed by love for their fellow human beings.... who can be called true Christians, because they demonstrate by their way of life their affiliation to Him, Who crowned His activity of love with His death on the cross.

Hence this congregation exists wherever true Christians reside.... for they all belong in the church of Christ, and wherever two or three such Christians come together in His name He will be in the midst of them, the founder of the church of Christ, and will permeate them with His spirit.... Consequently their thoughts and words will also be right and even more relevant than the word of a preacher who is as yet not a living representative of the divine doctrine of love, whose words are not yet revealing his inner life, the spirit, which is the characteristic of the members of the church of Christ.... And this spirit will always express itself by plainly and clearly preaching and interpreting the Word of God.... which can also quite naturally take place in the smallest circle as a simple conversation wherever members of the church of Christ are together. For nothing of an external nature will confirm this membership except the individual person's spirit of love who strives towards Jesus Christ with a living faith in Him as the Son of God and Redeemer of the world, in Whose human shell God embodied Himself in order to redeem humanity from sin and death....

La Iglesia de Cristo (III)

La Comunidad de Jesucristo consta de todos los fieles que ven en Jesucristo a su Salvador, que creen en El como el Hijo de Dios, quien descendió a la tierra para ofrecerse como Hombre en sacrificio de expiación por la humanidad entera, y que por eso quiera seguirle. Bajo la "Iglesia de Cristo", que El Mismo fundó en la tierra, se entiende a todos los creyentes profundos, todos los que anhelan seriamente según esto, de ser cristianos de hecho, todos los que no son sólamente cristanos por forma o formalistas; todos los que están en la fe viva, y que conscientes se ponen bajo la Cruz de Cristo.

Jesucristo tiene que ser reconocido por los miembros de Su Iglesia, y que de ese reconocimiento resulte también la obligación de vivir según Su Doctrina, así que por lo tanto, llevar una conducta de vida como El Mismo la ha vivido a los hombres. Con este fín ha invitado mediante Su Llamada: "Sigueme", y quien obedece y Le reconoce, ese pertenece también a Su Comunidad, que es calificada como de "la Iglesia de Cristo."

Esta es la Iglesia invisible, la que, sin embargo, puede estar representada en cada religión, y que está también representada, porque en todas partes hay hombres que con entrañable amor creen en Jesucristo, y que se deshacen también por sus semejantes, a los que se pueden llamar verdaderos cristianos, porque con su conducta demuestran su afiliación a El, quien con su muerte en la Cruz coronó Su Obra de Amor en la tierra.

Esa Comunidad existe, por tanto, en todas partes, donde viven cristianos auténticos, pues todos ellos pertenecen a la Iglesia de Cristo, y cuando se reunan dos o tres cristianos así en Su Nombre, allí está El en medio de ellos y los realiza con Su Espíritu. Por lo cual serán justos los pensamientos y las palabras de dichos hombres y están más altas avaloradas que la palabra de un predicador, que todavía no es ningún representante vivo de la Doctrina divina, cuyas palabran no delatan aún la vida intrínseca del Espíritu, el cual es el distintivo de los miembros de la Iglesia de Cristo.

Y este Espíritu se expresará siempre en la forma, de que predica e interpreta la Palabra de Dios sencilla y claramente con lucidez, lo que puede suceder del mismo modo también en círculos pequeños de la forma más natural, incluso en conversaciones sencillas, donde estén juntos, miembros de la Iglesia de Cristo.

Pues ninguna cosa exterior confirma la calidad de miembro, sino únicamente el espíritu de amor de cada uno de ellos que se siente impulsado a Jesucristo con la fe más viva en El, como Hijo de Dios y Salvador del mundo, en cuya envoltura humana se encarnó y personificó el Mismo Dios, para redimir a los hombres del pecado y de la muerte.
