"My kingdom is not of this world.... "

My kingdom is not of this world.... And thus everything that is to lead to or contribute towards the attainment of My kingdom will not be of a worldly nature but can only have a spiritual character. My words which I spoke on earth can only be understood spiritually, and the observance of My word must have a spiritual effect, just as it only has to be expressed by every action being always an impulse of the heart, i.e. inner impulses alone are decisive as to what extent the human being takes possession of My kingdom. Neither worldly customs can increase the right to My kingdom nor active help given to the neighbour without the heart being involved. My kingdom is not of this world.... Do you believe that I require worldly or symbolic actions in order to make this kingdom of Mine accessible to you? Do you believe that I can take pleasure in externals which are more of a danger, because deep inner impulses subside in the human being as a result, but the externals distract him and finally are solely paid attention to by him. I truly did not give any encouragement for this through My word, yet the inner bond with Me, through which they attain high maturity of soul and thus can already occupy My kingdom on earth, was not enough for people, and they attached great importance to the fulfilment of certain customs which, however, are completely irrelevant for the attainment of My kingdom. Whoever keeps My commandments.... loves Me above all else and his neighbour as himself can also rightly call himself an aspirant of My kingdom. But it is never possible to gain it if My commandments are not observed. How often, however, do I miss the observance of My commandment of love in those who strictly adhere to outwardness, who strictly adhere to the commandments which were added by people to My commandment of love. How precisely people often comply with what their fellow human beings commanded them, yet I pay no attention to it as long as the soul is not involved in it.... (12.11.1947) although I also bless the will of those who believe to serve Me with it because the truth has not yet been conveyed to them. But it is My will that the truth penetrates and displaces what contradicts it. Consequently, it is My will that whoever receives the truth from Me shall speak up for it. It is My will that error be denounced, that people who still move in erroneous thinking be instructed, that they be given clarification by those who are My servants on earth, whom I have chosen to spread the truth, who hear My word and are therefore instructed by Me Myself in the pure truth. For it concerns the faster development of the soul.... You only have little time left and yet you can gain a considerable advantage if you live according to My will.... disregard everything external and work intensively on your soul, as soon as you base all thinking, speaking and acting on My commandment of love and receive My word wherever it is offered to you.... Hearing My word is urgently necessary, and wherever it is offered to you, there you will also receive blessings if your soul hungers and thirsts for them. And My word you shall hear.... For the sake of My word you should seek out the place where it is imparted to you, if you are not taught by Me directly or My word is conveyed to you through My servants. You should by no means feel bound by laws which did not originate from Me, for the Lawgiver from eternity is Me, and My law from eternity is: Love Me above all else and your neighbour as yourself.... Then you will surely gain My kingdom, which is not of this world....

"나의 나라는 이 세상에서 온 나라가 아니다."

나의 나라는 이 세상에서 온 나라가 아니다. 따라서 나의 나라를 이끌거나 나의 나라에 기여하는 모든 일은 세상적인 일의 종류가 아니라, 단지 영적인 성격을 가질 수 있다. 내가 이 땅에서 말한 나의 말은 단지 영적으로 이해해야만 한다. 나의 말을 따르는 일은 영적 효과를 나타내야만 하고, 모든 행동이 항상 심장의 이끌림에 따른 행동에서 나와야만 한다. 즉 사람이 어느 정도까지 나의 나라를 차지할 지는 내면의 자극이 결정적이다. 세상의 관습이 나의 나라를 향한 권리를 증가시킬 수 없고, 심장이 개입되지 않은 상태에서 이웃에게 행해지는 이웃 사랑도 또한 나의 나라를 향한 권리를 증가시킬 수 없다.

나의 나라는 이 세상에서 온 나라가 아니다. 너희는 내가 너희가 나의 나라에 접근할 수 있도록 하기 위해, 내가 세상적인 행동이나 상징적인 행동을 요구한다고 믿느냐? 너희는 내가 외적인 형식을 기뻐한다고 믿느냐? 외적인 형식은 오히려 위험이 된다. 왜냐면 외적인 형식은 인간의 깊은 내적 충동을 가라 앉게 하고, 산만하게 하고, 결국에는 단지 외적인 형식에 주의를 기울이게 하기 때문이다. 나는 진실로 나의 말씀을 통해 외적인 형식을 갖추도록 자극하지 않았다. 그러나 사람들은 나와의 내면의 연결로 만족하지 않았다. 사람들은 내면의 연결을 통해 그들의 혼이 높이 성숙하게 할 수 있다. 즉 그들이 이 땅에서 이미 나의 나라를 소유할 수 있지만, 그들은 어떤 관습을 지키는 일에 큰 가치를 둔다. 그러나 그런 관습은 나의 나라를 얻는 일과 전혀 상관이 없다.

내 계명을 지키는 사람은 무엇보다 나를 사랑하고, 이웃을 자신처럼 사랑한다. 이런 사람을 또한 나의 나라의 후보라고 부를 수 있다. 그러나 사람이 내 계명에 주의를 기울이지 않으면, 사람은 나의 나라를 절대로 얻을 수 없다. 그러나 외적인 것을 엄격하게 고수하고, 인간 편에서 나의 사랑의 계명에 추가한 계명을 엄격하게 고수하는 사람들이 나의 사랑의 계명을 지키지 않는 일을 내가 얼마나 자주 보느냐! 사람들이 이웃 사람들에게 명한 것을 얼마나 철저하게 지키느냐! 그러나 그 일에 혼이 참여하지 않은 동안에는 나는 그 일에 주의를 기울이지 않는다. (1947년 11월 12일) 비록 그들에게 진리가 아직 제공되지 않았기 때문에 이를 통해 나를 섬긴다고 믿는 사람들의 의지를 내가 축복하지만, 그러나 나의 뜻은 진리가 들어가고, 진리에 모순되는 것을 물리치는 일이다.

그러므로 나의 뜻은 누구든지 내게서 진리를 받는 사람이 진리를 대변하는 일이다. 나의 뜻은 오류가 드러나게 하고, 아직 잘못된 생각을 하는 사람들을 가르치고, 그들이 내가 진리를 전하도록 택한, 나의 말씀을 듣고, 이로써 나 자신에 의해 순수한 진리를 가르침을 받은 이 땅의 내 종들로부터 설명을 받게 하는 일이다. 왜냐면 이 일은 혼이 더 빠르게 성장하게 하는 일이기 때문이다. 그러나 너희에게 시간이 조금 밖에 남지 않았지만, 너희가 내 뜻대로 살고 모든 외적인 것에 주의를 기울이지 않고 너희의 혼에 대한 작업을 집중적으로 하면, 내 사랑의 계명에 따라 모든 생각을 하고 말하고 행하고, 너희에게 나의 말씀이 제공되는 곳에서 항상 나의 말씀을 영접하면, 너희는 아직 현저한 성장을 이룰 수 있다.

나의 말씀을 듣는 일이 긴급하게 필요하다. 나의 말씀이 너희에게 제공되는 곳에서 너희의 혼이 나의 말씀을 굶주려 하고 목말라 하면, 너희는 축복을 받게 될 것이다. 너희는 나의 말씀을 들어야 하고, 나의 말씀때문에 너희가 나에 의해 가르침을 받지 않거나 또는 나의 종들을 통해 나의 말씀이 너희에게 전해지지 않는다면, 너희는 나의 말씀이 너희에게 전달되는 곳을 찾아야 한다. 너희는 나에게 나오지 않은 법에 얽매여서는 절대로 안 된다. 왜냐면 내가 영원한 입법자이기 때문이다. 나의 영원한 법은 "무엇보다 나를 사랑하고 너희의 이웃을 너희 자신처럼 사랑하라" 이다. 그러면 너희는 반드시 이 세상에서 나온 것이 아닌 나의 나라를 얻게 될 것이다.
