Realisation of the worthlessness of the earthly.... afterlife....

What can earthly life still offer you if you have realised that life in the spiritual kingdom is far more valuable, that it is, after all, the actual life which is only preceded by a period of preparation.... the life of the soul in embodiment as a human being.... And when this time of preparation draws to a close, every thought must then be directed towards the afterlife, this afterlife must be eagerly awaited because it replaces the life in the last shell and the soul as a free spirit enters spheres which touch it in an extremely pleasant way if only the soul has reached a certain degree of maturity. Everything earthly must lose its appeal in view of this realisation and every day must only be regarded as an intermediate station. And thus the human being cannot be shocked by the knowledge of the near end, for if he has this knowledge he knows the cause and purpose of it, and the knowledge of it only contributes to a faster detachment from everything that belongs to earth. The human being has to become calm within himself, he only has to concentrate on spiritual knowledge, he has to strive to avoid every temptation and hand himself completely over to God so that he will be seized by His love, and then he will only live in God and his earthly life will not have been in vain. However, the knowledge of eternal truth is a gift of grace which the human being can and must acquire for himself through unselfish neighbourly love; but this always means overcoming selfish love and thus renouncing earthly joys and pleasures of his own accord.... Consequently, the human being must first give something before he can receive, he must not regard the earth with its appeals as desirable, but he must learn to despise it, only then does he relinquish what is still valuable to his fellow human beings. He gives it to the needy neighbour and receives something purely spiritual in return.... The spheres of light open up to him and radiate into his heart, which now detaches itself more and more from earthly things and exchanges spiritual knowledge for it, which now makes him consciously strive for spiritual life. The end will not come as a surprise to such people, for through knowledge they stand in deep faith and through faith again in the knowledge of God's eternal plan of salvation, of the meaning and purpose of earthly life and of the worthlessness of earthly matter. They live consciously and with God and will gladly exchange life for eternal bliss....

세상적인 것의 무가치함에 대한 지식. 죽음 후의 삶.

영의 나라의 삶이 훨씬 더 가치 있고, 실제적인 삶이고, 단지 인간으로 육신을 입고 혼이 삶을 사는 준비 기간이 필요하다는 것을 깨달았을 때, 이 땅의 삶이 아직 너희에게 무엇을 제공할 수 있겠느냐? 이런 준비 기간의 끝이 가까워지면, 모든 생각이 저세상의 삶으로 향해야만 하고, 저세상의 삶을 갈망하는 가운데 기다려야만 한다. 왜냐면 마지막 겉형체 안에서 사는 삶이 끝이 나고, 혼이 자유한 영으로써, 혼이 단지 특정한 정도의 성숙에 도달했을 때, 혼을 아주 행복하게 해주는 영역으로 들어가기 때문이다.

이런 깨달음 앞에서 이 땅의 모든 일은 그 매력을 잃게 돼야만 하고, 매일을 단지 중간에 거치는 과정으로 여겨야만 한다. 그러므로 사람은 가까운 종말을 아는 지식으로 인해 두려워하지 않게 될 수 있다. 왜냐면 그가 깨달음을 가지고 있다면, 그는 원인과 목적을 알기 때문이고, 이를 아는 지식이 단지 이 땅에 속한 모든 것으로부터 더 빠르게 자유롭게 되는 일에 기여하기 때문이다.

인간의 내면은 침착해야만 하고, 그는 단지 영적인 지식에 집중해야만 하고, 모든 유혹을 피하려고 시도해야만 하고, 자신을 전적으로 모두 하나님께 드려야만 한다. 이로써 자신이 하나님의 사랑에 의해 사로 잡혀야 한다. 그러면 그는 단지 하나님 안에서 살게 될 것이고, 그의 이 땅의 과정은 헛되지 않게 될 것이다. 그러나 영원한 진리를 아는 지식은 사람이 자신의 유익을 구하지 않는 이웃사랑을 통해 스스로 얻을 수 있고 그리고 얻어야만 하는 은혜의 선물이다. 그러나 이런 일은 항상 자기 사랑을 극복하는 일이다. 즉 자신이 동인이 되어 세상의 기쁨과 즐거움을 포기하는 일이다.

결과적으로 사람은 무언가를 받기 위해 먼저 희생해야만 한다. 그는 이 땅의 매력을 갈망할 만한 것으로 여기지 말아야 하고, 이를 경시하는 법을 배워야만 한다. 그러면 비로소 사람은 이웃 사람들에게 아직 가치 있는 것을 버릴 수 있다. 그는 도움이 필요한 이웃에게 그것을 주고, 그의 댓가로 순수한 영적인 것을 받는다. 그에게 빛의 영역이 열리고, 빛이 그의 심장 안으로 비춘다. 이 빛이 이제 점점 더 이 세상으로부터 자유롭게 하고, 사람은 그 대신에 이제 의식적으로 영적인 일을 추구하게 만드는 영적 지식과 교환한다. 이런 사람들에게는 종말은 놀랍게 다가오지 않을 것이다. 왜냐면 그들은 지식을 통해 깊은 믿음을 가지고 있고, 믿음을 통해 다시 하나님의 영원한 구원 계획과 이 땅의 삶의 의미와 목적과 이 땅의 물질의 무가치함을 아는 지식을 믿는 얻기 때문이다. 그들은 의식적으로 하나님과 함께 살고, 기쁨으로 삶의 기쁨과 영원한 축복을 교환할 것이다.
