Powerlessness of the strong against natural disaster....

The mighty strength on earth will not be able to do anything against the raging of the forces of nature, if God will speak through them. He will be small and weak and will have to endure the natural disaster, for one is stronger than he.... Who lord is over heaven and earth.... Whose strength will be recognizable and no human being will be able to oppose Him and put a stop to nature's raging. For it only obeys God's will, but where the will of God Himself is at work and upsets the elements of nature in order to prove His strength and power, there He also determines the end and the course of an event which is inconceivable in its extent and its effect. But people should learn to recognize Him, they should sense a higher power to which they are at the mercy and contact it through recognition and silent supplication for help. Furthermore, they should learn to recognize how small and weak the human being is in comparison to Him, even if great power is attributed to him on earth, even if his power appears unlimited on earth. Before God even the most powerful is small and lowly, and He can destroy his power in an instant. On the other hand, the weakest person on earth can be powerful if he uses the strength from God and works with it.... Then he can act in God's will and even command nature and it will obey him. For then the human being's will will be subject to God's will, and then God Himself, to Whom everything is subject, heaven and earth and all elements, will be active.... Yet these will appear small and lowly on earth, for their strength lies in faith and love, in a childlike mind which always and constantly seeks contact with the father from eternity.... Their strength lies in humility of heart, which never seeks to present anything on earth but walks quietly and humbly and thus never wants to be considered rulers before fellow human beings. But he who is strong and powerful on earth seeks to rule the world but lacks spiritual strength. And therefore he will have to recognize his powerlessness when God's voice sounds from above, and as a weak human being he will fear the forces of nature because he sees himself at their mercy without salvation. And thus he could also gain faith in a higher power, which he would have to recognize above him. But mostly his arrogant nature prevents him from submitting. He does not want to cede his power, he wants to rule and determine. And that is why he must feel his powerlessness, so that in the last hour he will realize and submit. Then the difficult hours will also become a blessing for him, even if he loses his physical life, as soon as he still submits himself in the face of death to the one Who created him and Who lets His voice be heard for his sake in order to win him for eternity....

자연 재해에 당한 사람들의 무기력.

이 땅의 권세 있는 자가 하나님이 자연을 통해 말할 때, 자연의 힘의 격노를 막을 수 없을 것이다. 그는 작고 연약할 것이고 자연 재해를 당해야만 할 것이다. 왜냐면 한 분이 그보다 강하기 때문이다. 주님은 하늘과 땅을 다스리고, 주님의 강함을 알아볼 수 있게 될 것이고, 어떤 사람도 주님께 저항할 수 없고, 분노하는 자연을 막을 수 없다. 왜냐면 하나님의 뜻 자신이 자신의 힘과 권세를 증명하기 위해 역사하고, 자연의 원소들이 소동을 일으킨 곳에서 자연은 단지 하나님의 뜻대로 복종하기 때문이다. 하나님은 또한 그 곳에서 규모와 그의 효과에 있어서 상상할 수 없는 일어나는 일의 끝과 과정을 정한다.

그러나 사람들은 하나님을 깨닫는 법을 배워야 하고, 그들이 처하게 된 높은 권세를 느껴야 하고, 이 권세를 인정하고 조용한 도움을 청하는 기도를 통해 이 권세와 연결을 이뤄야 한다. 그는 또한 비록 이 땅에서 그의 권력이 무한한 것처럼 보일지라도, 그가 이 땅에서 큰 권세를 받았다 할지라도, 하나님 앞에서 자신이 얼마나 작고 약한 지 깨닫는 법을 배워야 한다. 가장 큰 권세를 가진 사람도 하나님 앞에는 작고 볼품이 없고, 하나님은 그의 권세를 눈깜짝할 사이에 파괴할 수 있다.

반면에 이 땅에서 가장 약한 사람도 그가 하나님의 힘을 사용하고, 하나님과 함께 일하면, 큰 권세를 가질 수 있다. 그러면 그는 하나님의 뜻대로 행하고, 자연에게 명령할 수 있고, 자연이 그에게 순종할 것이다. 왜냐면 그러면 사람의 뜻이 하나님의 뜻에 복종하고, 하늘과 땅과 모든 원소와 모든 것이 복종하는 하나님 자신이 역사하기 때문이다. 그러나 그는 이 땅에서 작고 무의미하게 보일 것이다. 왜냐면 그의 강함은 믿음 안에 있고, 사랑 안에 있고, 영원한 아버지와 항상 끊임없이 연결되기를 추구하는 어린 자녀와 같은 마음 속에 있기 때문이다. 그의 강함은 심장의 겸손에 있다. 겸손한 심장은 이 땅에서 절대로 어떤 것을 내세우려고 하지 않고 조용하고 겸손하게 산다. 따라서 절대로 이웃 사람들 앞에서 통치자로 간주되기 원하지 않는다.

그러나 이 땅에서 강하고 권세 있는 사람이 세상을 다스리려고 하지만, 그에게 영적인 강함이 부족하다. 그러므로 하나님의 음성이 위로부터 들리게 되면, 그는 자신의 무기력함 깨달아야만 하게 될 것이고, 약한 사람으로서 그는 자연의 권세를 두려워할 것이다. 왜냐면 그가 구원받을 수 없게 자연의 권세에 당하기 때문이다. 그러므로 그는 또한 그가 자신 위에 계신 것을 인정해야만 하는 더 높은 권세를 믿는 믿음을 얻을 수 있다. 그러나 그의 교만한 성격이 대부분 그가 복종하는 일을 방해한다.

그는 자신의 권세를 포기하기를 원하지 않고, 통치하고 결정하기를 원한다. 그러므로 그는 자신의 무기력을 느껴야만 하고, 이로써 그가 마지막 시간에 깨달음에 도달하고, 자신을 복종시켜야 한다. 그가 죽음을 눈 앞에 두고 아직 자신을 창조하고, 자신 때문에 자신을 영원을 위해 얻기 위해 그의 음성이 들리게 하는 분에게 순복한다면, 비록 그가 자신의 육체를 잃더라도, 힘든 시간이 또한 그를 위해 축복이 된다.
