Higher development.... construction - activity.... destruction reveals decline....

Spiritual progress is approaching God, it is reducing the distance from God.... but God is the creator and sustainer of all things, thus the being which approaches Him must also endeavour to preserve divine creations. But God's adversary strives for the destruction of God's created works, and if the human being offers his hand to do so, if he is destructively active under his influence, he is also in bondage to him; he likewise opposes God, and this is a great spiritual decline which, although not particularly deeply felt on earth, is nevertheless decisive for the whole of eternity. The ultimate purpose must always be the creation of a useful object, then the destruction of matter can also be right before God, thus it can be regarded as a work of construction, whereas every action against an already existing work of creation, which is undertaken unkindly and to the detriment of the neighbour, must be regarded as a work of destruction contrary to God. Spiritual progress, however, is only possible through works of love, by which everything is meant which is helpful to the neighbour, which therefore does not violate the commandment of love for God and neighbour. However, spiritual higher development is the only aim on earth, consequently the human being's activity must be a constructive one, earthly progress must also be recognizable, a constant reshaping of external forms, so that the spiritual being sheltered in them can continue its course of development. And this is also, so to speak, a building up, even if works of creation are destroyed, because they have to arise again and serve a specific purpose, thus the human being helps the spiritual in form to develop higher, and the human being himself matures in his soul the more love becomes active in him. However, people who are not active in any way in the transformation of matter will remain at a standstill, even if they don't express themselves destructively, because spiritual progress necessarily involves an activity of love and this will also be recognizable as building up....

Höherentwicklung.... Aufbau - Tätigkeit.... Zerstörung verrät Rückgang....

Geister Fortschritt ist Annäherung an Gott, es ist ein Verringern der Entfernung von Gott.... Gott aber ist der Schöpfer und Erhalter aller Dinge, also muß das Wesen, das sich Ihm nähert, auch bestrebt sein, göttliche Schöpfungen zu erhalten. Der Gegner Gottes aber strebt die Zerstörung der geschaffenen Werke Gottes an, und so der Mensch seine Hand dazu bietet, so er unter seinem Einfluß zerstörend tätig ist, ist er ihm auch hörig; er stellt sich gleichfalls gegen Gott, und es ist dies großer geistiger Rückgang, auf Erden zwar nicht sonderlich tief empfunden, doch bestimmend für die ganze Ewigkeit. Es muß der letzte Zweck immer das Erschaffen eines nützlichen Gegenstandes sein, dann kann auch das Zerstören von Materie vor Gott recht sein, also als Aufbauwerk betrachtet werden, während als Gott-widriges Zerstörungswerk jedes Vorgehen gegen ein schon bestehendes Schöpfungswerk angesehen werden muß, das in Lieblosigkeit und zum Schaden des Nächsten unternommen wird. Geistiger Fortschritt ist aber nur möglich durch Liebeswirken, worunter alles zu verstehen ist, was dem Nächsten dienlich ist, was also nicht gegen das Gebot der Gottes- und Nächstenliebe verstößt. Die geistige Höherentwicklung ist jedoch das einzige Ziel auf Erden, folglich muß die Tätigkeit des Menschen eine aufbauende sein, es muß auch irdisch ein Fortschritt zu erkennen sein, ein ständiges Umgestalten von Außenformen, damit das darin sich bergende Geistige seinen Entwicklungsgang fortsetzen kann. Und es ist dies auch gewissermaßen ein Aufbauen, selbst wenn Schöpfungswerke zerstört werden, weil sie wieder neu erstehen und einen bestimmten Zweck verrichten müssen, also der Mensch dem Geistigen in der Form hilft zur Höherentwicklung, und der Mensch selbst reifet an seiner Seele, je mehr die Liebe in ihm tätig wird. Doch im Stillstand verharren werden die Menschen, die sich in keiner Weise betätigen an der Umgestaltung der Materie, selbst wenn sie sich nicht zerstörend äußern, weil zum geistigen Fortschritt unbedingt ein Wirken in Liebe gehört und dieses auch als Aufbau erkennbar sein wird....
