Divine commandments - guidelines....

By virtue of the guidelines given to the human being through the divine commandments he can also exercise spiritual control over his thoughts, words and actions at any time. And this is necessary if he wants to constantly progress in his development, for he can very easily fall into the error of becoming sluggish and neglecting the work on his soul as soon as he believes to live in accordance with God's will. Then there is always the danger of stagnation which he can very easily avert as soon as he exercises strict self-criticism and accounts for every thought, every word and every deed as to whether they are good, i.e. whether they correspond to God's commandments, Who only demands love. For God's adversary does not rest, he seeks to gain influence over the soul, over the human being's will, until the last hour. And therefore the human being is never out of danger of falling prey to him if he is not mindful and always takes God's commandments as a guideline for his way of life. Self-knowledge is the first thing a person needs if he wants to change from the bottom of his soul, for he will only strive for an improvement, a change for the better, if he discovers deficiencies in himself. In all humility he should ask God for the grace of self-knowledge, he should often hold up the mirror of his soul to himself and fight against everything impure, he should practice gentleness, peaceableness, patience and mercy, he should serve with love and be of an humble spirit, then he will also receive the strength to recognize his faults and correct them. For the human being cannot do anything without God's support, his will and strength are too weak if they are not strengthened by divine love. Yet the human being should muster the will to make himself worthy of divine strength of love. And thus he should work on himself and constantly think about his faults and weaknesses, only then will he be able to get rid of them, because with good will he will also receive the strength to fight against them. The divine commandments only demand love, and therefore it is easy to check how far one's thinking, speaking and acting corresponds to love of God and neighbour. And if this standard is applied the human being will exercise strict criticism of himself, he will not be negligent in his soul's work, he will wrestle and pray and thereby also gain possession of grace, he will unite with God ever more intimately through his prayer, and he will mature in his soul. For then he will live his earthly life consciously, he will try to shape himself according to God's will.... he takes God's commandments as a guideline and thus acts according to His word.... And he will never ever remain at a standstill but travel the constant path of ascent until he reaches the aim.... the union with God.... which can only be achieved if the human being changes to love, if he aligns himself with the nature of eternal love, which is supremely perfect, and if he thus strives to become perfect....

Les Commandements divins – les lignes de conduite

Grâce aux lignes de conduite qui sont données à l'homme à travers les Commandements divins, il peut exercer à tout instant un contrôle spirituel sur ses pensées, ses paroles et ses actes. Et cela est nécessaire s'il veut procéder constamment dans son développement, parce qu'il peut tomber très facilement dans l'erreur de devenir oisif et négliger le travail sur son âme, dès qu'il croit vivre selon la Volonté de Dieu. Il y a toujours le danger d'un arrêt qu’il peut facilement éviter dès qu'il exerce sur lui une sévère autocritique de chaque pensée, de chaque parole et de chaque acte pour se demander s'ils sont bons, c'est-à-dire s’ils correspondent aux Commandements de Dieu qui exigent seulement l'amour. Parce que l'adversaire de Dieu ne se repose pas, il cherche à conquérir l'influence sur l'âme, sur la volonté de l'homme jusqu'à la dernière heure. Et donc l'homme n'est jamais hors de danger de tomber vers lui, s'il n'est pas attentif et s’il ne prend pas toujours les Commandements de Dieu comme ligne de conduite de son chemin de vie. La connaissance de soi-même est la première chose. Si l'homme veut changer fondamentalement son âme, alors il tendra à une amélioration, un changement pour le Bien, lorsqu’il découvre en lui des défauts. En toute humilité il doit prier Dieu pour la Grâce de la connaissance de lui-même, il doit tenir souvent devant lui le miroir de son âme et combattre chaque impureté, il doit exercer la douceur de caractère, le pacifisme, la patience et la miséricorde, il doit servir dans l'amour et être d'un esprit sans arrogance, alors la Force de reconnaître ses erreurs et de les suspendre lui arrivera. Parce que l'homme ne peut rien faire sans le Soutien de Dieu, sa volonté et sa force sont trop faibles s'il ne parvient pas à un renforcement de ceux-ci à travers l'Amour divin. Mais l'homme doit avoir la volonté de se rendre digne de la divine Force d'Amour. Et donc il doit travailler sur lui et réfléchir constamment sur ses erreurs et ses faiblesses, seulement alors il pourra les déposer, parce qu'avec la bonne volonté il lui arrive aussi la Force de les combattre. Les Commandements divins exigent seulement l’amour et donc il lui est facile d’examiner jusqu'où ses pensées, ses paroles et ses actes correspondent à l'amour pour Dieu et pour le prochain. Et lorsque cette mesure est employée, l'homme exerce sur lui une sévère critique, il ne sera pas négligent dans son travail sur l'âme, il combattra et priera et avec cela il arrivera en possession de la Grâce, il s'unira toujours de nouveau avec Dieu à travers la prière et mûrira dans son âme. Parce qu'alors il vit consciemment sa vie terrestre, il cherche à se former selon la Volonté de Dieu, il prend comme ligne de conduite les Commandements de Dieu et donc il agit selon Sa Parole. Il ne se retrouvera jamais plus dans l'arrêt, mais il parcourra toujours le chemin de développement vers le Haut jusqu'à atteindre le but, l'unification avec Dieu, qui peut être atteint seulement si l'homme change dans l'amour, s’il s’adapte à l'Être de l'éternel Amour qui est outre mesure parfait et s'il aspire ainsi à devenir parfait.
