Self-overcoming.... strengthened will.... Christ's act of salvation....

A way of life according to the will of God requires great overcoming of oneself, thus a strong will. However, man cannot muster the strength of will on his own, since the will is often weakened to the point of complete lack of will due to the original sin through the former apostasy from God [here the sentence is changed in the manuscript as follows (sin of the former apostasy)]. Nevertheless, man can acquire the strength of will through heartfelt prayer to Jesus Christ, the divine redeemer.... This is the simplest yet surest means to defy all dangers, to be able to resist and to overcome oneself. And the weakest will will become strong, for this is what Jesus Christ died for on the cross.... With His death He bought people a strengthened will, and everyone may request this strengthened will who believes in Him and His act of salvation. The former sin bore man's weakened will.... Jesus Christ took upon Himself the sins of the world and thus also the consequence of sin.... the weak will. He redeemed the guilt of those who acknowledge His sacrifice, and thus He restores to them the strengthened will by virtue of which they can now lead a way of life according to God's will. It is a grace which He acquired for people on the cross which people are unable to grasp, for what lies helpless and weak on the ground can rise up and now work on itself full of strength and power; His will is strong, and a strong will is able to do anything.... However, free will remains untouched, for the grace of the act of salvation is only granted to it if it expresses its will to ascend through heartfelt prayer to Jesus Christ. Weakness of will need not prevent him from striving towards God, it is just that the human being cannot muster the perseverance to do so. And therefore he should appeal for a strong will for the sake of Jesus Christ, and his appeal will be heard as soon as he acknowledges Jesus Christ. And then he will be able to wage the battle against the world, which is expressed in the overcoming of himself. He has to renounce everything that belongs to the world, what his body desires, he has to sacrifice, i.e. give to his neighbour, what makes him happy, he has to put himself aside and do kindness to his fellow human beings, and all this requires overcoming, it requires a strong will which puts all good intentions into action. But this strong will can be requested at any time, and this prayer will never go unanswered....

Selbstüberwindung.... Verstärkter Wille.... Erlösungswerk Christi....

Es erfordert ein Lebenswandel nach dem Willen Gottes große Überwindung seiner selbst, also einen starken Willen. Die Willensstärke bringt aber der Mensch von sich aus nicht auf, da durch die Erbsünde durch den einstigen Abfall von Gott [hier ist der Satz in der Handschrift wie folgt geändert (Sünde des einstigen Abfalls)] der Wille geschwächt ist oft bis zur gänzlichen Willenlosigkeit. Die Willensstärke kann aber dennoch sich der Mensch aneignen durch inniges Gebet zu Jesus Christus, dem göttlichen Erlöser.... Dies ist das einfachste, aber doch sicherste Mittel, um allen Gefahren zu trotzen, um Widerstand leisten und um sich selbst überwinden zu können. Und der schwächste Wille wird stark werden, denn dafür ist Jesus Christus am Kreuz gestorben.... Er hat mit Seinem Tode den Menschen einen verstärkten Willen erkauft, und ein jeder darf diesen verstärkten Willen anfordern, der an Ihn und Sein Erlösungswerk glaubt. Die einstige Sünde trug den Menschen den geschwächten Willen ein.... Jesus Christus nahm die Sünden der Welt auf Sich und also auch die Folge der Sünde.... den schwachen Willen. Er tilgte die Schuld derer, die Sein Opfer anerkennen, und somit gibt Er Ihnen den verstärkten Willen zurück, kraft dessen sie nun einen Lebenswandel führen können nach dem Willen Gottes. Es ist eine Gnade, die Er für die Menschen erworben hat am Kreuz, welche die Menschen nicht zu fassen vermögen, denn was hilflos und schwach am Boden liegt, das kann sich erheben und nun voller Kraft und Stärke an sich arbeiten; sein Wille ist stark, und ein starker Wille vermag alles.... Der freie Wille bleibt aber unangetastet, denn die Gnade des Erlösungswerkes wird ihm nur zuteil, so er durch inniges Gebet zu Jesus Christus Ihm seinen Willen bekundet, zur Höhe zu gelangen. Die Willensschwäche braucht ihn nicht zu hindern, Gott anzustreben, nur bringt der Mensch die Ausdauer dazu nicht auf. Und daher soll er um starken Willen bitten um Jesu Christi willen, und seine Bitte wird erhöret werden, sowie er Jesus Christus anerkennt. Und dann vermag er den Kampf wider die Welt zu führen, der in der Überwindung seiner selbst zum Ausdruck kommt. Er muß sich von allem lossagen, was der Welt angehört, was sein Körper begehrt, er muß opfern, d.h. an den Nächsten hingeben, was ihn selbst beglückt, er muß sich selbst zurückstellen und den Mitmenschen Liebes antun, und alles dieses fordert Überwindung, es fordert einen starken Willen, der alle guten Vorsätze in die Tat umsetzt. Doch jederzeit kann dieser starke Wille erbeten werden, und es wird dieses Gebet niemals unerhört bleiben....
