Self-love in the afterlife prolongs the state of suffering.... willingness to help....

In the spiritual kingdom the activity of love has the same effect as on earth.... in an increased supply of strength, thus also in spiritual progress, for all activity of love paves the path to God, and closeness to God is the ultimate goal of all beings. Hence love is likewise preached in the spiritual kingdom, that is, the beings of light draw the unredeemed souls' attention to the fact that only love will bring them liberation, and they also provide them with every opportunity to develop themselves in love. No soul can develop itself upwards other than on the path of love, yet this is far more difficult in the spiritual kingdom than on earth as long as the soul is still ignorant, thus not yet enlightened. For then it only touches its own fate, it does not see the hardship of other souls because it is still very much in self-love, which is to blame for its ignorant state. And this self-love prevents it from selfless loving activity, for then the soul regards itself as the center, it feels unhappy, and unjustly so, for its self-love conceals its own faults, whereas it recognizes all faults of other souls and feels elevated above them. And so it cannot feel any love for its suffering environment. It is hard and unfeeling and takes no interest in the other souls, and as long as it does so it will also feel its hardship bitterly, which will only diminish if love is kindled in it and stimulates it into loving activity. And it often takes an infinitely long time until the soul softens and is willing to help of its own accord. And yet it cannot be stimulated into loving activity other than through instruction from the beings of light, for it has to decide of its own free will to be helpful, it has to put aside its selfish love, disregard its own hardship and try to alleviate the suffering of fellow-suffering souls, then its hitherto powerless state will change, the soul will feel the influx of strength and become increasingly more capable of helping and working with love. Its state will now become increasingly freer and it will realize that it is becoming increasingly lighter around it, it will be able to see things which make it happy, its knowledge will increase and its will to reach God will become ever stronger.... And thus her activity of love also becomes eager, for she recognizes the power and strength of love, she recognizes her goal and strives towards it.... she seeks to come close to God and to redeem herself through love....

L’amor proprio nell’aldilà prolunga lo stato di sofferenza - La volontà d’aiutare

Nel Regno spirituale l’attività d’amore ha lo stesso effetto come sulla Terra, in aumentato apporto di forza, quindi anche progresso spirituale, perché ogni attività d’amore appiana la via verso Dio, e la Vicinanza di Dio è l’ultima meta di tutto l’essenziale. Perciò pure nel Regno spirituale viene predicato l’amore, cioè gli esseri di Luce fanno notare alle anime non redente, che soltanto l’amore porta loro la liberazione ed offrono loro anche tutte le occasioni, per poter svilupparsi nell’amore. Nessun’anima può svilupparsi diversamente verso l’Alto se non sulla via dell’amore, ma questo è molto più difficile nel Regno spirituale che sulla Terra, finché l’anima è ancora ignara, quindi non sta ancora nella conoscenza, perché allora la tocca soltanto la sua propria sorte, non vede la miseria delle altre anime, perché si trova ancora troppo nell’amor proprio, che ha causato il suo stato ignaro. Questo amor proprio la ostacola nell’attività dell’amore disinteressato, perché l’anima considera poi sé stessa come punto centrale, si sente infelice ingiustamente, perché il suo amor proprio le vela i suoi propri errori, mentre invece riconosce tutti gli errori delle altre e si sente superiore a queste. Quindi non può sentire nessun amore per il suo ambiente sofferente. Lei è dura ed insensibile e non prende parte con le altre anime e fino ad allora sentirà anche amaramente la sua miseria, che diminuisce solamente quando divampa in lei l’amore e la stimola all’attività d’amore. Sovente passa un tempo infinitamente lungo, finché l’anima diventa morbida e per propria spinta è pronta ad aiutare. Non può essere stimolata diversamente all’attività d’amore che tramite l’ammaestramento da parte degli esseri di Luce, perché nella totale libera volontà deve decidersi alla disponibilità d’aiutare, deve retrocedere il suo amore dell’io, non badare alla sua propria miseria e cercare di lenire la miseria delle anime sofferenti, allora il suo stato inerme finora sperimenterà un cambiamento, l’anima sentirà l’apporto di Forza e sarà sempre più capace di aiutare e di agire nell’amore. Ora il suo stato diventa sempre più libero ed ora riconosce, che intorno a lei si fa sempre più chiaro, è capace di vedere delle cose che la rendono felice, il suo sapere aumenta e la sua volontà di giungere a Dio è sempre più forte. Così anche il suo agire nell’amore diventa sempre più fervente, perché riconosce il potere e la forza dell’amore, riconosce la sua meta e tende incontro a questa, cerca di arrivare vicino a Dio e di redimersi tramite l’amore.
