Responsibility of educators.... love of truth....

The person who exercises an educational ministry and leads the souls entrusted to him astray bears a tremendous responsibility. As soon as he is active as a teacher, he must also be completely convinced of what he is teaching, otherwise he must not transfer his knowledge to others. This is especially true for teachings that relate to spiritual matters, i.e. that are intended to educate the soul. If he is convinced of the truth of these teachings, then he also has the right to defend his conviction. However, in order to be convinced, he must have thought through the teachings himself and taken a stand on them with the full will to stand in the truth. Then he will also be able to justify his educational ministry before God, because he is now acting to the best of his knowledge when he fulfils this ministry. However, as soon as he only passes on knowledge that he himself has received in exactly the same way without being fully convinced of the truth of it, he is guilty of the educated thinking of the people entrusted to him, for he is, as it were, imposing knowledge on them that may be far removed from the truth. But he has the task of watching over their knowledge, he must protect them from error or from teachings that are so unclear that they only confuse their thinking, for this is his office, which he is to administer conscientiously. But he can fulfil his office with peace of mind if he takes refuge in God, if he asks Him for enlightenment and His help, thus entrusting the souls of the people entrusted to him to God so that He may protect them from error or wrong thinking. He must be aware of his responsibility and only want to represent the pure truth, then God will also strengthen his will and his power of realization, and he will only pass on what he can fully affirm, what is therefore regarded by him as truth. And that is why it is of particular importance for a teacher that he intimately connects himself with God and asks Him for His help and blessing, because not only his salvation but also that of the pupils entrusted to him is in danger if divine grace does not make his activity a blessed one, if God does not give him the fullest realization as to whether and when he is in the truth. For one day he will have to answer for himself and he will be called to account for the souls to whom he should proclaim the truth....

De verantwoordelijkheid van de onderwijzers – Liefde voor de waarheid

De mens, die een onderrichtend ambt uitoefent en de aan hem toevertrouwde zielen op een dwaalspoor brengt, laadt een enorme verantwoordelijkheid op zich. Zodra hij onderrichtend werkzaam is, moet hij ook volledig overtuigd zijn van dat, wat hij onderwijst, omdat hij anders zijn kennis niet op anderen over mag dragen. Dit geldt in het bijzonder voor die onderrichtingen, die op geestelijke zaken betrekking hebben, die de ziel dus moeten vormen.

Als hij overtuigd is van de waarheid van deze leringen, dan heeft hij ook het recht om voor zijn overtuigingen op te komen. Maar om overtuigd te kunnen zijn, moet hij de leringen zelf overdacht en er stelling over genomen hebben en wel met de volle wil om in de waarheid te staan. Dan zal hij ook de verantwoordelijkheid voor zijn onderrichtende taak kunnen nemen voor God, want hij handelt nu naar beste weten, als hij deze taak uitvoert.

Maar zodra hij nu een kennis doorgeeft, die hij zelf precies zo ontvangen heeft, zonder volledig van de waarheid hiervan overtuigt te zijn, maakt hij zich schuldig aan het misvormde denken van de aan hem toevertrouwde mensen, want hij dringt deze mensen in zekere zin een kennis op, die ver van de waarheid verwijderd kan zijn. Want hij heeft de opdracht om over hun kennis te waken. Hij moet hen beschermen tegen dwaling of tegen leringen, die zo onduidelijk zijn, dat deze het denken alleen maar verwarren, want dit is zijn taak, die hij gewetensvol uit moet oefenen.

Maar hij kan gerust zijn taak uitoefenen, als hij zijn toevlucht neemt tot God. Als hij Hem vraagt om inzicht en om Zijn hulp, dus de zielen van de aan hem toevertrouwde mensen God aanbeveelt, zodat Hij hen beschermt tegen dwaling of verkeerd denken. Hij moet zich van zijn verantwoordelijkheid bewust zijn en alleen maar voor de zuivere waarheid op willen komen. Dan zal God ook zijn wil sterker en zijn vermogen tot inzicht groter maken en hij zal alleen maar dat doorgeven, waar hij geheel en al positief tegenover kan staan, wat dus door hem als waarheid gezien wordt.

En daarom is het voor een onderwijzende kracht van bijzonder belang, dat hij zich innig met God verbindt en Hem om Zijn hulp en zegen vraagt, omdat niet alleen maar zijn eigen zielenheil, maar ook dat van de aan hem toevertrouwde leerlingen in gevaar is, als de goddelijke genade zijn werkzaamheid niet tot een gezegende maakt. Als God hem niet de volledige kennis geeft van of en wanneer hij zich in de waarheid bevindt. Want eens moet hij verantwoording afleggen en zal er rekenschap van hem geëist worden over de zielen, die hij de waarheid had moeten verkondigen.
