Transformation of the will.... state of compulsion.... goal - original state....

The God-opposing will was the cause of the spiritual being's apostasy from God, therefore the God-like will for the spiritual being has to mean unity, i.e. union with God, and from this it is obvious that the will of the apostate spiritual being has to be changed first if it is to be able to unite with God again. This transformation is the meaning and purpose of life on earth, but it has to take place without compulsion and therefore takes place in the form of a slow higher development. The beingness is deprived of its right of self-determination, i.e. it has to subordinate itself to the creator's will as long as it covers the path on earth before the embodiment as a human being insofar as it has to be active in the preliminary stages in the way God prescribes for every work of creation. This is by no means a state of complete lack of will, but the beingness has already expressed its will before, and that is why it was now given the task which corresponds to its will. It is only a state of compulsion insofar as, once it has expressed its will, it can no longer counteract it but must now carry out the activity to which it has previously committed itself. It is, so to speak, induced to serve, but it has previously declared its willingness to serve, otherwise it would not be permitted to serve. Thus the will of the beingness already turned more and more towards the eternal deity, the resistance was given up and the union with God was so to speak unconsciously striven for. But the beingness still has to pass a last test of will, where all compulsion is eliminated and the being can decide completely freely and consciously whether it gives up the will opposed to God or still persists in it. And this is the time of embodiment as a human being, which every being can now utilize of its own free will. In this time it is only about the will, whether it turns away or towards God. And it will now be understandable to people that one can only speak of a successful change on earth when the once God-opposing will has completely changed, that is, when it completely subordinates itself to divine will and thus reduces its distance from God.... For the latter means an approach to God in a conscious state, it means a complete change of the spiritual, which once turned away from God in free will and now uses this free will again to unite with God.... The spiritual now restores its original state without being forced to do so by God, and this signifies the redemption of the spiritual from the cover which God has added to the spiritual as a fetter in order to lead it back to Himself; for the spiritual it signifies a free, inconceivably blissful state which corresponds to its original purpose and is therefore the goal of all unredeemed spiritual....

의지의 변화. 의무의 단계. 목표-원래 상태.

하나님을 거역하려는 의지가 영적인 존재가 하나님으로부터 멀어지는 원인이다. 그러므로 영적인 존재가 하나님의 뜻과 같은 뜻을 갖는 일은, 영적인 존재에게 하나님과 연합을, 즉 하나님과의 하나가 되는 일을 의미해야만 한다. 이를 통해 영적인 존재가 다시 하나님과 연결될 수 있게 되려면, 타락한 영적인 존재의 의지가 변화돼야만 함을 알 수 있다. 이런 변화가 이 땅의 삶의 의미와 목적이다. 그러나 강요가 없이 변화가 일어나야만 하고, 그러므로 서서히 더 높이 성장하는 방식으로 일어난다. 영적인 존재는 자결권을 박탈당한다. 다시 말해 한 인간으로 육신을 입기 전에 이 땅의 과정을 가기 전의 단계에서 하나님이 이런 모든 존재에게 정해주는 대로 살아야만 하는 동안에는, 영적인 존재는 창조주의 의지에 순복해야만 한다.

이런 상태는 절대로 전적으로 의지가 없는 상태가 아니라, 존재가 이전에 이미 자신의 의지를 표명한 것이다. 그러므로 이제 존재 자신의 의지대로 존재가 과제를 받은 것이다. 존재가 일단 의지를 표명한 후에는, 더 이상 대적할 수 없고, 이전에 약속했던 활동을 수행해야만 한다는 점에서 의무의 단계이다. 존재는 어떤 의미에서 섬기는 일을 하게 되지만, 존재가 이전에 섬기겠다고 선언한 것이다. 그렇지 않으면 섬길 일을 하도록 허용을 받을 수 없다. 이로써 존재의 의지는 점점 더 영원한 신성에게 향하고, 저항을 포기하고, 무의식적으로 하나님과의 연합을 추구한다.

그러나 존재가 어떤 강요도 없이 자신이 하나님을 대적하는 의지를 포기할지, 아니면 지속할지 여부를 자유롭게 의식적으로 결정할 수 있는, 마지막 의지의 시험을 통과해야만 한다. 이런 시험기간은 모든 존재가 이제 자유의지를 사용할 수 있는, 인간으로 육신을 입는 기간이다. 이 기간은 의지가 하나님을 외면할 것인지 아니면 하나님께로 향할 것인지 정하는 기간이다. 한때 하나님께 대적한 의지가 완전히 바뀌었을 때, 이로써 자신을 완전히 하나님의 뜻 아래 두어, 하나님과의 거리를 줄일 때, 단지 이 땅의 삶에서 성공했다고 말할 수 있는 일은 사람들이 이제 이해할 수 있게 될 것이다.

왜냐면 의지가 하나님께 향하는 일은 의식을 하는 상태에서 하나님께 다가가는 일을 의미하고, 한때 자유의지로 하나님에게서 멀어졌던 영적인 존재가 이제는 그런 자유의지를 하나님과 연합하기 위해 사용하는 것을 의미하기 때문이다. 영적인 존재가 이제 하나님의 강요를 받지 않고, 자신의 원래의 상태로 회복시킨다. 이는 하나님이 영적인 존재들을 자신에게 인도하기 위해 영적인 존재에게 준 사슬인 겉형체로부터 영적인 존재가 자유롭게 되는 일을 의미한다. 이런 일은 영적인 존재에게 자유롭고, 상상할 수 없을 정도로 행복한 상태를 의미하고, 이런 상태는 영적 존재가 받은 원래의 정함 받은 것에 합당한 상태이고, 그러므로 구속받지 못한 모든 영적인 존재들의 목표이다.
