Shaping the soul to receive light and power.... redemptive activity....

Only a few people are able to put themselves into the state which is necessary in order to be receivers of light and strength from God. For these must kill the will for the world but allow the will for God to become ever stronger, and the latter is only possible if the human being is profoundly faithful, that is, he must turn to God as a result of faith, for neither the advantage of a connection with God nor the disadvantage of life without God can be proven to him.... In a sense, he must strive towards a goal that can only be justified by faith. And only few people will pursue such a goal because they cannot be given any guarantee for the correctness or truthfulness of what they believe. And yet it is precisely this belief that brings tremendous success.... Faith in a God of love, wisdom and omnipotence is of inestimable value, for through such faith a person moulds himself into what he must be in order to be able to receive light and strength from God. The deity that he recognizes accepts him.... It draws near to him and overshadows him with its grace.... It draws him to itself and turns a weak, powerless being into a being full of strength and power.... By recognizing the eternal deity, by believing in a power that is extremely strong, wise and benevolent, man becomes a co-recipient of what this power emanates, and he detaches himself to a certain extent from the humanity to which he belongs on earth.... He can still be in bodily life outside of where his body dwells.... He can connect with a world which is outside of earth, he can make contact with beings outside of earth, and he can even make contact with God Himself through his profound belief that there is a world outside of earth and that there are no barriers between himself and the spiritual world, its inhabitants and the supreme being.... For if a person believes in God's love, he also knows that this love inclines towards him full of mercy.... he knows that this love has created him for the sake of a purpose, and he now seeks to fathom the purpose in order to be able to fulfil his task. And thus his will becomes active, and the deeper his faith becomes, the stronger his will becomes.... But God deepens this faith and will through the influx of His strength, for He will send it in abundance to a person who strives towards Him, and thus the person who detaches himself from the earthly world for the sake of his faith will be richly provided for.... he receives and is richly compensated for what he gives up on earth....

(29.3.1942) But man's endeavour is mostly the increase of earthly wealth and thus unsuitability to receive light and strength from God. For he does not fulfil any conditions and therefore his soul is not shaped as it has to be in order to receive the outpouring from God. And the consequence of this is that the higher development of the human race is also called into question, since this is inconceivable without the transmission of strength from God. Mankind constantly remains on the same level, if it does not even develop regressively. It does not utilize the grace of embodiment on earth and thus remains in the state far removed from God which it had to show at the beginning of the embodiment of the soul. The whole process of higher development through human will has come to a standstill because faith in a God of love, wisdom and omnipotence is weak or completely lacking. And this is why people urgently need help, namely in the form of instructions from a fellow human being in whom this faith is still strong and who can thereby transfer the strength from God to those whom he himself receives by virtue of his faith. Such a mediator has to fulfil an extremely important task which he again can only carry out if God Himself assists him and increases his strength so that he can awaken or deepen the faith of his fellow human beings through extraordinary activity. And thus he must constantly be prepared to act as a mediator between God and people, and this requires all his will and serving devotion. Yet it is the most beautiful task a person can fulfil during his earthly existence.... to bring light to humanity, which lives in deepest spiritual darkness, and to snatch it from this darkness. And the few will always be allowed to enjoy God's grace, God will stand by them and increase their strength, He will strengthen their faith, He will seize the soul, which offers itself to Him, in His love and lead it safely upwards, because it fulfils its right purpose of existence.... it is already redemptively active on earth and thereby a candidate for the kingdom of God, which is not of this world....

Gestalten der Seele zum Empfangen von Licht und Kraft.... Erlösende Tätigkeit....

Nur wenige Menschen vermögen sich in den Zustand zu versetzen, der nötig ist, um Licht- und Kraftempfänger aus Gott zu sein. Denn diese müssen den Willen zur Welt abtöten, den Willen zu Gott aber immer stärker werden lassen, und letzteres ist nur dann möglich, wenn der Mensch tief gläubig ist, d.h., er muß sich Gott zuwenden als Folge des Glaubens, denn ihm wird weder der Vorteil einer Verbindung mit Gott noch der Nachteil des Lebens ohne Gott bewiesen werden können.... Er muß gewissermaßen einem Ziel zustreben, das nur im Glauben begründet werden kann. Und es werden nur wenige Menschen ein solches Ziel verfolgen, weil ihnen keinerlei Gewähr gegeben werden kann für die Richtigkeit oder Wahrhaftigkeit dessen, was er glaubt. Und doch ist gerade dieser Glaube ungeheuer Erfolg-eintragend.... Der Glaube an einen Gott der Liebe, Weisheit und Allmacht ist von unschätzbarem Wert, denn durch einen solchen Glauben formt sich der Mensch so, wie er sein muß, um Licht und Kraft von Gott empfangen zu können. Die Gottheit, Die er anerkennt, nimmt ihn an.... Sie naht Sich ihm und überschattet ihn mit Ihrer Gnade.... Sie zieht ihn zu Sich hinan und macht aus einem schwachen, ohnmächtigen Wesen ein Wesen voller Kraft und Macht.... Durch das Anerkennen der ewigen Gottheit, durch den Glauben an eine Macht, die überaus stark, weise und gütig ist, wird der Mensch Mitempfänger dessen, was diese Macht ausströmt, und er löst sich gewissermaßen von der Menschheit, der er angehört auf Erden.... Er kann noch im Leibesleben außerhalb dessen sein, wo sein Körper weilt.... Er kann sich mit einer Welt verbinden, die außerhalb der Erde ist, er kann sich in Verbindung setzen mit den Wesen außerhalb der Erde, und er kann sogar mit Gott Selbst in Verbindung treten durch seinen tiefen Glauben, daß es eine Welt außerhalb der Erde gibt und daß es keine Schranken gibt zwischen sich und der geistigen Welt, deren Bewohnern und der höchsten Wesenheit.... Denn so der Mensch glaubt an die Liebe Gottes, weiß er auch, daß diese Liebe Sich ihm zuneigt voller Erbarmen.... er weiß, daß diese Liebe ihn geschaffen hat um eines Zweckes willen, und er sucht nun, den Zweck zu ergründen, um seine Aufgabe erfüllen zu können. Und also wird sein Wille tätig, und je tiefer sein Glaube wird, desto stärker wird auch sein Wille.... Diesen Glauben und Willen aber vertieft Gott durch den Zustrom Seiner Kraft, denn einem Ihm zustrebenden Menschen läßt Er diese in aller Fülle zugehen, und es wird also der Mensch reich bedacht, der sich löset von der irdischen Welt um seines Glaubens willen.... er empfängt und wird überreich entschädigt für das, was er aufgibt auf Erden.... (29.3.1942) Des Menschen Trachten aber ist zumeist das Vermehren des irdischen Reichtums und damit Untauglichkeit zur Entgegennahme von Licht und Kraft aus Gott. Denn er erfüllt keinerlei Bedingungen, und also ist seine Seele nicht so gestaltet, wie sie zum Empfangen der Ausströmung aus Gott sein muß. Und das hat zur Folge, daß auch die Höherentwicklung des Menschengeschlechtes in Frage gestellt ist, da diese ohne Kraftübermittlung von seiten Gottes nicht denkbar ist. Es bleibt die Menschheit ständig auf der gleichen Stufe, wenn sie nicht gar rückschrittlich sich entwickelt. Sie nützet nicht die Gnade der Verkörperung auf Erden und bleibt so in dem Gott-fernen Zustand, den sie zu Beginn der Verkörperung der Seele aufzuweisen hatte. Es ist eine Stockung eingetreten im gesamten Höherentwicklungsprozeß durch den Willen der Menschen, weil der Glaube schwach ist oder gänzlich mangelt an einen Gott der Liebe, der Weisheit und der Allmacht. Und darum benötigen die Menschen dringend Hilfe, und zwar in Form von Belehrungen durch einen Mitmenschen, in dem dieser Glaube noch stark ist und der dadurch die Kraft aus Gott übertragen kann auf jene, die er selbst empfängt kraft seines Glaubens. Es hat ein solcher Mittler eine überaus wichtige Aufgabe zu erfüllen, die er wieder nur ausführen kann, wenn Gott Selbst ihm beisteht und seine Kraft vermehrt, so daß er durch außergewöhnliches Wirken den Glauben der Mitmenschen erwecken oder vertiefen kann. Und also muß er ständig bereit sein, als Mittler zwischen Gott und den Menschen tätig zu sein, und dies erfordert seinen ganzen Willen und dienende Hingabe. Doch es ist die schönste Aufgabe, die der Mensch während seines Erdendaseins erfüllen kann.... der in tiefster geistiger Dunkelheit dahinlebenden Menschheit Licht zu bringen und sie dieser Dunkelheit zu entreißen. Und es werden die wenigen sich stets der Gnade Gottes erfreuen dürfen, Gott wird ihnen beistehen und ihre Kraft vermehren, Er wird ihren Glauben stärken, Er wird die Seele, die sich Ihm anträgt, in Seiner Liebe ergreifen und sie sicher zur Höhe führen, denn sie erfüllet ihren rechten Daseinszweck.... sie ist erlösend tätig schon auf Erden und dadurch ein Anwärter des Gottesreiches, das nicht von dieser Welt ist....
