Partition.... spiritual battle.... temptations....

It is like a dividing wall that the good builds around itself when its desire is directed towards God. Evil tries to tear down this partition and uses unfair means to do so.... It fights in secret and often under the guise of goodness and piety. And then it is necessary to be doubly vigilant so that it is recognized as evil. Forces turned away from God remain close to the person striving towards God and perceive the slightest lukewarmness on his part to direct his thoughts towards things that lie beyond the divine. And now the human being only needs to be weak, then he will take in the thoughts which are whispered to him and his thinking will no longer exclusively move along a spiritual path. And then the human being has to fight with himself again in order to overcome those thoughts. Only then will his heart drive him more powerfully towards God, for the soul senses the apostasy as something burdensome and seeks to be free of it again. However, every spiritual battle manifests itself depending on the victor.... If the adversary has the upper hand, then the person will strive for external things and strive for earthly success.... He will interrupt his spiritual endeavours and thus pay tribute to the world.... But if the power of the spirit is active in him, earthly temptations cannot change his will.... He is inwardly calm and purposeful; he despises what approaches him and would like to cause him to think in an earthly way; he remains faithful to God and therefore there are no distractions for him, his will is always and constantly directed towards union with God.... And it means spiritual progress to have withstood the temptations and to have an increased desire for God. He has therefore erected the wall of partition that prevents evil from reaching him. He is immune to temptation and also recognizes the forces that seek to oppress him in the mask of goodness. For his feelings are mimosa-like.... he will always sense the impure and defend himself against it; but those who allow themselves to be taken captive by it are still impure themselves, in their hearts the desire for the world is still too great and what approaches them with beautiful words and expressions they do not realize as bad and wrong, and so the adversary has an easy game. But if a person is vigilant and asks God for help, his eyes will be sharpened and he will act in accordance with God's will. It remains a constant battle for him, only less noticeable, as his desire for God applies.... Yet the battle is permitted by God so that the human being himself will test his strength in it, so that he will ask God for the strength he lacks and thus take refuge in Him.... And thus his attitude towards God will always be decisive as to who remains victorious, the good or the evil....

Il muro di separazione - La lotta spirituale - Le tentazioni

E’ come un muro di separazione che il Bene edifica intorno a sé, quando il suo desiderio è rivolto a Dio. Il maligno cerca comunque di abbattere questo muro di separazione e per questo si serve di mezzi impuri, lotta nel nascondimento e sovente sotto il mantello di copertura della bontà e religiosità. Ed allora vale essere doppiamente vigile, affinché venga riconosciuto come maligno. Le forze lontane da Dio rimangono vicino all’uomo che tende verso Dio e sfruttano la sua minima tiepidezza per guidare il suo pensare su cose che stanno lontane dal Divino. Ed ora l’uomo deve soltanto essere debole, allora accoglie dei pensieri che gli vengono sussurrati ed il suo pensare non si muove più su una via esclusivamente spirituale. Ed allora l’uomo deve di nuovo combattere contro sé stesso per vincere quei pensieri. Solo allora il suo cuore lo spinge più forte verso Dio, perché l’anima percepisce la caduta come qualcosa che l’aggrava e cerca di liberarsene. Ogni lotta spirituale si manifesta secondo il vincitore. Se l’avversario ha il sopravvento, allora l’uomo tenderà a cose esteriori e si adopererà per il successo terreno. Interromperà il tendere spirituale e quindi darà il tributo al mondo. Ma se in lui è efficace la Forza dello spirito, allora le tentazioni terrene non lo possono cambiare nella sua volontà. Interiormente è calmo e cosciente della meta; disprezza ciò che gli si avvicina e che vorrebbe indurlo al pensare terreno; mantiene a Dio la fedeltà e quindi per lui non esistono distrazioni, la sua volontà è rivolta sempre e continuamente all’unificazione con Dio. Significa progresso spirituale, aver resistito contro le tentazioni e stare nell’aumentato desiderio per Dio. Costui quindi si è eretto un muro di separazione che tiene lontano il maligno di giungere a lui. E’ difeso contro le tentazioni e riconosce anche le forze che cercano di spingersi a lui sotto la maschera del bene. Perché il suo percepire è mimosico, sentirà sempre l’impurità e se ne difenderà; ma coloro che se ne lasciano catturare, loro stessi sono impuri, nei loro cuori la brama per il mondo è ancora troppo grande e non si rendono conto come cattivo e falso di ciò che si avvicina a loro con belle parole e maniere, e così l’avversario ha gioco facile. Ma se l’uomo è vigile e chiede l’Assistenza a Dio, il suo sguardo viene acutizzato ed agirà secondo la Volontà divina. Per lui rimane una costante lotta, soltanto sempre meno percettibile, se il suo desiderio è rivolto a Dio. Ma la lotta è concessa da Dio, affinché l’uomo stesso vi metta alla prova la sua forza, affinché richieda la Forza mancante a Dio, quindi si rifugia in Lui. E così sarà sempre decisiva la sua presa di posizione verso Dio, chi rimane vincitore, il Bene oppure il male.
