Drying up of the divine source of power through resistance....

Anyone who resists the divine working forfeits an indescribable grace, for he rejects God Himself Who wants to impart His strength to the human being. The influx of divine strength is not felt by the body to the same extent as it is felt by the soul, indeed, the body is often even forced to renounce earthly pleasures and rebels against it, i.e, the soul is pushed towards the spiritual within itself by divine strength, while the body likewise demands its devotion to itself, and thus the human being is in a battle with himself, and now the will must not waver, the body must not gain supremacy, for it would mean the loss, the drying up of the flow of strength from God and endanger the soul extremely and bring about its spiritual standstill or decline. The human will cannot be forced, and therefore it must decide for itself; it must release the soul of its own accord, it must support its desire to make contact with the spiritual, but it must not let the body speak first.... He must not simultaneously flirt with the world and force the soul to participate in the desires of the body. The influx of spiritual strength can in turn only be consciously requested, and the desire for the world often prevents people from asking for spiritual good. And so the human being resists a gift from above, he does not receive it gratefully but only reluctantly, and this quiet resistance results in the divine source of strength drying up, and the human being is subsequently in a pitiable state.... he seeks worldly pleasures and does not find them. But he does not desire spiritual good, and therefore it cannot be offered to him. And even if life passes by without deep excitement, he finds no satisfaction in it, he sees nothing beautiful in it, because he is poor in spiritual good, but has already experienced its gracious effect. A person should sincerely and humbly request the strength from God, but every rejection is a resistance to this strength and therefore God withdraws it, resulting in emotional hardship but never in spiritual progress....

Secando a fonte divina de poder através da resistência....

Quem se opõe à atividade divina perde uma graça inominável, pois rejeita o próprio Deus, que quer dar a sua força ao ser humano. É certo que o influxo de força divina não é sentido pelo corpo na mesma medida em que é sentido pela alma; de facto, o corpo é muitas vezes até forçado por ele a renunciar aos prazeres terrenos e a rebelar-se contra ele, isto é, a 12.... A alma é forçada para o espiritual em si mesma pela força divina, enquanto o corpo também exige sua devoção a si mesmo, e assim o ser humano está em uma batalha consigo mesmo, e agora a vontade não deve vacilar, o corpo não deve ganhar supremacia, pois isso significaria a perda, o secar do fluxo de força de Deus e colocar a alma em perigo extremo e levá-la à paralisação ou declínio espiritual. A vontade humana não pode ser forçada e, portanto, deve decidir por si mesma; deve libertar a alma por si mesma, deve apoiar o seu desejo de fazer contacto com o espiritual, mas não deve deixar que o corpo tenha a sua palavra.... Ele não deve flertar simultaneamente com o mundo e forçar a alma a compartilhar os desejos do corpo. O influxo de força espiritual, por sua vez, só pode ser pedido conscientemente, e o desejo mundano muitas vezes impede o ser humano de pedir o bem espiritual. E assim o ser humano resiste a um influxo vindo de cima, não o recebe com gratidão mas apenas com relutância, e esta resistência silenciosa resulta numa fonte divina de força a secar, e o ser humano está subsequentemente num lamentável estado de espírito.... Ele procura prazeres mundanos e não os encontra. Mas ele não deseja o bem espiritual e, portanto, também não lhe pode ser oferecido. E mesmo que a vida passe sem emoção profunda, ele não encontra nela nenhuma satisfação, pois não vê nada de belo nela, pois é pobre em bens espirituais, mas já experimentou o seu efeito gracioso. O ser humano deve sinceramente e humildemente pedir força a Deus, mas toda recusa é uma resistência contra essa força, e assim Deus a retira, e as dificuldades espirituais são o resultado, mas nunca o progresso espiritual....
