Free will indispensable for redemption.... (self-redemption)....

By virtue of free will, the human being has it in his power to redeem himself, he is only weak and powerless without the application of the means of grace, without the supply of spiritual strength. Grace is everything that God bestows on man in His love, if he desires it.... To be in God's favour means to be constantly cared for by His love, and this love intervenes wherever a person is in danger. If his soul is in danger, divine love will help him as long as the person himself does not resist this help. The most effective means of grace is prayer. Prayer is the means of receiving unmeasured graces, which means repeated strength and help in all needs and sufferings of the soul. Prayer causes the good spiritual beings to make themselves helpfully available to the human being, that is, to hand over the strength they possess in abundance to the person requesting strength in prayer. For then the free will of man has been active to request power from God. Prayer is therefore a means of receiving unmeasured graces. And a further means of grace is the activity of love.... For with every act of unselfish neighbourly love, divine grace flows to him in the form of divine love, and this urges the human being into ever more active loving activity, and only through love shall the human being redeem himself, thus the more he practises love and thereby receives God's grace, that is, the more strength he receives for his own redemption. No strength or grace can flow to a person who merely fulfils some form; his innermost heart must urge him to pray and to love.... Only then can grace be imparted to him. And worry, illness and affliction are evidence of divine love, for they are intended to bring the human being into a state of using the means of grace, thus to appeal for help in prayer, and to carry out deeds of love for his neighbour. And God thereby directs people such that they desire to stand in the rays of the divine sun of grace; in a manner of speaking, He proposes the means of grace to them so that they make use of them. But the spiritually perfect person is of the same will as God and, as the executor of the will, endeavours in the same way to influence the beings on earth such that they make use of the means of grace.... They stimulate the human being's will to be lovingly active and to appeal to God for His grant of strength.... Only then shall free will be used correctly, only then shall the human being be able to redeem himself, for he does everything with God's help, he makes use of God's grace, and thus lives in and with God....

Voința liberă este indispensabilă pentru mântuire.... (Propria răscumpărare)....

În virtutea voinței libere, omul are în puterea sa de a se răscumpăra pe sine însuși, el este însă slab și neputincios fără folosirea mijloacelor harului, fără aportul de putere spirituală. Harul este tot ceea ce Dumnezeu dă ființei umane în iubirea Sa, dacă aceasta îl dorește.... A sta în harul lui Dumnezeu înseamnă a fi în permanență îngrijit de iubirea Sa, iar această iubire intervine oriunde ființa umană este în pericol. Dacă sufletul său este în pericol, iubirea divină îl va ajuta, cu condiția ca ființa umană să nu se opună ea însăși acestui ajutor. Cel mai eficient mijloc al harului este rugăciunea. Rugăciunea este mijlocul de a primi haruri nemăsurate, adică putere și ajutor mereu și mereu în toate nevoile și suferințele sufletului. Rugăciunea face ca ființele spirituale bune să se pună la dispoziția ființei umane, adică să dea puterea pe care o posedă din belșug celui care cere putere în rugăciune. Pentru că atunci voința liberă a ființei umane a fost activă pentru a cere putere de la Dumnezeu. Rugăciunea este, așadar, un mijloc de a primi har nemăsurat. Și un alt mijloc al harului este activitatea de iubire..... Căci cu fiecare act de iubire dezinteresată față de aproapele, harul divin curge spre el sub forma iubirii divine, iar aceasta îl îndeamnă pe om la o iubire tot mai activă, și numai prin iubire se răscumpără, astfel că puterea din ființa umană devine cu atât mai puternică cu cât practică mai mult iubirea și primește astfel harul lui Dumnezeu, adică o putere sporită pentru răscumpărarea sa. Nici o putere sau har nu poate curge către o persoană care doar îndeplinește o formă oarecare, inima sa lăuntrică trebuie să-l îndemne să se roage și să iubească..... Numai atunci i se poate împărtăși harul. Și grijile, bolile și necazurile sunt dovezi ale iubirii divine, pentru că ele sunt menite să aducă ființa umană în starea de a aplica mijloacele harului, astfel încât să implore ajutor în rugăciune și să devină activă în iubirea față de aproapele său. Astfel, Dumnezeu îi îndrumă pe oameni astfel încât aceștia să dorească să stea sub razele soarelui divin al harului, El le oferă, ca să spunem așa, mijloacele harului, astfel încât ei să le folosească. Cu toate acestea, persoana perfectă din punct de vedere spiritual are aceeași voință ca și Dumnezeu și, în calitate de executant al voinței, depune același efort pentru a influența ființele de pe Pământ astfel încât acestea să folosească mijloacele de har.... ea stimulează voința ființei umane să fie activă în mod iubitor și să apeleze la Dumnezeu pentru a primi puterea Lui.... numai atunci este folosit corect liberul arbitru, atunci ființa umană este capabilă să se răscumpere pe sine, pentru că face totul cu ajutorul lui Dumnezeu, se folosește de harul lui Dumnezeu și astfel trăiește în și cu Dumnezeu....
