Influence by the prince of lies on people's thinking....

Look at humanity's conduct. It is dominated by the spirit of lies and this is causing indescribable confusion. Human thinking will distance itself ever further from the truth, for the human being mentally accepts the lie and has no way of recognising it as such, and thus the person's emotional life will be led astray as well. It is therefore understandable that the layer around the human soul continues to thicken, thus the person distances himself more and more from the truth since the spirit in him cannot express itself, i.e. the soul is incapable of receiving spiritual truths. As soon as a person's thinking takes the wrong direction the voice of the spirit gradually subsides until, in the end, it is no longer heard. The result is a human race which lives in complete ignorance, which strives towards completely different goals than they were originally supposed to achieve. Hence, earthly life is entirely unsuccessful, because as long as the human being lives in error he turns to the power from which he should separate himself. The God-opposing power subsequently makes use of this inclined will and determines the being to commit God-opposing actions in order to destroy all ties and to subjugate the being completely. And this state among mankind can now clearly be recognised.... Earthly life is lived totally independently from God, people only rarely think of the One from Whom everything emerged.... or every thought relating to spiritual matters is anxiously kept secret. God is no longer publicly professed, providing He is at all thought of. All these are visible signs of powers which are hostile to God, for their influence grows stronger the weaker the human being becomes. And since the human being keeps distancing himself ever further from the eternal Deity, his strength to resist the evil influence grows constantly weaker. Instead, he receives the strength from the God-opposing power which supports him in all earthly undertakings. Thus earthly success is always guaranteed through this said strength and the earthly success, in turn, contributes towards a complete separation from God, for the human being no longer needs divine strength, consequently he no longer calls upon God either but denies Him.... And it is the adversary's intention to alienate the human being completely from thoughts of God, for then he will have absolute control over him. He has become a victor over the being which had the choice to whom it wanted to concede victory.

It has chosen God's adversary and thus walked its earthly path in an entirely wrong direction....

Yet God will not let these beings fall.... He will provide them with the evidence that everything earthly worth striving for is also subject to His power.... that He can destroy it if it corresponds to His will. He by no means haphazardly destroys what the human being deems desirable, but this work of destruction will, from a spiritual point of view, also be of greatest advantage for countless entities. Yet people who do not recognise its profound significance will be sorely affected by it, for they will lose everything which, until now, signified their whole life. And once again they are facing the decision.... to strive for the same again or to recognise the transience of it and to gather everlasting possessions for themselves. For at the moment of destruction the adversary loses power, and if the person recognises the impotence of the latter the possibility is given that he might recognise a different Lord above himself and turn to Him. Earthly possession is the share of the evil power for it contains unredeemed spiritual substances, and the human being should not desire what was his place of abode for an infinitely long time before.... he should not strive towards something which took him endless times to overcome.... And thus the obvious worthlessness of it has to be proven to him, so that he will turn away from it and towards that which will come after him, after his life on earth. He must relinquish earthly matter and desire spiritual things, then he will also overcome the final form and liberate himself from every chain. However, spiritual things continue to exist and therefore belong in the realm of truth.... Worldly things, however, are transient, thus they belong to the realm of darkness, to untruth, for it only shelters immature spiritual substance which did not recognise the truth and therefore were banished. Consequently, the human being can never know the truth as long as he desires earthly goods and, precisely because of this desire, concedes power to the prince of lies. And as long as he strives for earthly possessions he will be dominated by the lie, and his thinking has to be misguided, for the prince of lies tries to influence the person's thoughts first and to completely distance him from the truth. Therefore, the state of people is extremely alarming and can only be remedied if God Himself breaks the adversary's power by destroying earthly possessions....

Einwirken des Lügenfürsten auf das Denken der Menschen....

Seht euch das Gebaren der Menschheit an. Es ist vom Lügengeist beherrscht, und dieser richtet namenlose Verwirrung an. Immer mehr wird das menschliche Denken sich entfernen von der Wahrheit, denn es nimmt der Mensch gedanklich die Lüge an und hat kein eigenes Urteilsvermögen, sie als solche zu erkennen, und also wird das Empfindungsleben des Menschen auch in die Irre geleitet. Und es ist nun verständlich, daß sich die Hülle um das Geistige im Menschen immer mehr verdickt, also der Mensch stets mehr und mehr sich von der Wahrheit entfernt, da der Geist in ihm sich nicht äußern kann, d.h. die Seele unfähig ist, geistige Wahrheiten aufzunehmen. Sowie das Denken des Menschen eine falsche Richtung einschlägt, tönet die Stimme des Geistes immer leiser und wird zuletzt nicht mehr vernommen. Die Folge davon ist eine vollständig in Unkenntnis wandelnde Menschheit, die völlig andere Ziele anstrebt, als ihr ursprünglich gestellt wurden. Und der Erdenwandel ist somit gänzlich ergebnislos, denn solange der Mensch im Irrtum wandelt, wendet er sich der Macht zu, von der er sich trennen soll. Nun benützt die Gegenmacht Gottes den ihr zugekehrten Willen und bestimmt das Wesen zu Handlungen, die gegen Gott gerichtet sind, um jegliche Bindungen zu zerstören und das Wesen sich völlig untertan zu machen. Und dieser Zustand ist unter der Menschheit nun merklich zu erkennen.... Es wird das Erdenleben ganz unabhängig von Gott geführt, es wird selten nur noch Dessen gedacht, aus Dem alles hervorgegangen ist.... oder jeder Gedanke, der dem Geistigen gilt, wird ängstlich geheimgehalten. Es wird Gott nicht mehr öffentlich bekannt, sofern Seiner überhaupt noch gedacht wird. Alles dies sind die sichtbaren Zeichen des Wirkens Gott-feindlicher Kräfte, denn ihr Einfluß ist desto stärker, je kraftloser der Mensch ist. Und da der Mensch immer mehr sich von der ewigen Gottheit entfernt, wird auch seine Kraft immer geringer, dem bösen Einfluß zu widerstehen. Dagegen geht ihm nun die Kraft zu von seiten der Gegenmacht Gottes und fördert ihn in allen irdischen Bestrebungen. Es ist also der irdische Erfolg immer gewährleistet durch ebenjene Kraft, und wieder trägt der irdische Erfolg noch dazu bei, sich gänzlich von Gott zu lösen, denn es benötigt der Mensch nicht mehr göttliche Kraft, also ruft er auch nicht Gott an, sondern er verleugnet Ihn.... Und das ist des Gegners Absicht, den Menschen gänzlich von Gott-Gedanken abwendig zu machen, denn dann hat er ihn gänzlich in seiner Gewalt. Er ist zum Sieger geworden über das Wesen, dem es freistand, wem es den Sieg einräumen wollte. Es hat sich für den Gegner Gottes entschieden und also seinen Erdenweg gänzlich verkehrt zurückgelegt.... Doch Gott läßt diese Wesen nicht fallen.... Er will ihnen den Beweis liefern, daß alles Irdisch-Erstrebenswerte auch Seiner Macht unterworfen ist.... daß Er es vernichten kann, wenn es Seinem Willen entspricht. Es ist keineswegs planloses Zerstören dessen, was dem Menschen begehrenswert dünkt, sondern es wird auch dieses Zerstörungswerk, geistig gesehen, von größtem Vorteil sein für unzählige Wesenheiten. Doch die Menschen, welche die tiefe Bedeutung dessen nicht erkennen, werden zutiefst getroffen dadurch, denn ihnen geht alles verloren, was ihnen bisher Lebensinhalt bedeutete. Und nun stehen sie erneut vor der Entscheidung.... das gleiche wieder anzustreben oder die Vergänglichkeit dessen zu erkennen und sich nun unvergängliche Güter zu sammeln. Denn in dem Moment der Zerstörung verliert der Gegner an Macht, und so der Mensch dessen Ohnmacht erkennt, ist die Möglichkeit gegeben, daß er einen anderen Herrn über sich erkennt und sich Ihm zuwendet. Irdisches Gut ist Anteil böser Macht, denn es birgt in sich unerlöstes Geistiges, und es soll der Mensch nicht das begehren, was ihm selbst Aufenthaltsort gewesen ist Ewigkeiten hindurch.... er soll nicht das anstreben, zu dessen Überwindung er endlose Zeiten gebraucht hat.... Und so muß ihm augenscheinlich die Wertlosigkeit dessen bewiesen werden, auf daß er sich abwende davon und sich dem zuwende, was nach ihm, nach dem Leben auf Erden, kommt. Er muß das Irdische dahingeben und das Geistige begehren, dann überwindet er auch die letzte Form und befreit sich aus jeglicher Fessel. Geistiges aber ist etwas, was bestehenbleibt, und gehört sonach in das Reich der Wahrheit.... Das Irdische dagegen ist vergänglich, also es gehört dem Reich der Finsternis, der Lüge an, denn es birgt in sich nur das unreife Geistige, das die Wahrheit nicht erkennt und darum gebannt wurde. Und also kann der Mensch nie in der Wahrheit stehen, solange er irdisches Gut begehrt und dem Fürsten der Lüge Macht einräumt eben durch dieses Begehren. Und er wird so lange von der Lüge beherrscht werden, als er irdisches Gut anstrebt, und er muß in irrigem Denken stehen, denn der Fürst der Lüge sucht auf das Denken des Menschen zuerst einzuwirken und ihn gänzlich von der Wahrheit zu entfernen. Und daher ist der Zustand der Menschen ein überaus bedenklicher, und er kann nur behoben werden, so Gott Selbst die Macht des Gegners bricht, indem Er irdischen Besitz zerstört....
