Prayer....
And so you should persevere in prayer, for you are weak little children who always need the father's help. And your concern should always be to prove yourselves worthy of His help, for whatever the father in heaven does for you He does out of love for you. If you now want to possess this love of His you must prove to Him that you are His children by complying with His will.... And for this you need strength, which you should implore in faithful prayer. And therefore prayer is the first rung upwards; the earthly child is able to do everything if it resorts to prayer, for the father Himself has given you the promise with His words: Ask and it will be given to you.... knock and it will be opened to you.... Every call that comes from the heart reaches the father and will also be heard if it is useful for the salvation of a person's soul. The power of prayer is so great that undreamt-of spiritual strength is sent to help the earthly child and every request is granted if it is in accordance with the will of the heavenly father. Yet only prayer which is sent up to the father in humble supplication and childlike trust can be answered.... prayer must reflect the right relationship with God.... As a child presents its request to the father, so the asking earthly child should come to Him with every request, in Whose power alone it lies to fulfil every request. Prayer is the conscious connection with God.... For prayer also presupposes the belief that a higher power has all authority and that God loves His creatures. It proves that the creature regocnizes its creator.... prayer establishes the right relationship between the two, and prayer proves the desire of the earthly child for the father of the universe. And thus, when you pray and present your request to the lord, you acknowledge the original spirit, Who is your origin, and you enter the bridge which leads to reunification, for prayer is the first step towards the father.... prayer is the only way to ascend from the abyss, for it is through prayer that the earthly child receives the strength and vigour to start working on itself, on its soul, and thus to bridge the gulf which separates it from the father.... And if the human being has to endure battles of whatever kind, prayer is always the refuge to the one Who can put an end to everything that is difficult.... If you pray correctly, i.e. in spirit and in truth, your supplications will be heard so that you will become strong in faith in His love and omnipotence....

En daarom moeten jullie in het gebed volharden, want jullie zijn zwakke kindertjes, die altijd de hulp van de Vader nodig hebben. En jullie zorg moet steeds zijn, dat jullie bewijzen, dat jullie Zijn hulp waardig zijn, want wat de Vader in de hemel voor jullie doet, doet Hij uit liefde voor jullie. Als jullie nu Zijn liefde willen bezitten, dan moeten jullie Hem bewijzen, dat jullie Zijn kinderen zijn, doordat jullie Zijn wil vervullen. En daar hebben jullie kracht voor nodig, die jullie in een gelovig gebed af moeten smeken.
En daarom is het gebed de eerste trede naar boven. Het mensenkind is tot alles in staat, als het zijn toevlucht neemt tot het gebed. Want de Vader Zelf heeft jullie de belofte gedaan met Zijn woorden: “Vraag, dan zal jullie gegeven worden, klop aan, dan wordt er voor jullie opengedaan”. Elke kreet, die uit het hart komt, dringt door tot de Vader en zal ook verhoord worden, als het nuttig is voor het zielenheil van de mens. De macht van het gebed is zo groot, dat ongekende geestelijke kracht het mensenkind tot hulp gestuurd wordt en dat aan elke vraag voldaan zal worden, als het de wil van de hemelse Vader is. Maar alleen dat gebed, dat deemoedig vragend en in kinderlijk vertrouwen naar de Vader omhoog gestuurd wordt, kan verhoord worden. Het gebed moet de juiste verhouding tot God weerspiegelen.
Zoals een kind een verzoek aan de vader voorlegt, zo moet het vragende mensenkind met elk verzoek tot Hem komen, in Wiens macht het ligt om aan elk verzoek te voldoen. Het gebed is de bewuste verbinding met God. Want het gebed stelt ook het geloof voorop, dat er een hogere macht alle macht heeft en dat God Zijn schepselen liefheeft. Het bewijst, dat het schepsel zijn Schepper erkent. Het gebed brengt de juiste verhouding tussen beiden tot stand en het gebed bewijst het verlangen van het mensenkind naar de Vader van het heelal.
En als jullie dus vragen en jullie verzoeken aan de Heer voorleggen, belijden jullie de oorspronkelijke geest, Die jullie begin is. En jullie betreden de brug, die tot hereniging leidt, want het gebed is de eerste stap naar de Vader. Het gebed is de enige mogelijkheid om uit de diepte tot de hoogte te geraken, want door het gebed wordt het mensenkind kracht en sterkte gegeven om de arbeid aan zichzelf, aan zijn ziel, te beginnen en dus de kloof, die het van de Vader scheidt, te overbruggen. En als de mens een gevecht moet doorstaan, van welke aard dan ook, is steeds het gebed de toevlucht tot Hem, Die aan al het moeilijke een einde kan maken. En als jullie goed, dat wil zeggen in de geest en in de waarheid, bidden, zal jullie smeken verhoord worden, opdat jullie geloof in Zijn liefde en almacht sterk wordt.
