Language....

Throughout the ages man's language has been the form of expression of his thinking, and man uses it in order to convey the result of his thinking to his fellow human beings. The wise creator has given them the means to connect people with each other, and at the same time He has given them the opportunity to formulate all mental activity through these means in order to allow fellow human beings to participate in every spiritual experience. At a certain stage of his development this gift is denied to him, but at the same time the ability to think is still undeveloped, and therefore both will only have the right value when they complement each other, i.e. when language can simply and clearly express what moves a person's thoughts. It is God's will that the human being has to make use of language for mutual understanding, for he shall thereby be offered the opportunity to influence his fellow human being and to explain his mental activity to him, and all people shall thereby receive the blessing of mental activity.... in that something can be imparted to them which their own thoughts have not yet awakened in them. For thoughts are again left up to people.... they can be good and also evil and thus also have a correspondingly good or evil effect on fellow human beings if this thought material is conveyed to them through language. And it will therefore be understandable how precisely language is an important factor in earthly existence.... how everything that is offered to people first becomes understandable to them through language.... and how without language the whole of life would touch people far more monotonously and without the linguistic transmission each person would only live his life for himself alone as there would be no possibility to inform other people of his own feelings.... no utterances would reach people, and the community among them would be far more endangered, for everyone would be occupied exclusively with his own thoughts, without realizing that each person is capable of thinking differently.... This becomes all the more understandable when one considers that the human being is always and constantly working out some thoughts and that countless thoughts would therefore vanish into nothing again if they did not want to make their way to their fellow human beings through language and thus stimulate mental activity there again and constantly give birth to new thoughts.... And therefore language as a gift of God cannot be valued highly enough, for it primarily enables a lively spiritual exchange for spiritual seekers and is the reason that the spiritually active person can rise up considerably more easily, for he can be offered regular instruction from all sides in many ways, and again it is only the human being's will, to believingly accept the spiritual knowledge imparted to him through language and thus to ascend, which would be incomparably more difficult for him without this divine favour and would therefore take an exceptionally long time if the human being were to reach the state of maturity of his soul without such mediation of thoughts. For since eternity divine love and wisdom has only endeavoured to make the earthly beings' ascent as easy as possible and therefore gave them the grace of being allowed to use language in order to make the path upwards easier for each other....

Il linguaggio

Attraverso dei tempi impensabili la lingua dell’uomo è la forma d’espressione del suo pensare e l’uomo se ne serve, per trasmettere al prossimo il risultato del suo pensare. Il saggio Creatore ha dato loro nella mano il mezzo, che deve unire gli uomini reciprocamente, e contemporaneamente ha dato loro la possibilità di formulare attraverso questo mezzo ogni attività mentale, per far partecipe il prossimo ad ogni vicissitudine spirituale. In un certo stadio del suo sviluppo questo Dono gli è comunque interdetto, ma nello stesso tempo è però ancora sottosviluppata la facoltà del pensare, ed ambedue le cose avranno poi solo il giusto valore, quando si completano reciprocamente, cioè quando la lingua può esprimere semplicemente e chiaramente, ciò che muove mentalmente l’uomo. Che l’uomo si debba servire della lingua per la reciproca comprensione, è la Volontà di Dio, perché con ciò gli dev’essere offerta l’occasione di agire sul prossimo e di chiarirgli l’attività mentale, e con ciò tutti gli uomini devono giungere alla Benedizione dell’attività mentale, mentre può essere trasmesso qualcosa che i propri pensieri non hanno ancora risvegliato in sé, perché i pensieri degli uomini sono a loro volta liberi, possono essere buoni ed anche cattivi e quindi agire anche rispettivamente bene o male sui prossimi, se questo patrimonio mentale viene trasmesso attraverso la lingua. E di conseguenza sarà comprensibile, che proprio la lingua sia un importante fattore nell’esistenza terrena, come tutto ciò che viene offerto agli uomini, e come senza lingua tutta la vita toccherebbe gli uomini in modo monotono, e senza la trasmissione verbale ognuno vivrebbe la sua vita soltanto per sé stesso, dato che non esisterebbe nessuna possibilità di mettere a conoscenza gli altri uomini del proprio sentimento, agli uomini non giungerebbe nessuna esternazione, e la comunità tra loro sarebbe mess molto a rischio, perché ognuno si occuperebbe esclusivamente con i propri pensieri, senza sapere che ogni uomo è capace di pensare diversamente. Questo diventa ben comprensibile soltanto, se si pensa che l’uomo elabora sempre e continuamente qualche pensiero e che quindi innumerevoli pensieri scomparirebbero di nuovo nel nulla, se non potessero trovare la via ai prossimi attraverso la lingua e là stimolassero poi di nuovo ad una attività mentale e genererasseri sempre nuovi pensieri. E perciò la lingua come Dono di Dio non è da valutare abbastanza alto, perché in prima linea rende possibile ad un ricercatore spirituale uno scambio spirituale ed è motivo, che l’uomo spiritualmente vivo possa molto più facilmente lottare per giungere in Alto, perché da tutte le parti gli può essere offerto in molteplice forma l’ammaestramento regolare, ed è nuovamente soltanto la volontà dell’uomo, accogliere con fede ciò che gli viene trasmesso di patrimonio spirituale attraverso la lingua, e così giungere in Alto, cosa che senza questa facilitazione divina gli sarebbe incomparabilmente difficile e quindi richiederebbe straordinariamente tanto tempo, se l’uomo dovesse raggiungere lo stato di maturità della sua anima senza tale possibilità di trasmissione dei pensieri. Perché l’Amore e la Sapienza divino intende sin dall’Eternità rendere agli esseri terreni la loro risalita il più facile possibile, e perciò ha dato questa Grazia di poter usare la lingua, per rendersi reciprocamente più facile la via verso l’Alto.
