Unused life on earth....

Many a person travels his earthly path without significant success for his soul, and this is all too understandable in view of the fact that he has no thought of survival after death. An earthly life, which only has earthly prosperity as its only goal, understandably cannot result in eternal goods, and therefore such a life will not achieve anything which serves the soul's progress and is consequently lived uselessly.... The grace of embodiment has been disregarded and a millennia-long struggle has not found the right conclusion that it should find according to God's will.... But how serious and significant the consequences of an unutilized earthly life are for the spiritual being cannot be overlooked by the human being as such, yet his soul will have to bitterly atone for such an omission, after all, it is in greatest distress as a result and the thought is unspeakably bitter for it, that a marvellous life was actually granted to it and that it has robbed itself of it and that nothing will bring back the missed opportunity, thus it can never again reach the degree of perfection which it could easily achieve with the right use of earthly life. It can indeed struggle, and that now with extreme difficulty in the beyond, but it will hardly reach that degree over there which is the prerequisite for becoming a child of God. It is not for nothing that the lord has made the earth the centre of His creation.... He has endowed people with every ability that is fully sufficient for them to work their way up to a God-like creature.... And the divine creator's love is again so profound that it draws the earthly child upwards.... But where the latter neither respects this fatherly love nor cultivates the abilities that guarantee its spiritual progress, its mind is not directed towards drawing closer to the creator and producer. It turns more towards the opposite pole, which uses every means at its disposal to prevent this rapprochement with the eternal deity, but instead makes all earthly goods easily accessible to man.... thus allowing him to fall under the spell of matter, thereby increasing matter and preventing a higher development of the soul on earth. The spiritual influences of the opposing power are immense and thus poison the thinking of those who are too weak to offer resistance. And yet the lord God has created all people for the same purpose.... He has called them all to become bearers of His divine power.... He shows them all the right path, He distributes favours to them again and again, and yet this love is not respected to the extent that would be necessary to attain the degree of maturity on earth.... This gift of grace and God's obvious love is indeed often regocnized, yet without his own endeavour the human being can never attain this degree, and thus his will has to be active first and consciously dedicate himself to the highest goal on earth, and he must not forget the task he has been given for earthly life, then he will pay more attention to his earthly life in a spiritual respect, and this life of his will not have been lived in vain for eternity....

Ungenütztes Erdenleben....

So mancher leget seinen Erdenweg zurück ohne nennenswerten Erfolg für seine Seele, und es ist dies allzubegreiflich in Anbetracht dessen, daß er des Fortlebens nach dem Tode nicht gedenkt. Ein Erdenleben, dem nur irdischer Wohlstand zum einzigen Ziel gesetzt wird, kann verständlicherweise keine ewigen Güter zeitigen, und es wird daher ein solches Leben nichts zuwege bringen, was der Seele zum Fortschritt dient, und ist folglich unnütz gelebt.... Es ist die Gnade der Verkörperung außer acht gelassen worden, und es hat ein Jahrtausende währendes Ringen nicht den rechten Abschluß gefunden, den es nach Gottes Willen finden sollte.... Wie schwerwiegend und bedeutsam aber die Auswirkungen eines ungenützten Erdenlebens sind für das geistige Wesen, das kann der Mensch als solcher nicht übersehen, doch seine Seele wird eine solche Versäumnis bitter büßen müssen, ist sie doch dadurch in größter Notlage, und es ist für sie der Gedanke unsagbar bitter, daß ein wunderherrliches Leben ihr eigentlich beschieden war und sie sich dessen selbst beraubt hat und daß ihr nichts die versäumte Gelegenheit wiederbringt, sie also den Grad der Vollkommenheit niemals mehr erreichen kann, den sie bei richtiger Anwendung des Erdenlebens mit Leichtigkeit erzielen konnte. Sie kann zwar ringen, und das nun überaus schwer im Jenseits, jedoch wird sie jenen Grad, der der Gotteskindschaft Voraussetzung ist, schwerlich drüben erreichen. Es hat der Herr nicht umsonst die Erde zum Mittelpunkt Seiner Schöpfung gemacht.... Er hat die Menschen ausgestattet mit jeglicher Fähigkeit, die ihnen vollauf genügt, sich emporzuarbeiten zu einem Gott-ähnlichen Geschöpf.... Und die Liebe des göttlichen Schöpfers ist wiederum so tief, daß sie das Erdenkind emporzieht.... Wo aber dieses weder dieser Vaterliebe achtet noch die Fähigkeiten pflegt, die seinen geistigen Fortschritt gewährleistet, gilt sein Sinn auch nicht der Annäherung an den Schöpfer und Erzeuger. Es wendet sich mehr dem Gegenpol zu, der alle Mittel seinerseits anwendet, um diese Annäherung an die ewige Gottheit zu verhindern, dafür aber dem Menschen alle irdischen Güter leicht zugänglich macht.... ihn also in den Bann der Materie geraten läßt, die Materie dadurch vermehrt und ein Höher-Entwickeln der Seele auf Erden verhindern will. Die geistigen Einwirkungen der Gegenmacht sind ungeheuer und vergiften so das Denken derer, die zu schwach sind, um Widerstand zu bieten. Und doch hat Gott der Herr alle Menschen zum gleichen Ziel geschaffen.... Er hat sie alle berufen, Träger Seiner göttlichen Kraft zu werden.... Er zeigt ihnen allen den rechten Weg, Er teilet ihnen Gnaden aus noch und noch, und dennoch wird dieser Liebe nicht geachtet in dem Maß, wie es nötig wäre zur Erlangung des Reifegrades auf Erden.... Es wird des öfteren wohl Kenntnis genommen von dieser Gnadenzuwendung und von der offensichtlichen Liebe Gottes, doch ohne eigenes Streben kann der Mensch nimmermehr diesen Grad erreichen, und also muß zuvor sein Wille tätig sein und sich bewußt dem höchsten Ziel auf Erden widmen, und er darf nicht die Aufgabe vergessen, die ihm für das Erdenleben gesetzt ist, dann wird er seinem Erdenleben mehr Beachtung schenken in geistiger Hinsicht, und dieses sein Leben wird nicht nutzlos gelebt sein für die Ewigkeit....
