Compassion.... Sick and weak people....

Take care of the sick and the weak, and consider that they are suffering and need your help. You should be compassionate and constantly consider the welfare of these poor people, whose physical afflictions make their life intolerable, you should try to alleviate this suffering and selflessly help them at all times. This is pleasing to God, and since you are all children of God, one shall also be concerned for the other and not allow heartlessness or indifference towards your fellow human being arise in you. How often do people pass by the sick and the weak without offering them a comforting word, it is very depressing for these sufferers. They are helpless in their state and grateful for every word granted by love.... And how often do they have to go without because no considerate word is spoken to them. They are lonely, and their soul is seized by profound sadness, for it hungers for love and is only scantily considered....

And the Lord teaches compassion.... and promises eternal bliss, for compassion presupposes love, and only a labour of love will bring salvation to the soul. Compassion is purest neighbourly love, for it wants to help and expects nothing in return.... A person can be ailing in body as well as in soul.... and bringing him help is always inexpressibly valuable.... speaking words of comfort to the physically weak and offering the psychologically sick and frail the right remedy out of kind-hearted neighbourly love.... For the body’s suffering will come to an end one day but not that of the soul unless it is approached by active neighbourly love bringing it help to escape its adversity.

The weak and ailing person, however, needs twice as much support, for the body’s weakness often also lets the soul descend into helplessness, and it can only be helped by selfless love which, as it were, awakens the soul from its lethargic state and thus stimulates it to take care of improving its condition. Then the human being will also bear his physical suffering with patience, if only the soul has come to the right recognition on account of its fellow human being’s active help which supported it during its adversity.

Any actively compassionate person can bestow untold blessings, for the earthly child will feel this both earthly as well as spiritually, and the thus considered person will have to feel relieved and, on account of the spiritual strength which shines across with every deed of love, turn his gaze upwards. And thus will love and compassion for sick and weak people result in twice as many blessings.... It will help to improve the physical condition of the sick and weak and simultaneously be extremely beneficial for the soul, and therefore, don’t forget to grant them your help and kind-hearted sympathy, lift them up physically and spiritually, and thereby also let their time of suffering become a time of spiritual maturing for them.... and the Lord will bless those who are full of compassion towards their suffering fellow human beings....

La Compassion pour les personnes malades et faibles

Prenez soin des malades et des faibles et rappelez-vous qu'ils souffrent et ont besoin de votre aide. Vous devez être compatissant et penser constamment à ces pauvres à qui des souffrances corporelles rendent insupportable la vie terrestre, vous devez chercher à adoucir cette souffrance et les aider à tout instant. Ceci est agréable à Dieu, parce que vu que vous êtes tous Ses fils, vous devez aussi être préoccupé l'un pour l'autre et ne pas faire se lever entre vous l’insensibilité ou l’indifférence envers les souffrances du prochain. Combien de fois les hommes croisent des malades et des faibles sans leur adresser un mot de consolation, et cela est très déprimant pour ceux qui souffrent. Dans leur état ils sont abandonnés et reconnaissants pour toute parole concédée par amour. Et combien de fois ils doivent languir, parce qu'à leur oreille il n'arrive pas un seul mot affectueux. Ils sont seuls, et une profonde tristesse s'empare de leur âme, parce qu'elle est affamée d'amour et il lui en est donné seulement d’une manière insuffisante.

Le Seigneur enseigne la Compassion, et promet une éternelle béatitude, car la compassion présuppose l'amour, et seulement un travail d’amour apporte à l'âme la Libération. Et la compassion est le plus pur amour pour le prochain, parce qu'elle veut apporter l'aide et n'attend rien en retour. L'homme peut être malade dans le corps et aussi dans l'âme, et il est toujours indiciblement précieux de lui apporter de l'aide, d'encourager par des paroles de réconfort celui qui est physiquement faible et d’apporter une demi-guérison au psychologiquement malade de l'âme et au fragile par un amour miséricordieux du prochain. Parce que la souffrance du corps arrivera un jour à une fin, mais pas celle de l'âme, s'il n'est pas donné un amour actif au prochain et s’il n’est pas aidé à sortir de sa misère.

La personne faible et malade a besoin d'une double subsistance, parce que la faiblesse du corps a précipité souvent l'âme dans la faiblesse, et elle peut être aidée seulement par un amour désintéressé, qui réveille également l'âme de sa léthargie et la stimule pour se soigner afin d’améliorer son état. Alors l'homme portera avec patience aussi sa souffrance corporelle, si seulement l'âme a trouvé la juste connaissance et cela à travers l'amour actif du prochain qui l'a assisté dans sa misère.

Toute personne activement compatissante peut conférer des bénédictions indicibles, parce que le fils terrestre les ressentira spirituellement comme aussi dans le corps, et la personne soignée se sentira soulagée, et tournera son regard en haut grâce à la force spirituelle qui rayonne à travers chaque œuvre d'amour, et donc l'amour et la compassion auront un double effet de bénédiction sur l'homme malade et faible. Ils contribueront à améliorer les malades et les faibles dans leur état et sera en même temps très bénéfique à l'état de l'âme, donc n'oubliez pas de leur offrir votre aide et votre affectueuse participation pour les soulager physiquement et spirituellement et faire devenir pour eux le temps de leur souffrance un temps de mûrissement spirituel, et le Seigneur bénira ceux qui sont pleins de compassion pour les souffrances du prochain.
