Depressions.... suffering is the father’s love....

An indescribable longing will awaken in you if you strive for perfection and think of the delights of heaven. And this desire will contribute towards removing the soul's fetters, for the desire for the world and earthly pleasures will decrease to the same extent, the desire for earthly possessions will dwindle and only that which signifies happiness for the soul will be desired. And if you are in this state all depression will also disappear, for all worldly things will no longer affect you, the soul will become free and disregard the body, and then nothing will be able to weigh it down which causes it pain in a less perfect state. And so accept this comfort and only work undaunted on yourself, then you will also overcome such hours where the pressure of earth still weighs too heavily on you. The father in heaven knows about the hardships of His children, and yet they cannot stay away completely; they should spur on what is tired and purify what is not yet clean. Keeping this in mind, every day will bring you its blessings, and you will come ever closer to the state of liberation. So often the soul lets itself drift, it sways to and fro and is not yet firm in itself, and then it needs such depressions to strengthen it and to stir up the desire for its creator. When it has overcome such moods, then it will again be light and clear within itself, and it lives with double concern for its liberation.

It sometimes remains incomprehensible to people how God's fatherly love often expresses itself in a way that touches people painfully, they cannot find an explanation for it because they are unable to judge what unspeakable misery their fate would be if only beautiful and joyful things always awaited them on earth and that this misery would be far more painful than the earth's suffering. The father’s infinite love is only ever willing to give and has never wanted people to suffer.... as long as they do not violate divine order, every suffering would stay away from them and they would only ever feel God's kindness and love. But if their own will impels them to violate divine order and thus they would have to endure unspeakable suffering in the beyond, because God has to be a just judge after all and cannot deny people's sense of justice out of love for them, He will try to convince people of their wrong thoughts and actions while they are still on earth.... He will try to influence them favourably and make them compliant with divine will, and this in every way.... through His word, which makes His will known.... through admonitions and constant references to the suffering and misfortune of fellow human beings and precisely through suffering which affects the human being himself.... but which can only be called minimal compared to the suffering which awaits the incorrigible human being in the beyond. Man on earth is not receptive to the exceedingly great love oft he lord.... The love of the world has taken such hold of him that he, blinded by its splendour and shine, does not recognize the warm, mild light of divine love.... for the adversary fights with violent means. He seeks to awaken the love of splendour and magnificence in the human being, and if the human heart succumbs to this love it will no longer feel the breath of divine love. And if the father in heaven still wants to bring Himself to people's remembrance, He can only do so through suffering.... for it is in suffering that people are most likely to find their way back to Him, and suffering can then become an unexpected blessing, where otherwise the love of the divine saviour on earth is not respected....

우울증. 고통은 아버지의 사랑이다.

너희가 온전하게 되기 위해 노력하고, 하늘나라의 행복을 생각할 때, 말할 수 없는 그리움이 너희 안에서 깨어나게 될 것이다. 이런 갈망이 혼의 족쇄를 제거하는 일에 도움이 될 것이다. 왜냐하면 세상을 향한 갈망과 세상의 기쁨이 같은 정도로 줄어들기 때문이다. 세상 물질을 향한 생각이 사라지게 될 것이다. 단지 혼에 행복을 의미하는 그것만을 갈망하게 될 것이다. 너희가 이런 상태에 있게 되면, 모든 우울증도 또한 사라질 것이다. 왜냐하면 세상의 모든 것이 이제는 너희에게 영향을 미치지 못하기 때문이다. 혼은 자유로워지고 육체에는 주의를 기울이지 않게 될 것이다. 그러면 적은 온전한 상태에서는 혼에 고통을 주는, 혼을 힘들게 하는 것이 아무것도 없게 될 것이다. 너희는 이 위로를 받아들이라. 단지 끈기가 있게 자신을 향한 작업을 하라. 그러면 이 땅의 압력이 아직 너를 너무 무겁게 짓누르는 곳에서 이런 시간을 극복할 것이다.

하늘의 아버지는 자신의 자녀들이 위험을 안다. 그러나 자녀들에게 이런 위험이 완전하게 없을 수 없다. 그들은 그들이 피곤해지는 곳에서 격려를 받아야 하고, 아직 불순물로부터 깨끗하지 않은 것을 정화해야 한다. 이를 염두에 둔다면, 매일 너에게 축복을 줄 것이다. 너는 해방된 상태에 항상 더 가까워질 것이다. 혼은 자주 표류하고, 이리저리 흔들리고, 아직 자신 안에서 확고하게 자리 잡지 못했다. 그러면 혼을 굳게 하고, 혼에 창조자를 향한 갈망을 불러일으키려면, 그런 우울증이 필요하다. 혼이 그런 기분을 극복했다면, 혼의 내면이 다시 밝아지고, 맑아지고, 혼은 해방되는 일에 두 배의 관심을 가지고 살아간다.

하늘 아버지의 사랑이 얼마나 고통을 주는 방식으로 나타나는지, 사람들은 한동안 설명할 수 없는 상태로 머문다. 만약에 그들이 이 땅에서 항상 단지 아름답고 즐거운 일만을 기다리고 있었다면, 어떤 말 할 수 없는 비참함이 혼의 운명이 되었을지 판단할 수 없고, 이 땅의 고난보다 이 비참함이 훨씬 더 고통스럽게 될 것임을 판단할 수 없기 때문이다. 아버지의 무한한 사랑이 이제 항상 베풀 준비가 되어있고, 절대로 사람들이 고통당하는 일을 원하지 않는다. 사람들이 하나님의 질서를 어기지 않는 동안에는, 사람들은 고통에서 벗어나고, 항상 단지 하나님의 선하심과 사랑을 느끼게 될 것이다.

그러나 이제 그들 자신의 의지가 그들을 하나님의 질서를 어기도록 인도하고, 그러므로 그들은 저세상에서 말할 수 없는 고통을 견뎌야만 할 것이다. 왜냐하면 하나님은 정의로운 재판관이어야만 하고, 인간을 향한 사랑으로 정의의 감각을 부인할 수 없기 때문이다. 그러므로 그는 사람이 이 땅에 거하는 동안 그의 잘못된 생각과 행동을 확신시켜주려고 한다. 그는 사람에게 도움이 되게 영향을 미치고, 모든 면에서 자신의 말씀을 통해, 자기 뜻을 알려주는 일을 통해, 이웃 사람들의 고통과 불행에 대해 그리고 자신에게 영향을 미치는 고통을 통해. 그러나 개선이 될 수 없는 사람을 기다리고 있는 저세상의 고통에 비하면, 최소한의 고통이라고 부를 수 있는 고통을 통해, 하나님의 뜻에 복종하게 만들려고 한다.

이 땅의 인간은 주님의 큰 사랑을 받아들이지 않는다. 세상을 향한 사랑이 사람을 너무 사로잡아, 그가 세상의 광채와 화려함에 눈이 멀게 되었고, 따뜻하고 온화한 하나님의 사랑의 빛을 깨닫지 못한다. 왜냐하면 대적자들이 폭력적인 수단으로 싸우기 때문이다. 그는 사람들의 광채와 화려함을 향한 사랑을 일깨우려고 한다. 왜냐하면 인간의 심장이 이 사랑에 굴복할 때, 이제는 하나님의 사랑의 숨결을 느끼지 못하기 때문이다. 하늘의 아버지가 아직 이런 사람들을 상기시키기려고 하면, 그는 단지 고난을 통해서만 그렇게 할 수 있다. 왜냐하면 고난 속에서 그는 아버지께 돌아가는 길을 찾을 가능성이 가장 크기 때문이다. 그렇지 않으면 이 땅을 향한 구세주 하나님의 사랑에 주의를 기울이지 않는 곳에서, 고난이 아직 측량할 수 없는 축복이 될 수 있다.
