(Continuation of No. 0767) Spiritual blindness.... labourious work of the spiritual beings....

In the night of the spirit all realization is excluded, the ignorant continue to resist, they do not desire the light but believe they do not need it, for in their delusion they only have a sense for that which is in strict opposition to true realization.... they are convinced that they can manage without spiritual knowledge, they rather perceive all spiritual problems as a burden which they want to avoid by keeping away from everything that could impair their previous thinking. As a result, these people experience a spiritual emptiness. Their earthly life occupies them completely and they walk through God's creation as if blind, nowhere hearing the voice of the lord or paying attention to it. The more this state prevails, the more alarming the consequences. In unspeakably arduous labour, the spiritual forces now struggle for the souls languishing in such darkness. Their work is visible and invisible. They bring together those who instruct each other, they guide the thoughts and are pleased when their influence is heeded and the human being willingly allows himself to be guided.... when he carries out what his heart drives him to do, when he yields to the spiritual impulse within himself without resistance and spiritually distances himself from the earthly world for a short time. This is so extraordinarily arduous because it often takes a long time before the earthly child heeds the spiritual call to separate itself from the purely material. The resistance is sometimes so strong that the influence of the spiritual forces is unsuccessful and the erring soul continues to be in severe distress, which the human being as such does not recognize and therefore does not remedy the soul's agonizing state. And so time after time passes, and where there is no possibility to change a person's mind, the spiritual beings help themselves in community.... They try to disrupt all earthly joy.... In their distress they resort to a means that is seemingly unloving and yet only testifies to the great love of the spiritual beings for earthly creatures.... They let bitter drops flow into every joy.... they cause, so to speak, that even earthly joys are not a complete fulfilment of earthly desires.... and thus lay the foundation for inner dissatisfaction, which increases more and more the more resistance the earth child puts up to the work of the spirit friends. In connection with this all joy of life will appear stale and empty, the soul will restlessly wander to and fro, it will search where it finds complete fulfilment, it will recognize earthly pleasures as transient and only then pay attention to spiritual questions, and when after long arduous work the friends on the other side can record this success, its joy is indescribable, for only now is the soul saved and receptive to everything that comes to it from above.

But now the spirit is able to spread significant light, and there will be brightness where before there was deepest darkness, and spiritual blindness will give way to the clearest realization. Precisely where one believes to be in the deepest knowledge, a procedure is often necessary to transform a person's thinking. The few who recognize correctly are often unable to convey their spiritual knowledge to them; they encounter contradiction and their gift, although gladly offered, is not accepted. The heavenly truth is not properly recognized.... the thoroughly spiritual attitude, which is a prerequisite for recognizing divine wisdom, is not taken into account. The gifts from above only penetrate a person's heart as such if the spiritual desire for them is a prerequisite. Whoever immerses himself in his innermost being and at the same time makes the flight into infinity, whoever seeks to fathom the eternal deity and in doing so deeply humbly surrenders to It, whoever recognizes a purpose in earthly life other than just the fulfilment of earthly destiny, whoever views every event on earth only from a spiritual point of view, his heart is receptive to divine gifts.... He will soon separate everything earthly from the spiritual.... he will recognize two worlds, but always the one as a means to an end.... to mature for the second, the spiritual world. Love should certainly permeate everything, it should determine all actions in earthly life, it should work without ceasing so that the spirit will come alive through love, so that the human being will become free through love.... But love should always give, but love of possession should never prevail. But true love will at the same time be a renunciation and therefore a separation from matter; and spiritual striving will never again be for earthly goals but only for the union with God as eternal love.... Therefore do not seek the last goal in a state of perfection on earth. Earth is and remains for humanity what it always was.... the abode where the soul is to mature through resistance for its actual destiny, where it is to recognize that only in the spiritual kingdom is its true home, towards which it is to strive without ceasing....

(continuação do nº 767) Cegueira espiritual.... O Trabalho Eficaz dos Seres Espirituais....

Na noite do espírito é excluída toda a cognição, os ignorantes resistem em contínua resistência, não desejam a luz mas acreditam não precisar dela, pois na sua ilusão só têm um sentido para aquilo que está em estrita oposição à verdadeira cognição.... estão convencidos de que podem passar sem conhecimento espiritual, são muito mais propensos a sentir todos os problemas espirituais como um fardo do qual querem fugir, mantendo-se afastados de tudo o que os possa prejudicar no seu pensamento anterior. E assim ocorre um vazio espiritual nessas pessoas. Sua vida terrena os ocupa completamente e eles caminham através da criação de Deus como se fossem cegos, em nenhum lugar ouvindo a voz do Senhor ou prestando atenção a ela. Quanto mais esta condição se torna prevalecente, mais alarmantes são as consequências. Em indizível labuta, as forças espirituais agora lutam para as almas que estão definhando em tal escuridão. Visível e invisível é o trabalho destes. Eles reúnem aqueles que se instruem mutuamente, guiam os pensamentos e se alegram quando a sua influência é atendida e o ser humano se deixa guiar.... quando realiza o que o seu coração o impele a fazer, quando cede ao impulso espiritual dentro de si sem resistência e se distancia espiritualmente do mundo terreno por um curto período de tempo. Isto é tão extraordinariamente trabalhoso, porque muitas vezes passa muito tempo até que a criança terrena escute o chamado espiritual para se separar do puramente material. A resistência é por vezes tão poderosa que a influência das forças espirituais não tem êxito e a alma errante continua em grave adversidade, que o ser humano enquanto tal não reconhece e, portanto, não remedeia o estado agonizante da alma. E assim, tempo após tempo, e onde não há possibilidade de mudar a mente de uma pessoa, lá os seres espirituais se ajudam a si mesmos na comunhão.... Eles tentam perturbar toda a alegria terrena.... Na sua angústia recorrem a um meio aparentemente pouco amoroso e, no entanto, apenas testemunham o grande amor dos seres espirituais pelas criaturas terrestres.... Deixam as gotas amargas fluir em cada alegria.... elas provocam, por assim dizer, que mesmo as alegrias terrenas não são a realização completa dos desejos terrenos.... e assim lançam as bases para a insatisfação interior, que aumenta cada vez mais a resistência da criança terrena à atividade dos amigos espirituais. Em ligação com isso, toda a alegria de vida parecerá viciada e vazia, a alma vagará incansavelmente de um lado para o outro, buscará onde pode encontrar a realização completa, reconhecerá os prazeres terrenos como transitórios e só então prestará atenção às questões espirituais, e quando, após um longo e árduo trabalho, os amigos do outro lado puderem registrar esse sucesso, sua alegria é indescritível, pois só agora a alma está salva e receptiva a tudo o que vem de cima para ela.

Mas agora o espírito é capaz de espalhar luz significativa, e haverá brilho onde antes havia trevas mais profundas, e a cegueira espiritual dará lugar ao mais claro reconhecimento. Só ali, onde se acredita estar no mais profundo conhecimento, um procedimento é muitas vezes apropriado para transformar o pensamento do homem. Os poucos que sabem corretamente são muitas vezes incapazes de lhes transmitir seu conhecimento espiritual; eles encontram oposição, e seu dom, embora oferecido com prazer, não é aceito. A verdade celestial não é devidamente reconhecida.... A atitude completamente espiritual, que é um pré-requisito para o reconhecimento da sabedoria divina, não é levada em conta. Os dons de cima só penetram o coração humano como tal se o desejo espiritual por eles for um pré-requisito. Qualquer um que se afunda no seu íntimo e, ao mesmo tempo, foge para o infinito, qualquer um que procura sondar a Deidade eterna e, ao mesmo tempo, entrega-se profundamente a ela, qualquer um que reconhece outro propósito na vida terrena que não apenas a realização do destino terreno, qualquer um que só vê todos os acontecimentos na Terra do ponto de vista espiritual, o seu coração está receptivo aos dons divinos. Em breve ele vai separar tudo o que é terreno do espiritual.... ele vai reconhecer dois mundos, mas sempre um como meio para um fim.... a amadurecer para o segundo, o mundo espiritual. O amor deve realmente permear tudo, deve determinar todas as ações na vida terrena, deve funcionar sem interrupção para que o espírito ganhe vida através do amor, para que o ser humano se torne livre através do amor.... O amor, porém, deve sempre dar, mas o amor pela posse nunca deve prevalecer. Mas, ao mesmo tempo, o verdadeiro amor será uma renúncia e, portanto, uma separação da matéria; e o esforço espiritual nunca mais será dirigido para metas terrenas, mas apenas para a unificação com Deus como amor eterno.... Portanto, não busque o objetivo final em estado de perfeição na Terra. A Terra é e permanece para a humanidade o que sempre foi.... a morada onde a alma amadurecerá por oposição ao seu verdadeiro destino, onde reconhecerá que só no reino espiritual é o seu verdadeiro lar, para o qual se esforçará sem cessar....
