Will to serve.... awakening of the inner life.... wanting....

Life's true joy is always only the will to serve, for if the deity demands that you subordinate your will to It, it will thereby give you an activity which will make you exceedingly happy.... for it gives the earthly child the most heartfelt joy to place itself at the lord's service, to renounce all earthly pleasures for His sake and to be able to absorb the teachings of heaven. And so the will to serve will give the earthly child an abundance of gifts, for he who serves God is far above all those who rule on earth. The lord gives His instructions to all creatures and each one carries out the lord's will, yet unconsciously, through the activity which is given to it as a task in life.... However, the human being is not forced to fulfil his earthly task.... it is entirely up to him to freely create his life and in the midst of this life to choose the path to God or not.... whether he wants to serve or does not recognize God and only believes himself to be shaping destiny.... but denies an eternal judge.... The slightest question of thought in good will about the truth will help you on the path of realization, for the lord gives all seekers the right clue. But it will be difficult for those who are completely without faith.... who stifle every stirring of their heart for spiritual realization.... who only see the world and its joys or sorrows and who can never separate their thoughts from the purely earthly. Where there is still a spark in them that longs for truth, where a thought is still able to soar into spiritual regions, the person will not be left alone and his spirit will receive the ray of light that shines into the darkness of the night. Then he will begin to understand everything that has happened to him so far.... He sees his life passing by as a mirror image, and then thoughts awaken in him that are far removed from his actual views.... He scrutinizes and weighs and compares.... And he finds many a true word from the teaching of Christ, which only now becomes understandable to him. The soul now treads a new path.... But just as all seekers are plagued by doubts, a spiritually orientated thought will also be rejected again and again at the beginning until it nevertheless asserts itself and is now firmly accepted in the heart and thus the inner life of the person has awakened to lively activity. Many a step has to be taken again and again, but such a striving earthly child will be supported once it has turned to the question of the supernatural of its own free will. Only the one who rejects everything spiritual cannot be helped so easily, as otherwise free will would be put out of action and therefore a furtherance of the soul could not be achieved. The constant groping and searching for spiritual truth will also make an earthly child receptive for every spiritual strength coming towards him.... Where a person desires to be enlightened, the spark has already been ignited.... It is only a small flame, but it stimulates more diligent research and the power of darkness is broken. Every human being only needs to have taken the first step of their own free will.... to lift his thoughts into infinity with the desire to come closer to the truth.... Then he has broken the spell that kept him bound to earth until then, and from then on his spirit soars into light heights.... You children of the earth only need to want.... everything else comes to you so naturally through God's love and grace that you only ever need to obey the subtle stirrings of the heart, which so surely guides and points you towards the eternal deity.... and if you serve Him you will receive, and that to the same extent as you are willing to serve. For God promises to all who serve Him that they shall one day reign for all eternity....

De wil om te dienen - Het ontwaken van het innerlijke leven - Willen

De ware vreugde van het leven is steeds slechts de wil om te dienen, want als de Godheid van jou verlangt dat je je wil aan haar ondergeschikt maakt, dan geeft ze je daardoor een werkzaamheid die je mateloos gelukkig maakt. Want het verschaft het mensenkind de innigste vreugde als het zich in dienst stelt van de Heer, als het van alle aardse vreugden afziet omwille van Hem en als het de leringen van de hemel in zich op kan nemen. En zo zal de wil om te dienen het mensenkind rijkelijk begiftigen, want wie God dient, staat ver boven allen die op aarde heersen.

De Heer geeft Zijn instructies aan alle schepselen en iedereen voert de wil van de Heer uit, hoewel onbewust, door de werkzaamheid die hem als levenstaak is gesteld. Maar de mens wordt niet gedwongen om zijn aardse opgave te vervullen. Het wordt volledig aan hem overgelaten zijn leven vrij in te richten en in dit leven de weg naar God te kiezen of niet, of hij wil dienen of God niet erkent en alleen zichzelf in staat waant zijn lot gestalte te geven, maar een eeuwige rechter ontkent.

De geringste vraag naar de waarheid die vanuit een oprecht verlangen naar de waarheid in de gedachten opkomt, zal jullie behulpzaam zijn op de weg naar inzicht, want de Heer geeft alle zoekenden de juiste vingerwijzing. Maar het wordt moeilijk voor degenen die volledig zonder geloof zijn, die elke aspiratie van hun hart naar geestelijk inzicht verstikken, die slechts de wereld en haar vreugden of zorgen zien en die hun gedachten nooit van het louter aardse kunnen losmaken.

Waar er in hen nog een vonk is die naar waarheid verlangt, waar er nog een gedachte naar geestelijke regionen kan uitgaan, daar zal de mens niet alleen worden gelaten en zijn geest neemt de lichtstraal op, die in de duisternis van de nacht voor hem schijnt. Dan ontstaat in hem een zwak begrip van alles wat hem tot dan toe overkomen is. Hij ziet zijn leven als een spiegelbeeld aan zich voorbijtrekken en dan worden in hem gedachten wakker die ver afwijken van zijn oorspronkelijke opvattingen. Hij onderzoekt en overdenkt en vergelijkt. En in de leer van Christus vindt hij menig waar woord, dat nu pas voor hem begrijpelijk wordt. De ziel betreedt nu een nieuwe weg.

Maar zoals alle zoekenden door twijfels geplaagd worden, zo zal in het begin een geestelijk georiënteerde gedachte ook steeds weer verworpen worden, totdat deze gedachte evenwel terrein wint en nu vast in het hart wordt opgenomen en zo het innerlijke leven van de mens oproept tot actieve werkzaamheid. Menige stap moet steeds opnieuw worden gezet, maar toch wordt een mensenkind dat zo streeft, ondersteund, als het zich eerst eenmaal uit eigen wil op de vraag naar het bovenaardse heeft gericht. Alleen degene die al het geestelijke afwijst, kan niet zo gemakkelijk geholpen worden, aangezien anders de vrije wil buiten werking zou zijn gesteld en er zodoende geen vooruitgang van de ziel bereikt zou kunnen worden.

Het voortdurende tasten en zoeken naar geestelijke waarheid zal een kind van de aarde ook ontvankelijk maken voor elke geestelijke kracht die hem tegemoetkomt. Waar de mens ernaar verlangt dat het voor hem licht wordt, daar is de vonk reeds ontstoken. Het is slechts een klein vlammetje, maar dit vlammetje zet wederom aan tot ijverig zoeken en dan is het gezag van de duistere macht gebroken.

Elk menselijk wezen hoeft alleen maar uit vrije wil de eerste stap te hebben gezet om zijn gedachten op te heffen naar de oneindigheid met de wens nader tot de waarheid te komen. Dan heeft hij de ban gebroken die hem tot dan toe aan de aarde geketend hield en voortaan verheft zijn geest zich naar heldere hoogtes.

Jullie kinderen op aarde hoeven alleen maar te willen. Al het overige komt jullie dan door Gods Liefde en genade vanzelfsprekend toe, zodat jullie steeds slechts aandachtig moeten luisteren naar de fijne opwellingen van het hart, dat jullie zo zeker leidt en de weg wijst naar de eeuwige Godheid. En wanneer jullie haar dienen, zullen jullie ontvangen en dat precies in de mate die overeenkomt met jullie bereidheid om te dienen. Want God belooft allen die Hem dienen, dat ze later zullen heersen tot in alle eeuwigheid.
