Disadvantage of cultural development.... Worldly wisdom.... Forces of nature.... Charities....

Out of such connection grows the greatest blessing for you, and therefore always begin your daily work with intimate prayer. The Savior of all the worlds is now again passing through the earth valley. His mission is to teach the world the true faith. But little has changed during this time. It is an extremely difficult beginning to put the belief in an afterlife into the hearts of people who deny everything supernatural in a truly sacrilegious way.... Today's cultural development has the large disadvantage that it produces innumerable worldly wisdoms and fights therefore from this perspective particularly against everything indicating a life outside of the earth.

And so the progress on earth is always a disadvantage for everything spiritual. The active striving and haste, which fills people day in and day out, leaves them little or no time for the development of the spirit.... for the work on their soul. They do not notice how fast their time is passing by, they follow their earthly activity unaffected that only now and then a thought turns to infinity.... And this is the most unhealthy foundation on which spiritual building can proceed. It is not only the excessively time-consuming earthly activity that hinders man, but rather the spiritual knowledge that such people believe to have and against which it is far more difficult to fight.

To open up a field of knowledge to a not so wise person is considerably easier.... but to want to convey spiritual knowledge to a person who is well versed in all knowledge, is far more hopeless.... The whole existence of this man depends in his opinion only on his earthly activity.... A thought of something higher, of an existence formed in any other form after his bodily death, is to him something that only requires a quiet smile of superior knowledge, and yet such a wise man on earth knows nothing.... His spiritual, soul-supporting activity shows gaps upon gaps....

That is why the Lord has now taken care and has chosen His servants with the ability to confront them with extraordinary proofs of His power and will. It will be a desperate struggle for these souls, who often do not want to take the trouble to seriously examine an apparent proof of the Divine work.... But forces of nature will also bring them enlightenment at the same time, so that they try to turn their thought-activity away from the earthly and to penetrate into infinity....

But what a struggle of the spirit-beings and the servants on earth has to engage in for these self-exalting earthly children.... The universe with all it's splendor, all phenomena around and above, are not enough to awaken even one small glimmer of light in these.... and the charitable institutions striven for in the world also deprive them of the last chance to cultivate a love-field for themselves, where the Divine Source of grace would be opened up to them through an activity in love and where they could then give food to the spirit within themselves out of love....

That is why an ever wider gap lies between the children on earth and the spirit-beings active around them because love is so little practiced and without love, the spirit remains in darkness and a development of the soul can only be achieved with difficulty. Because the assumption that an earthly child attains a perfect spiritual state through an apparently civilized life on earth, is wrong.... The soul must be redeemed from within, and this only love can bring about, and only where this is active, the still existing darkness of the spirit is to be banished, and also the light of recognition will still shine for these people, when they only make an effort to cultivate love.... Then also the grace of the Lord will meet them lovingly and let them safely find the way leading upwards into the heavenly kingdom....

Lo svantaggio dello sviluppo culturale – I saggi del mondo - Potenze della natura – Istituzioni di beneficenza

Da una tale unione ti sorge la più grande Benedizione, e perciò comincia la tua opera del giorno sempre nell’intima preghiera. Il Salvatore di tutti i mondi passa ora di nuovo attraverso la valle terrena. La Sua Missione è di insegnare al mondo la vera fede. Ma in questo tempo è cambiato qualcosa, E’ un’impresa oltremodo difficile di mettere nel cuore la fede in un aldilà di coloro, che rinnegano tutto il soprannaturale in un modo davvero oltraggioso. L’attuale sviluppo culturale ha il grande svantaggio di convincere la maggior parte dei saggi del mondo e con ciò viene combattuto particolarmente da questo lato ciò che potrebbe indicare ad una vita al di fuori della Terra. E così il progresso in campo terreno è sempre uno svantaggio per lo spirituale. Il vivace tendere e correre che colma gli uomini giorno dopo giorno, lascia loro poco o nessun tempo per lo sviluppo dello spirituale, per il lavoro sulla loro anima. Non considerano quanto velocemente corre via il loro tempo, eseguono soltanto fermamente la loro attività terrena, non si rivolge quasi nessun pensiero all’Infinito. E questa è la base più malsana, sulla quale possa prosperare un costruire spirituale. Non soltanto l’attività terrena che ruba troppo tempo ostacola gli uomini, ma piuttosto la conoscenza spirituale che un tale uomo crede di avere e contro questa è molto più difficile da combattere. E’ molto più facile dischiudere un campo del sapere davanti a qualcuno che non si crede saggio, ma voler trasmettere un sapere spirituale ad uno che vuole essere istruito in tutto il sapere, è molto più disperato. Tutto l’essere di quest’uomo secondo la sua opinione dipende solo dalla sua attività terrena. Un pensiero a qualcosa di più alto, ad una qualunque altra forma d’esistenza dopo la sua morte corporea è per lui qualcosa, che gli sottrae solo un leggero sorriso del sapiente superiore, e malgrado ciò un tale uomo terreno saggio non sa nulla. La sua attività spirituale che promuove l’anima, mostra lacuna su lacuna. Perciò ora il Signore ha provveduto ed eletto i Suoi servitori di poter venir incontro a costoro con straordinarie dimostrazione della Sua Forza e della Sua Volontà. Sarà ben una lotta disperata per queste anime, che sovente non vogliono sforzarsi, di esaminare seriamente una evidente dimostrazione dell’Agire divino. Ma anche delle potenze della natura porteranno loro contemporaneamente l’illuminazione, in modo che cercano di distogliere l’attività dei loro pensieri dal terreno e di penetrare nell’Infinito. Ma quale lotta degli esseri spirituali e dei servitori sulla Terra deve iniziare per questo figlio terreno che si eleva al di sopra di sé stesso. Il Cosmo con tutto il suo fasto, tutti i fenomeni intorno ed al di sopra di lui, non bastano per risvegliare in lui un piccolo bagliore di Luce, e nelle istituzioni di beneficenza volute dal mondo si derubano anche dell’ultima possibilità, di coltivare per sé stessi un campo d’amore, dove attraverso un’attività nell’amore gli verrebbe dischiusa la divina Fonte di Grazia e dall’amore potrebbero poi dare il Nutrimento allo spirito in sé. Perciò si mette una voragine sempre più larga fra i figli terreni e gli esseri spirituali attivi intorno a loro, perché l’amore viene esercitato così poco e senza questo lo spirito rimane nell’oscurità e si lascia solo difficilmente procurare uno sviluppo dell’anima. Perché la supposizione che un figlio terreno attraverso una apparente vita decente potesse giungere sulla Terra ad uno stato spirituale perfetto, è sbagliato. L’anima dev’essere redenta dall’interiore, e questo lo può operare solo l’amore, e solo dove questo è attivo, può ancora essere bandita l’oscurità dello spirito. Ed a questi uomini splenderà ancora la Luce della conoscenza, se soltanto si sforzano a curare l’amore. Allora la Grazia del Signore verrà loro amorevolmente incontro e farà loro trovare sicuri la via che conduce in Alto nel Regno celeste.
