Wert des Wissens gegenüber dem Zustand der Unwissenheit....

Eine fortwährende Veränderung der Außenform bringt es zuwege, daß das darin sich bergende Geistige zur Reife kommt, also sich ständig vorwärtsentwickelt. Und damit ist das ständige Werden und Vergehen jeglicher Schöpfungswerke begründet. Es ist der Höherentwicklungsprozeß also die Ursache; wie auch der Zweck der Schöpfung. Durch die Gnade der inneren Erleuchtung steht der Mensch im Wissen darum, und er betrachtet nun die Schöpfung als Mittel zur Vollendung des Geistigen.... Es ist aber der Sinn und Zweck der Schöpfung unverständlich den Menschen, denen das Wissen darum mangelt, denn unzählige Dinge bestehen in der Schöpfung, die ohne Sinn und Zweck erscheinen, weil sie keine ihnen ersichtliche zweckvolle Tätigkeit ausführen oder irgendwelchen Nutzen erkennen lassen. Dieser Mangel an Wissen hat nun zur Folge, daß die ewige Gottheit in Ihrer Größe, in Ihrer Liebe, Weisheit und Allmacht nicht recht erkannt wird.... er hat zur Folge, daß der Mensch auch nicht die Liebe zu Ihr empfinden kann, die das Erkennen Ihrer Vollkommenheit auslösen muß. Er hat ferner zur Folge, daß das Verlangen nach Gott nicht so tief sein kann, weil nur die Liebe zu Gott den Menschen antreibt, Ihm zuzustreben, sich Ihm anzugleichen. Eine solche Liebe wird im Menschen niemals entfacht werden, so ihm jegliches Walten und Wirken Gottes verborgen bleibt, er also völlig unwissend ist über den Sinn und Zweck der Schöpfung, über den Zusammenhang der einzelnen Schöpfungswerke mit Gott. Der wissende Zustand ist unstreitbar wertvoller für den Menschen als das Dahinleben in Unwissenheit. Der wissende Zustand ist ein Zeichen der Aufwärtsentwicklung, er ist ein geistiger Fortschritt, ein Zustand des Lichtes, der verständlicherweise dem Zustand der Unwissenheit, der Dunkelheit, vorzuziehen ist. Um den Sinn und Zweck der Schöpfung zu wissen, muß zu dem erforderlichen Reifegrad beitragen, der Zweck und Ziel des Erdenlebens ist. Die Schöpfung selbst nun verhilft dem Menschen zur rechten Erkenntnis, sowie dieser sie beachtet und fragende Gedanken ins Weltall hinaussendet und sich der ihm nun zuströmenden gedanklichen Antwort öffnet.... Denn Gottes Wille ist, daß der Mensch wissend werde, daß er Einblick nehme in Sein Walten und Wirken, soweit dies auf Erden zulässig ist. Die Menschen selbst bestimmen aber die Grenzen ihres Wissens durch ihren Willen, sowie dieser sich weigert, ein ihm dargebotenes Wissen anzunehmen, ohne es ernstlich zu prüfen, wieweit er es in sein Gedankengut überzeugt aufnehmen kann. Der Wille des Menschen ist frei, folglich muß ihm das Wissen so geboten werden, daß er nicht zur Annahme dessen gezwungen wird, was aber der Fall wäre, wenn ein solches Wissen bewiesen werden könnte oder der Mensch durch ein Wunder überzeugt würde von der Wahrheit dessen, was ihm als Wahrheit dargeboten wird. Es muß vielmehr der Mensch in aller Glaubens- und Willensfreiheit gedanklich Stellung nehmen zu jenem und sich dafür oder dagegen unbeeinflußt entscheiden. Und er muß auch das Wissen, das er zuvor aufgenommen hat, nochmals einer Prüfung unterziehen, wieweit dieses bestehen kann dem Neugebotenen gegenüber. Nur der ernsthaft die Wahrheit verlangende Mensch wird die Wahrheit auch als solche erkennen, und nur dort wird die Wahrheit sein, wo sie ernstlich begehrt wird.

Value of knowledge over the state of ignorance....

A continual change of the outer form brings about that the spiritual within comes to maturity, i.e. constantly develops further. And this is the reason for the constant becoming and passing away of all works of creation. The process of higher development is therefore the cause, as well as the purpose of creation. Through the grace of inner enlightenment, the human being is aware of this and now regards creation as a means to the perfection of the spiritual.... However, the meaning and purpose of creation is incomprehensible to people who lack knowledge of it, for countless things exist in creation which appear without meaning and purpose because they do not carry out any apparent purposeful activity or reveal any benefit. The consequence of this lack of knowledge is that the eternal deity is not properly recognized in Its greatness, in Its love, wisdom and omnipotence.... it has the consequence that man cannot feel the love for It which the recognition of Its perfection must trigger. It also means that the desire for God cannot be so deep because only love for God drives people to strive towards Him, to conform to Him. Such love will never be kindled in a person if all of God's reign and activity remains hidden from him, thus he is completely ignorant of the meaning and purpose of creation, of the connection between the individual works of creation and God. The knowing state is indisputably more valuable for man than living in ignorance. The knowing state is a sign of upward development, it is spiritual progress, a state of light, which is understandably preferable to the state of ignorance, of darkness. To know the meaning and purpose of creation must contribute to the necessary degree of maturity, which is the purpose and goal of life on earth. creation itself now helps man to the right knowledge as soon as he pays attention to it and sends questioning thoughts out into the universe and opens himself to the mental answer now flowing towards him.... For it is God's will that man should become knowledgeable, that he should gain insight into His reign and activity insofar as this is permissible on earth. But people themselves determine the limits of their knowledge through their will as soon as the latter refuses to accept knowledge offered to him without seriously examining the extent to which he can convincingly accept it into his thoughts. The human being's will is free, consequently knowledge has to be offered to him such that he is not forced to accept it, but this would be the case if such knowledge could be proven or the human being would be convinced by a miracle of the truth of what is offered to him as truth. Rather, the human being must mentally take a stand on it in all freedom of faith and will and decide for or against it without being influenced. And he must also re-examine the knowledge he has previously received to see how far it can stand up to what is newly offered. Only the person who seriously desires the truth will also recognize the truth as such, and the truth will only be where it is seriously desired.
