Buch des Lebens.... Zusammenfassende Gebote....

Jede Minute deines Lebens läßt der Herr bestimmend für die Ewigkeit an dir vorübergehen.... Alles, was du tust und denkst, ist im Buch des Lebens verzeichnet, deshalb mußt du wachen Geistes immer darauf bedacht sein, Seite für Seite dieses Buches zu füllen mit guten Werken und guten Gedanken.... für all dein Tun und Handeln bist du verantwortlich.... doch wenn dieses immer dem Willen Gottes entspricht, dann wird eine ungeahnte Glückseligkeit der Lohn deiner Taten und deines Wandelns auf Erden sein. Daher beachte: Lasse nie vergeblich deinen Nächsten bitten, sondern gib und erfülle eine jegliche Bitte, die dein Ohr berührt, soweit es dir möglich ist.... Achte keinen Menschen gering, so niedrigen Standes er auch sei, und gib ihm die ihm vor Gott zustehende Achtung.... Sei deinem Mitmenschen ein Berater in leiblicher und geistiger Not, wenn er irregeht auf seinem Lebensweg oder schwer zu Gott dem Herrn findet.... Vergib ihnen immer von Herzen, was sie dir Übles antun, und sinne nicht auf Vergeltung, denn diese allein übet der Herr, ihr aber sollt lieben auch eure Feinde.... Bleibe demütig im Herzen, und erkenne stets die unendliche Größe und Liebe des himmlischen Vaters, die sich zu den kleinsten Wesen der Schöpfung neigt, so auch zu dir, um dich zu sich hinanzuziehen.... Bleibe verbunden in innigster Liebe mit deinem himmlischen Schöpfer, und flehe Ihn im Gebet um Seine Gnade und Seinen Segen auf allen deinen Lebenswegen an, auf daß dir dadurch die Kraft erwachse, tätig zu sein nach Seinem Willen.... Übe dich in der Sanftmut, in der Friedfertigkeit und in der Barmherzigkeit, denn nur dadurch kannst du ein Kind Gottes und als solches fähig werden, die Stimme des Herrn zu vernehmen.... Erkenne, wie alles um dich her nach Erlösung verlangt, und sei hilfsbereit, wo es gilt, die Herzen zu öffnen für das Heil, das allein aus dem Wort Gottes kommt.... Gedenke mit aller Liebe der Verstorbenen, die gleich dir ringen um Vollkommenheit.... Gib ihnen durch das Gebet die nötige Kraft und Unterstützung, derer sie bedürfen.... Dies alles vermag dich in einen Geisteszustand zu bringen, daß des Herrn Wirken an dir sich sichtbar äußert, denn nur, wer in aller Fülle die göttliche Gnade empfangen kann, weil er sich derer würdig macht, dem wird auch die Gnade eines sichtbaren Wirkens des Herrn zuteil.... wenn der Herr Aufenthalt nehmen kann in einem Herzen, das die Liebe zu Gott und den Mitmenschen sogestaltig geformt hat, daß die Seiten des Lebensbuches nur immer edle und gute Taten und Gedanken verzeichnen. Die Schuld wird der Herr streichen oder Vergeltung üben, je nachdem sich das Erdenkind Ihm zu- oder abgewendet hat.... Darum suchet, euch zu veredeln, wo ihr nur könnt, und dem Herrn wohlgefällig den Weg auf Erden zu wandeln, auf daß ihr nicht gerichtet werdet, sondern das ewige Leben habet....

Book of Life.... Summarizing Commandments....

The Lord lets every minute of your life pass you by in a way decisive for eternity.... Everything that you do and think is recorded in the Book of Life, so you must always be mindful to fill page after page of this book with good works and good thoughts.... you are responsible for all your actions and deeds.... but if this always corresponds to the will of God, then an undreamed-of bliss will be the reward of your deeds and your walk on earth. Therefore pay attention:

Never let your neighbor ask in vain, but give and fulfill any request that touches your ear as far as you can.... Respect no man, however lowly he may be, and give him the respect due to him before God.... Be a counsellor to your fellow man in physical and spiritual need, if he goes astray on his path of life or finds it difficult to come to God the Lord.... Always forgive them from your heart what they do to you, and do not think of retribution, because the Lord alone is doing this, but you shall love your enemies as well....

Remain humble in heart, and always recognize the infinite greatness and love of the Heavenly Father, which is inclined towards the smallest beings of creation - including you - to draw you to Himself.... Remain united in deepest love with your heavenly Creator, and beg Him in prayer for His grace and His blessing on all your paths of life, so that you may grow in strength to be active according to His will....

Practice gentleness, peaceableness and mercy, for only through these can you become a child of God and as such be able to hear the voice of the Lord.... Recognize how everything around you longs for salvation, and be ready to help where hearts need to be opened for the salvation that comes from the Word of God alone.... Commemorate with all love the deceased, who - like you - are striving for perfection.... Give them through prayer the strength and support they need....

All this can bring you into a state of mind that the Lord's work on you is visibly expressed, because only those who can receive Divine grace in all it's fullness - because they make themselves worthy of it - will also receive the grace of the visible work of the Lord.... if the Lord can sojourn in a heart that has formed the love for God and fellow man in such a way that the pages of the Book of Life record only ever noble and good deeds and thoughts. The Lord will cancel the guilt or avenge, depending on whether the earthly child has turned to Him or not.... Therefore seek to ennoble yourselves where you can, and to walk the way on earth pleasing to the Lord, that you may not be judged, but have eternal life....
